Some radiology majors at three-year colleges in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-Do Province were selected for the research. The survey was conducted by explaining its objectives and distributing the self-administered questionnaires from March 7 to 30, 2011; then, the final analysis was carried out on 122 copies, drawing the following conclusions : 1) 31.1% of the radiology majors were motivated to enter their department by good employment after graduation, and 37.7% were getting information from their parents or relatives in selecting their major. 2) The majority of the respondents wanted to get a job in a big city after graduation on the basis of good pay. 3) Department selection was significantly affected by transportation, department and school image, and school facilities, and the effects were higher among females. 4) Department satisfaction was significantly affected by professor satisfaction, prospects for the department, and support for employment activities, and the effects were higher among females. 5) School satisfaction was significantly affected by satisfaction with school selection decision, good selection, and school environment, and the effects were higher among females. 6) Females were found to have higher professional consciousness as a radiologist, showing statistically significant differences: "the occupation as a radiologist will continue to be developed" at $3.97{\pm}.837$ for males and at $4.55{\pm}.663$ for females and "the occupation as a radiologist is stable and will be help get a life-long job" at $3.82{\pm}.9.08$ for males and at $4.41{\pm}.787$ for females.
The purpose of the study was to analyze the constraints that are normally experienced before moving in the context of the household characteristics of households that had recently moved to newly-built apartments. The data for the analysis was collected through a self-administered questionnaire from July 1, 2008 to August 10, 2008. The sample consisted of 251 households in Ulsan living in an apartment complex who had moved within a year. The data from the sample was analyzed by descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and analysis of variance with Duncan's multiple range tests. The results are as follows. The constraints were categorized into information gathering, attractive housing characteristics, expectations of residential mobility, housing development and policies, and resources. Overall, the constraints did not have a huge impact on the performance of the residential mobility of the sample households. Resources, however, were the most influential factors among the five constraints followed by attractive housing characteristics, information gathering, etc. The constraints varied based on the demographic characteristics, such as the household size, duration of marriage, age of the household head, and the socio-economic characteristics, such as the education level of the household head, household income, and the number of mobility. As the number of family members increased, the age of the household head went up, or the level of education went down, the constraints on information gathering were affected in terms of performing residential mobility. Households with a middle aged head with a professional occupation were more constrained by the attractive characteristics of the housing. The impact of the resources related constraints was significantly different based on the number of family members, marriage duration, and the household head's age and occupation, and the number of mobility.
In a rapidly changing Korean society, the role of home economics in ideological education and practical professionalism is faced to be reset. In this article the author reviews home economics and career opportunities. the following issues were discussed in detail : 1. Home Economics and Occupation ; a) As professionals in the field of home economics, job applicants must carry their message in person to potential employers. Employers must be taught that persons with home economics degrees have the capabilities and qualifications to fill a variety of positions. b) In may of 1977, Vocational Education Coalition was established by American Home economics association (AHEA), American Vocational Association, and Home Economics Education association This coalition defined the vocational education as occupation of homemaking and paid employment in home economics occupations for women and men. 2. Home Economics in business: Twelve percent of the total membership of the AHEA is affiliated with the home economics in business section. KOREATECH has introduced a long-term co-op program called IPP (Industry Professional Practice) to address problems in engineering education of Korea since 2012. In order to evaluate and improve the IPP program, the IPP Center of KOREATECH has developed a comprehensive performance evaluation scheme on the basis of the Kirkpatrick's four stage performance evaluation model for training programs. This study aimed to analyze student questionnaire survey data from the IPP performance evaluation scheme, which was acquired before and after IPP terms in 2013 and measured students' perceptions on the five aspects of major competencies, non-major competencies, perception of and satisfaction with the IPP program and attitudes to occupation. The findings showed that the IPP program was effective to a certain degree at enhancing non-major competencies and attitudes to occupation of students. Participating students were quite satisfied with their jobs and companies. In the last part, several directions for improving the effectiveness of the IPP program were discussed.
