  • Recently, mechanical and electrical construction are getting more important because of technology advances. In particular, construction market has become more competitive and construction requires more complicated and sophisticated works. Despite its importance, relatively little studies on construction management for mechanical construction and electrical construction. Therefore, this study conducted an analysis to identify the relationship between construction planning and project performance. For the analysis a number of mechanical professionals were participated. Ultimately, the study will provide a foundation of effective construction management for mechanical construction.

면소마을 개발사업의 건조환경에의 영향과 개선 시사점 횡성군 우천면 우항1리의 경우 (Rural Development Projects and their Impacts on Built Environment; Case of Ucheon Myon-center Village)

  • The study intends to find out contents and impacts of rural development projects implemented by government in Ucheon myon-center village (Hoingseong-county) between 1989-1995. The projects in concern are Rural Industrial Estate Project(1989-90) and Rural Collective Village Project(1992-93), The restructuring of village plan introduced new construction and renewal of buildings that are required for a myon-center in general has to be. The study reveals some morphological patterns the village has and needs to be adjusted. As a conclusion, it proposes a conception of self-containment for a myon-center development. It is necessary that a project plan strategy should be based upon harmonious exploitation between old and new, flexible planning, and sense of technological alternatives.

  • The application of the electric propulsion system to the vessels has recently become common due to the latest technology for controlling the electric motors with variable speed. However it has been found that harmonic distortion exists in the electric propulsion system, which consists of an electric motor, a converter and an inverter, and this harmonic distortion has a harmful effect on the system. In this paper, the definition of the harmonic distortion and problems caused by the harmonic distortion in the electric propulsion of the vessels are introduced and the practical solutions for the problems are investigated.

취락구조 개선(신촌형) 마을의 주민의식 및 공간구조 분석에 관한 연구 (Project evaluation by the rural villagers on and spatial analysis of the reconstructed villages under the Rural Village Improvement Project (Type A))

  • This study aims at analyzing of residents'attitudes and spatial structures in the rural villages reconstructed by the Rural Village Improvement Project(type A), and suggesting the guiding directions for planning rural villages. Six rural villages located in KyungGi province were selected for case study. The Major findings can be summarized as follows : 1) The ratio of type A project(newly planned village) in the total cases of the Rural Village Improvement Project has increased since 1990, In the majority(91.2%) of the type A project, the project area is below 2 ha and density of dwelling unit is below 40 households/ha. 2) The three spatial structures of newly planned rural village, i.e., Loop pattern, Cul-de-sac pattern, and Dendritic pattern, are identified. And the barns in the newly-build houses are categorized into the five types : the vertical addition type, the horizontal addition type, the vertical- horizontal addition type, the no- barn type, and the reused -barn type. 3) In the newly planned rural villages, the level of satisfactions for the quality of house and water & sewer system is remarkably higher than in the existing rural villages. These are the positive effects caused by the Rural Village Improvement Project. 4) The majority of the villagers think the improvement of the existing rural village, instead of redevelopment or newly planned village, is most desirable, which means the improvement of houses, roads, and sanitary facilities while preserving the spatial structures of the existing village.

ESTIMATING COSTS DURING THE INITIAL STAGE OF CONCEPTUAL PLANNING FOR PUBLIC ROAD PROJECTS: CASE-BASED REASONING APPROACH

  • Estimating project costs during the early stage of conceptual planning is very important when deciding whether to approve the project and allocate an appropriate budget. However, due to greater uncertainties involved in a project, it is challenging to estimate costs during this initial stage within a reasonable tolerance. This paper attempts to develop a cost-estimate model for public road projects under these circumstances and limitations. In the conceptual planning stage of a road project, there is only limited information for cost estimation, for example, such input data as total length of the route, origin and destination, number of lanes, general geographic characteristics of the route, and other basic attributes. This implies that the model should individuate suitable but restricted information without considering detailed features such as quantity of earthwork and a detailed route of a given condition. With these limited facts, this paper applies a case-based reasoning (CBR) method to solve a new problem by deriving similar past problems, which in turn is used to estimate the cost of a given project based on best-fitted previous cases. To develop a CBR cost-estimate model, the authors classified 8 representative variables, including project type, the number of lanes, total length, road design grades, etc. Then, we developed the CBR model, primarily by using 180 actual cases of public road projects, procured over the last decade. With the CBR model, it was found that the degree of error in estimation can be reasonably reduced, to below approximately 30% compared to the final costs estimated upon the completion of detailed design.

