A program for the protection coordination of distribution systems is reported. The developed program nailed DISCO, consisting of two modules has a capability of selling the overcurrent relays, reclosers, sectionalizers, fuses which are commonly used in the primary feeder systems. Setting is performed in a downstream fashion starting from the substation, and coordination rules are applied identifying the pattern of the primary-backup devices based on the depth-first search. T/C curves of various devices are handled by digitization for accuracy and various graphics and windows are adopted for user-friendly interface.

In Korea, water management policy had been successfully conducted until late 1980's. During the period, fundamental needs of human-being, such as requirements of drinking and irrigation waters and flood protection for living, had been satisfied. However, most of recent water problems occurred after the late 1980's such as water quality management and new water resources development, have been unresolved and accumulated. Because, our water governing institutions have become ineffective as water management issue has been changed gradually from fundamental human needs such as water supply and/or flood protection to complex/integrated issues, for example, river restoration. To solve those water problems accumulated, we needs a new paradigm of water governing institution such as setting up national water management committee and river basin committee, in order to coordinate water-related ministries' policies and establish national water resources planning in an integrated format.

In this paper, the fault analysis program that is convenient to analyse fault records of a digital relay and to set a digital relay is described. The key feature of this fault analysis program is as follows. - analysing fault records stored in a local PC and/or a digital relay - analysing events - setting a digital relay. This program is for a digital bus protection relay using a conventional variable percentage current differential relaying algorithm. So this program adds a function analysing the characteristic of each variable percentage current differential function and the connection state of the transmission lines at double-bus system.

This paper suggests an optimal parameter setting method by use of parametric protectability index, as the objective function. In this paper, a gradient based optimization method is used under the assumption that the initial values of a parameter is in a convex set including the optimal value, which is verified by a plenty of simulation studies. The proposed method is applied to a sample distribution network to shows its effectiveness.

Corrosion inhibitors are widely used to protect chloride-induced corrosion of reinforcement in concrete. However, the number of researches on the corrosion of reinforcement, when corrosion inhibitor is used, is not enough for actual application in the field. In addition, on corrosion of reinforcement a quantitative standard about corrosion inhibitor does not exist and the data about its influencing concrete are relatively rare. In this study, the effectiveness of rebar corrosion protection, setting time, compressive strength, chloride ion's penetration, and diffusion test were performed using with three different kinds of corrosion inhibitors.

This paper presents a Multi-Agent system for setting and coordination of overcurrent protective devices in the distribution system. The simulation model shows its feasibility in which KQML is used for communication among agents. The proposed system could make it possible to keep the protection system in the optimal state all the time.

In this paper, 274 traditional fairy tales of South and North Korea were selected for research. The research was performed using a content analysis chart, and found differences in the number of characters, how ideology and social setting affect categorization of the characters, and what values are represented in the fairy tails of each country. Analysis of the general characteristics of traditional fairy tales of South and North Korea shows that South Korean traditional fairy tales have more cases where $1{\sim}4$ characters appear. In North Korean fairy tales, 5 or more characters generally appear. Analysis of the categories of characters in traditional fairy tales of South and North Korea found that characters fall into categories of family, friend and tutor, village, and the native country more often in South Korean fairy tales than in North Korean fairy tales. Character categorizations of county and foreign countries are found more often in North Korean fairy tales. In particular, the difference in character categorization of family, friend and tutor, and county shows that different ideology and social setting affected categories of characters. Research on traditional fairy tales of South and North Korea shows that traditional fairy tales of South Korea have chosen self-respect, self-restraint, fidelity(responsibility), understanding others, manners and honesty as themes more often than those of North Korea and subjects such as frugality, sharing, order and rules, cooperation and patriotism(ecosystem protection) we found more often in those of North Korea.

Special Protection Scheme(SPS) that operates scenarios about faults beyond the normally protective action is wide system protection technology for the purpose of wide areas protection. Therefore, the SPS focuses on the improvement of the power supply capability by protecting the system rather than protecting the system equipments. Since the SPS requires emergency operation, the operation schedule is set up in advance by analyzing various scenarios. Since the SPS's action scheme uses generator tripping and is a classical method it is presently the most powerful one. However, as the setting of SPS is set to the most severe disturbance, the scheme tends to trip more generators than required to prevent fault propagation. It is highly likely that tripping generator units to prevent fault propagation would result in difficulty of system management and possibility of load shedding. Accordingly, it is desirable that generators are connected to the system within the range that ensures system stability and intelligent SPS is currently under development to solve the problem being stated. In this paper, as a part of developing the intelligent SPS, application of the fast-valving and braking resistor scheme to the generators is being proposed and analysed to reduce the number of tripped generators.

This study aimed to investigate and compare the perception of personal protective equipments and instrument sterilization of students who are in attendance at colleges and universities and which have bedside training as a regular subject in their curriculum for third-year students. 'Completely True' is the highest response to the question about the importance of wearing gloves, mask and medical gown from all groups. 'Completely True' is the highest response to the question about the necessity for replacement of gloves from all groups. 'Moderate True' is the highest response to the question about the necessity for replacement of mask from the group without practical training and 'Completely True' is the highest response to the question about the importance of hair cleanliness from all groups regardless of practical training experience. For the question about the perception of instrument disinfection and sterilization, the group with inside and outside practical training showed the highest perception level. Consequently, the right education for prevention of infection by setting inclusive guidelines to enhance the level of perception and practice seems continuously necessary.

Using an international setting, this study investigates the relation between cash holdings and financial reporting quality, measured by accruals quality. Empirical results show that the balance of cash holdings is positively related to the opacity of financial reporting in non-U.S. international markets. The relation becomes stronger as the strength of investor protection increases, implying that precautionary motives, instead of agency motives, drive the increase of cash holdings of opaque firms. In addition, the positive relation is stronger for discretionary accruals quality. The decomposition of the aspects of investor protection shows that public enforcement through regulation authorities is the main driver of the positive relation between cash holdings and the opacity of financial reporting.