This study aimed quantitatively to estimate the recent level of recognition of the public value of forests in Korea, to analyze the factors that affect their value, and to present implications. The average annual payment regarding the public value of forests estimated using the contingent valuation method was 234,170 won, broken down into 12 functionalities. The Tobit model was used to analyze demographic factors affecting the degree of willingness to pay, and the analysis showed that area of residence, age, marital status, occupation, household income, and visits to forest facilities all had statistically significant impacts on the degree of willingness to pay. Among these variables, living area (living in Seoul), marriage status (married), occupation (professional and office workers), and household income (more than the median income) were found to have a positive relationship with the degree of willingness to pay, while age and the number of visits to forest facilities were found to have a negative relationship. The implications are as follows: First, it is necessary to establish and implement policies to enhance positive perceptions of the various functions of forests and the legitimacy of protecting forest resources, considering that the public's valuation of various public functions provided by forests is directly related to changes in perception. Second, public evaluations of the public value of forests remain at a low level, meaning that education and promotions regarding the public value of forests need to be implemented and strengthened in the future. Finally, in order to form a consensus among people on the public functions of forests, customized promotions and educational events need to be implemented for non-Seoul residents, non-professionals, the unmarried, and for those who regularly visit forests.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship among the health promoting behaviors, self-reported climacteric symptoms and depression on a cross-sectional survey desist The subjects were 108 middle-aged women who were nonhystrectomized and ranged in age from 40 to 60. They were selected in Seoul and Kyoung-ki province. Korea. Data were collected from Oct. 25 to Nov. 10, 1997 by a structured Questionnaire. The instrument used for this study was the revised Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile(HPLP) developed by Walker, Sechrist and Pender, revised Climacteric Symptoms Scale developed by Chi, Sung Ai, and the Beck's Depression Inventory(BID). The data were analyzed by the SPSS /PC$^{+}$ program using t-test, ANOVA and Scheffe test as a post hoc and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The results of the study were as follows ; 1. The mean score of health promoting behaviors was low(2.42$\pm$0.35). There were statistically significant difference in the score of health promoting behaviors according to the educational background. family income, marital satisfaction, and whether or not taking a restoraitve food(t =-2.07, F=2.60~7.57, p<0.05). 2. The mean score of self-reported climacteric symptoms was 1.69 ; 99% of middle-aged women had symptoms. There were statistically significant difference in the score of middle-aged women's self-reported climacteric symptoms according to the age, number of children, educational background, occupation, family income, marital satisfaction, whether or not receiving hormone replacement therapy(HRT) or consultation experience with a professional, and perceived health status(t=-2.04~3.69. F=2.87~11.63, p<0.05). 3. The mean score of depression was 10.84. There were statistically significant differences in the score of the depression according to the age, number of children, educational background, occupation, marital satisfaction, whether or not receiving menopausal treatment or consultation by a professional, and perceived health status(t =-2.25~3.00, F=3.50~9.24, p<0.05). 4. Women's degree of health promoting behaviors was a negative correlation with the degree of climacteric symptoms(r=-0.19, p=0.03) and the degree of depression(r=-0.23, p=0.01). The degree of climacteric stmptoms was a positive correlation with the degree of depression(r=0.64 p=0.01). In conclusion. health promoting behavior should be considered when developing nursing strategies for middle-aged women. especially when dealing with climacteric symptoms and depression.