강소농 육성사업 참여농가의 성과 만족도 분석 (The Effects of Strong Small Farm Policy for Participation Farms)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the effect of the Strong Small Farm Development Project by Rural Development Administration is positively associated with participating farmers. The data that used in this study is a survey data that targets 442 farming households who have participated in the strong small farm development project. This study applies ordered-probit model to evaluate level of the participants' satisfaction of the project. This study found that participants' level of satisfaction is closely associated by satisfaction level of project contents that contains education and consulting, friendly attitude toward the project, active participation of the project, and understanding of the project's contents and their importances. Based on research findings, this research provides some implications of future upbringing policy for strong small farms and the principal point of the policy that leads to succeed in implementing the project when formulating agricultural policy in participants view. the strong small farms.

특성화고의 태양광 추적 제어 시스템 개발 프로젝트법이 학습자의 과제 수행 능력에 미치는 효과 (The Effect on Task Performance Ability of Project Method to Develop Solar Tracking Control System in Specialized High School)

  • The purpose of this study was to verity the effect of project method on the task performance ability in development of a solar-tracking-control-system of specialized high school. In order to carry out this study, 2 classes of technical high school in Jeonbuk are chosen as experimental and control groups. The experimental group was taught by project method and the control group was taught by traditional instruction. Project method was designed by 4 stages-selection of goal, planning, implementation and evaluation. According to these stages, experimental group's students carried out the project that developing solar tracking control system in solar generation. The results of this study are as follows; the project method was more effective than the traditional instruction in planning ability for task performance and implementation ability, subordinates of task performance ability. However, information gathering ability and evaluation ability on task performance, others in subordinates, it is not clear that the project method is more effective.

  • 건설공사를 수행하는데 있어 초기 프로젝트 계획에 대한 중요성이 널리 인식되어 지고 있다. 프로젝트와 관련된 방대한 양의 실적자료들이 초기 계획단계에서부터 활용될 수 있다면, 프로젝트의 전체 범위와 비용견적을 비교적 정확하게 예측할 수 있는 중요한 원천이 될 것이다. 그러나, 공사 실적자료들의 축적, 분석, 활용의 정도가 미비하여 상당한 양의 유용한 정보들이 쉽게 사장되거나 적용되지 못한 채 보유되고 있다. 이런 문제점을 개선하기 위해서는 건설사업 참여자들이 획득한 수많은 양의 실적자료들을 유용한 지식으로 획득, 저장, 공유, 활용할 수 있는 체계적, 종합적인 실적자료관리시스템을 개발하여 관리할 필요성이 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 기술적 흐름과 병행하여, 현재 건설공사의 실적자료들을 효과적으로 관리하여 유사프로젝트에 유용하게 이용하고자 한다

농촌지역개발의 주민참여와 사업성과에 관한 사례 연구 - 미얀마 농촌공동체 개발사업을 중심으로 - (A Case Study on Villagers' Participation and Project Achievement in Rural Development - Focusing on Saemaul Undong Project in Myanmar -)

  • Since the Republic of Korea had been registered as the 24th member of OECD DAC in 2009, recent trend of Korea's ODA has showed drastic increase including agriculture and rural development sector. Particularly, various rural development projects have been implemented adopting development experience and methodology of Saemaul Undong (SMU, New Village Movement). This study implemented statistical analysis between villagers' participation and achievement of rural community development project, based on practical data out of 'Saemaul Undong Project in Myanmar', to suggest meaningful implication in terms of participatory rural development. It emphasized the importance and necessity of villagers' participation in rural development through regression analysis that proved positive correlation between villagers' participation and rural development project. It proves that income-generation part has significantly greater influence than capacity-building and living environment part in terms of rural community development project: Based on the analysis, comparing impact of each independent variable, income generation has 1.88 and 1.68 times greater impact than capacity-building and living environment respectively. The result, on the other side, rather raise the importance of careful consideration for project design and implementation to harmonize those three parts altogether especially rural development for developing countries: capacity-building and living environment parts suggests essential foundation to make income generation successful that enables to secure project achievement and sustainability.

농촌중심지 생활SOC시설 이용의 영향요인 연구 - 강진군 성전면 농촌중심지활성화사업 거점지구를 대상으로 - (A Study on the Factors Affecting Utilization of Life SOC Facilities of Rural Center - In the Case of Base District of Seongjeon-myeon Rural Center Revitalization Project of Gangjin-gun -)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a plan to promote the use of life SOC facilities by analyzing the factors affecting utilization of life SOC facilities established as part of the rural center revitalization project. To this end, we selected Seongjeon-myeon, Gangjin-gun where the rural center revitalization project was implemented, conducted a survey on residents while analyzing the project details, and analyzed the results. This study revealed that the residents with a cognitive level for the rural center revitalization project and life SOC tended to more actively use the life SOC facilities. Therefore, to boost residents' use of the life SOC facilities, it is necessary to promote their understanding of and interest in the rural center revitalization project in the project implementation phase and have them be sufficiently aware of the facilities by operating pilot programs for residents in each facility and holding local events and festivals. This study will lay a steppingstone for active resident use of life SOC facilities established in rural centers and provide basic data for further research.
