  • GPS based orbit determination system for the KOMPSAT-2 has been developed. Two types of orbit determination software such as operational orbit determination and precise orbit determination are designed and implemented. GPS navigation solutions from on-board the satellite are used for the operational orbit determination and raw measurements data such as C/A code pseudo-range and L1 carrier phase for the precise orbit determination. Operational concept, architectural design, software implementation, and performance test are described.

  • The effect of catholyte to anolyte amount ratio on the electrodialysis cell performance for HI concentration was investigated. For this purpose, the electrodialysis cell was assembled with Nafion 117 as PEM membrane and activated carbon fiber cloth as electrodes. The initial amount of catholyte was 310 g and that of anolyte varied from 1 to 3 of amount ratio. The calculated electro motive force (EMF) increased with time and the increment enhanced as the amount ratio of catholyte to anolyte decreased. The mole ratios of HI to $H_2O$ (HI molarity) in catholyte were almost the same and exceeded pseudo-azeotropic composition for all amount ratios after 2 h operation. The HI molarity continuously increased with time for 10 h operation. The mole ratio of $I_2$ to HI decreased in catholyte but increased in anolyte. The increment of mole ratio of $I_2$ to HI in anolyte rose as the amount ratio of catholyte to anolyte decreased. In case of 1:1 amount ratio, the cell operation was stopped for the safety at approximately 6 h operation, since the mole ratio of $I_2$ to HI reached solubility limit. The cell voltage of the electrodialysis cell increased with time and the rate of increase was high at low amount ratio. This suggests that the amount ratio of catholyte to anolyte not only crucially influences the cell voltage, but also cell operation condition.

  • This paper deals with the path sensitization algrithm from PI to PO center on the nodes of high testability mainstay when CUT is tested by pseudo exhaustive testing. In CUT, the node definition of high testability mainstay treats the testability values of the entire nodes with the population composed of the raw data, and after we examined the level of significance(1-a) region, we accomplished in the estimation of the confidence interval of the testability. Focusing on the defined nodes of high testability mainstay, we performed the singular cover and consistency operation to the forward and backward logic gates. Thus, we easily generated the pseudo exhausitve test patterns. As a result, (1-a) region has 0.1579 and the pseudo exhaustive test patterns are least generated and the rate of test pattern is 1.22%, compared with exhaustive testing. (1-a) region has 0.2368 and this results exhibits the optimal performance of the singular cover and consistency operation. Applying the generated pseudo exhaustive test patterns to the stuck-at faults existing on the inputs and internal nodes in CUT, we verified this performance on the output. Thus, it is confirmed that functional testing of the proposed path sensitization algorithm is very useful.

  • Korea has about 70% of its land classified as the mountain area, which has led to cut-slope being the result of substantial road and railway construction. However, there is currently a lack of research about the seismic retrofit design of a slope, even though many earthquakes have recently occurred at home and abroad. In this study, in order to investigate the stabilizing effect of piles against sliding during an earthquake, a series of 1 g shaking table tests and pseudo-static analyses were carried out. As a result, the stabilizing effect of piles against sliding during an earthquake was verified by the 1 g shaking table tests and the most effective result from the pseudo-static analyses was that the installation of the piles on the central part of the slope, where the failure surface included piles unlike the lower part and upper part of the slope. Furthermore, when the pile was installed on the central part of the slope, the change of the safety factor depending on the distance between the center of two piles was evaluated.

  • In this paper, a simple and efficient phenomenological macroscopic one-dimensional model is proposed which is able to simulate main features of shape memory alloys (SMAs) particularly ferro-elasticity effect. The constitutive model is developed within the framework of thermodynamics of irreversible processes to simulate the one-dimensional behavior of SMAs under uniaxial simple tension-compression as well as pure torsion+/- loadings. Various functions including linear, cosine and exponential functions are introduced in a unified framework for the martensite transformation kinetics and an analytical description of constitutive equations is presented. The presented model can be used to reproduce primary aspects of SMAs including transformation/orientation of martensite phase, shape memory effect, pseudo-elasticity and in particular ferro-elasticity. Experimental results available in the open literature for uniaxial tension, torsion and bending tests are simulated to validate the present SMA model in capturing the main mechanical characteristics. Due to simplicity and accuracy, it is expected the present SMA model will be instrumental toward an accurate analysis of SMA components in various engineering structures particularly when the ferro-elasticity is obvious.

  • The bilayer forming ability of pseudo-ceramide PC104 in octanoic acid/water/n-octyl $\beta$-D-glucoside mixtures was investigated through the phase diagram. Because of its low solubility in water and of its crystallization, pseudoceramide PC104 was dissolved in octanoic acid, which is nontoxic additive for foods and cosmetics. The mixtures formed four different phases (L1, L2, LC and two phases). Depending on the concentration of PC104 in octanoic acid, the region of each phase was extended or contracted. On the contrary to the region of L2, regions of lamellar phase and L1 phase were expanded. The bilayer-forming ability of PC104 was explained on the basis of concentration of PC104 at interface and interaction between PC104 and octanoic acid. From FT-IR results, it was found that the interactions of PC104’s polar head group with octanoic acid increased as the amount of PC104 in octanoic acid increased. Also emulsion size and size distribution have been studied depending upon the emulsification path. droplets of emulsion prepared from lamellar phase were smaller and more homogeneous compared to those of emulsions formed from L2 phase.

  • Semi-supervised learning is a good way to train a classification model using a small number of labeled and large number of unlabeled data. We applied semi-supervised learning to a synthetic aperture radar(SAR) image classification model with a limited number of datasets that are difficult to create. To address the previous difficulties, semi-supervised learning uses a model trained with a small amount of labeled data to generate and learn pseudo labels. Besides, a lot of number of papers use a single fixed threshold to create pseudo labels. In this paper, we present a semi-supervised synthetic aperture radar(SAR) image classification method that applies different thresholds for each class instead of all classes sharing a fixed threshold to improve SAR classification performance with a small number of labeled datasets.

  • We present the spatially resolved kinematics of ionized gas and stars along the major axis of 9 pseudo bulge galaxies. Using the high quality long-slit spectra obtained with the FOCAS at the Subaru telescope, we measured the flux, velocity, and velocity dispersion of the [OIII] and $H{\beta}$ lines to determine the size of the narrow-line region, rotation curve, and the radial profile of velocity dispersions. We compare ionized gas kinematics and stellar kinematics to investigate whether ionized gas shows any signs of outflows and whether stars and ionized gas show the same sigma-dip feature (i.e., decrease of velocity dispersion) at the very center.
