A Study on the Application of PDCA Cycle for Performance Management of Promotion Project for Local Industry (향토산업육성사업의 성과관리를 위한 PDCA Cycle의 적용)

  • This study verified for the necessity for the comprehensive analysis of outcomes resulting from the local industry promotion project in many respects. To analyze the operation planning for performance management of local industry promotion project, this study redesigns the so-called PDCA(Plan${\rightarrow}$Do${\rightarrow}$Check${\rightarrow}$Act) model which is also known as Deming Cycle and verifies some hypotheses. To accomplish study purposes, 169 response samples from 85 project groups which drive the local industry promotion project were verified using SPSS 12.0. The findings are as follows: First, there was a positive relationship between the planing phase and the implementation phase. Second, there was also a positive relationship between the implementation phase and completion of the project phase. Third, there was a positive relationship between the planing phase and completion of the project phase. Finally, the implementation phase was a partial mediator on the relationship between the planing phase and completion of the project phase. Based on these findings, the implications and the limitations of the research findings were discussed, and recommendations for future research were provided.

Investigating the Factors Influencing Project Satisfaction and Performance in Pre-Project Phase (프로젝트 준비단계에서 프로젝트 성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Preproject phase is an important but often ignored research area in information systems field although it has an undeniable importance for successful project. The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting project performance in preproject phase and to find empirically critical factors among them. After deriving 9 factors through literature review including clear project definition, project leader position, staffing efforts, preproject team expertise, preproject knowledge scope, preproject partnering, top-management support, resource sufficiency, and project climate, the study investigate the influence of those factors on project performance. The study results reveal that clear project definition, project climate, resource sufficiency, pre-project knowledge scope, project leader position have significant impact on project process satisfaction, a measure of project performance, but the other factors do not. Based on the empirical results, the study discuss academic and practical implications.

A Study on the Design-Phase Checklist for Office Project Management (업무공간 프로젝트 매니지먼트의 디자인 단계 체크리스트 개발에 관한 연구)

  • The importance of applying project management in interior design has been increased due to recent changes in construction business environment along with market opening which demands more systematized and organized project management system. Yet, project management has not been utilized for interior design industry in Korea. This study intends to define the concept of project management in interior design, categorize tasks of each phase in office design project, and establish a table of elements which should be considered in each task. The table can be utilized as a checklist at the designing site. An in-depth analysis was conducted on the tasks in the Designing phase. In short, this study demonstrates five management phases and nine tasks. The differentiated checklist for office design is discussed in the project management of the Design phase. The checklist established in this study can be used as a practical guideline not only for the clients who are not familiar with management of design project, but also for existing project managers and interior designers. Further studies on management of design projects and development of checklist other than office design is needed.

  • The planning phase of construction project success or failure of the enterprise decision the 1st dangerous duration which occurs very there is a possibility of making with the phase which is important, of construction project in life cycle most many risk. But the risk management from planning phase well does not become accomplished is the actual condition from existing construction project.   • The Mizunami Underground Laboratory (MIU) Project is a comprehensive research project investigating the deep underground environment within crystalline rock being conducted by Japan Atomic Energy Agency. The MIU Project has three overlapping phases: Surface-based Investigation phase (Phase I), Construction phase (Phase II), and Operation phase (Phase III), with a total duration of 20 years. The overall project goals of the MIU Project from Phase I through to Phase III are: 1) to establish techniques for investigation, analysis and assessment of the deep geological environment, and 2) to develop a range of engineering for deep underground application. For the overall project goals 1), the Phase I goals were set to construct models of the geological environment from all surface-based investigation results that describe the geological environment prior to excavation and predict excavation response. For the overall project goals 2), the Phase I goals were set to formulate detailed design concepts and a construction plan for the underground facilities. This paper introduces geosynthesis procedures for the investigation and assessment of the hydrochemistry of groundwater in crystalline rock.

  • Early planning phase of private development project is an important part in mercy of failure and success of all project. Hut reliability of analysis result existing planning phase in not high to the importance. So we analyzed a basic problem point through case study and research data analysis of planning phase in private development project. After this, there is a cause in no establishment of systemic model about work processing and method of planning phase. We would like to suggest the solution through establishment of planning phase analysis processing and risk management model. We think that suggested analysis method increase the credibility of analysis result. With this, we anticipate we suggest the guideline in project process phase and that assist the effective accomplishment of project.

Split-bolus CT urography with synchronous nephrographic and excretory phase in dogs: comparison of image quality with three-phase CT urography and optimal allocation ratio of contrast medium

  • Background: Computed tomography urography (CTU), based on the excretion of contrast medium after its injection, allows visualization of the renal parenchyma and the renal collecting system. Objectives: To determine the optimal contrast medium dose allocation ratio to apply in split-bolus CTU in dogs. Methods: This prospective, experimental, exploratory study used 8 beagles. In 3-phase CTU, unenhanced-, nephrographic-, and excretory-phase images were obtained with a single injection of 600 mg iodine/kg iohexol. In split-bolus CTU, two different contrast medium allocation ratios (30% and 70% for split CTU 1; 50% and 50% for split CTU 2) were used. Unenhanced phase image and a synchronous nephrographic-excretory phase image were acquired. Results: Although the attenuation of the renal parenchyma was significantly lower when using both split CTUs than the 3-phase CTU, based on qualitative evaluation, the visualization score of the renal parenchyma of split CTU 1 was as high as that of the 3-phase CTU, whereas the split CTU 2 score was significantly lower than those of the two others. Artifacts were not apparent, regardless of CTU protocol. The diameter and opacification of the ureter in both split CTUs were not significantly different from those using 3-phase CTU. Conclusions: Split-bolus CTU with a contrast medium allocation ratio of 30% and 70% is feasible for evaluating the urinary system and allows sufficient enhancement of the renal parenchyma and appropriate distention and opacification of the ureter, with similar image quality to 3-phase CTU in healthy dogs. Split-bolus CTU has the advantages of reducing radiation exposure and the number of CT images needed for interpretation.

Development of Business Model for Partnership Support Management (PSM) in Private Infrastructure Projects (민간투자사업 파트너쉽지원관리(PSM) 업무모델 개발)

  • In order to maintain construction industry and to improve efficiency, the Korean government legislated private investment system. Private sector takes advantages by adopting CM (Construction Management) project system, however, public sector has relatively less capability and experience than private sector. In this paper, PSM (Partnership Support Management) is addressed in order to actively strengthen the project capabilities for public sector. PSM maintains existing CM project system because it is a concept of expended business model of CM. PSM needed to categorize the private participated project into 5 phases; project development phase, project announcement phase, project evaluation phase, project agreement phase and agreement changing phase. PSM business structure and business process considering stakeholder's interrelationship and participation are suggested in this research. Suggested PSM business model may not only increase a comprehensive understanding of government and project capability, but also may reduce work load and responsibilities for project momentum of private participation in infrastructure.

Cooperative Design Method for Building Projects (건축 프로젝트의 협력설계 방안)

  • Two main features of the recent building project are the enlargement of the size and the technological complexity. Due to these features, the number or the size of organizations participating in building project is also increasing and the relationships between the organizations are becoming more interdependent than ever. Owing to these features, some delays or errors in the decision-making process in the phase of planning of a building project may influence many subjects related to the project. The most important factor for a successful project is to arbitrate confrontations and build cooperative relationships between parties who have different interests with one another in the project. Efforts were made to find out general features of building project and the features in the phase of planning in order to set a direction of this research. To solve problems in the phase of planning, the concept of 'cooperative design', which means that different features and interests of various organizations should be reflected from the phase of planning, was introduced. By introducing cooperative design in building projects, more rapid and objective decision-makings are possible.

An algorithm for resolution of resource conflicts in scheduling

  • A two phase heuristic algorithm has been developed for the resolution of resource conflicts in a single project scheduling problem. Phase 1 of the algorithm generates a feasible schedule by repairing resource conflicts. Phase 2 finds local improvements in the schedule found in phase 1. Then, the algorithm has been applied to multi project and job shop scheduling. Computational results are compared with those of dispatching procedures. Index Terms-disjunctive constraints, heuristic algorithm, project scheduling, job-shop scheduling.