The purpose of this study was to investigate how employed dental hygienists (graduates) and alumni are aware of dental health insurance and how to organize their classes for running efficient dental health insurance courses, and therefore to suggest opinions on the introduction of professional dental hygienist qualifications. The analyses was carried out using IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0. Sixty-nine students (56.1%) preferred one semester dental health insurance course as two semester courses and 63 students (51.2%) preferred theoretical course as practical course. Ninety-six (78%) students preferred dental health insurance claimants as others for their most necessary certification. Ninety-three dentists (75.6%) thought of the dental hygienist as the appropriate occupation for dental health insurance claims. The correlation coefficient was significant at the 0.01 level (both sides) and all showed a positive correlation. The effect of subjective understanding of dental health insurance and the perception of dental health insurance claim on students' intention to complete those courses explained 32% of the response, and the effect of the intention to complete those courses on the willingness to earn a certificate explained 22.3%. This study reveals the willingness of students to complete those courses to acquire qualifications in order to achieve a competitive advantage in employment, and suggests the necessity of institutional improvements such as changing the method of dental insurance education, varying the class time distribution, and introducing dental health insurance professional dental hygienist qualification in the country.
To investigate the changes of cortico-cortical connectivity during odor stimulation of subjects classified by occupations, the mutual information content of EEGs was examined, for general workers, perfume salespersons and professional perfume researchers. Analysis of the averaged-cross mutual information content (A-CMI) from the EEGs revealed that, among the professional perfume researchers,. changes in the A-CMI values during odor stimulation were more apparent in the frontal region of the brain, although for the general workers group and perfume salespersons group such changes were more conspicuous in the overall posterior temporal, parietal and frontal regions. These results indicate that the brains of professional perfume researchers respond to odors mainly in the frontal region, reflecting the function of the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) due to the occupational requirement of these subjects to discriminate of identify odors. During odor stimulation, the perfume salespersons, although relatively more exposed to odors than the general workers, showed similar changes to the general workers. A-CMI value is in inverse proportion to psychological preferences of the professional perfume researchers and perfume salespersons, but this is not the case with the general workers. This suggests that functional coupling for people who are occupationally exposed to odors may be related to odors nay be related to psychological preference.
These days, the environment of hospital marketing is changing rapidly. The level of expectation and demand of patients have become greater and more diversified, and patients have more alternatives in selecting hospitals. The standard of hospital selection and the type of using hospital have been changed, and competition among hospitals has been accelerated due to the opening of the medical market through globalization. Accordingly, differentiation strategies are critical in hospital marketing. The quality of medical service oriented toward patient satisfaction becomes a strong strategic weapon to secure a hospital's competitive advantage. Therefore, marketing and communication strategies should be focused on patient-oriented, rather than hospital-oriented. Considering the changes in the hospital environment and the increase in the patients' expectation level, this study categorizes doctors' communication styles into four different ones: trust-type, professional-type, cooperation-type, and control-type. The effects of these communication styles on patient satisfaction were empirically examined. The moderating roles of the patient's characteristics and clinical characteristics between the doctors' communication styles and patient satisfaction were also investigated to find out managerial implications for hospital management. To achieve such goals, data were collected from patients of 12 general hospitals in Busan. The data were analyzed to test research hypotheses that examine 1) the relationships between doctors' communication styles and patient satisfaction, 2) the moderating roles of the patient characteristics and clinical characteristics in the research model, and 3) the impact of patient satisfaction on positive word-of-mouth and repurchase. The following summarizes the major results of this research. First, the data showed that patient satisfaction varied across doctors' communication styles. Trust-type style had the strongest impact on patient satisfaction while control-type style had the weakest influence on patient satisfaction. Professional-type style and cooperation-type style also had positive effects on patient satisfaction but the impact of the two are not statistically different. Second, significant differences in terms of patient satisfaction were found depending upon demographic variables such as gender, marital status, age, occupation, and education. Patient satisfaction, however, was consistent across varying income groups. Third, patients' medical insurance types were also related to patient satisfaction. It implies that a doctor may need to use different communication styles depending on a patient's medical insurance type. Fourth, out-patient and in-patient showed a different level of satisfaction with varying communication styles. Fifth, highly professional knowledge and strong control can influence patient satisfaction depending on the characteristics of the patient treatment field. Sixth, patient satisfaction were proved to have significantly positive effects on word-of-mouth and repurchase. The implications drawn from this study must be tempered by its limitations. First of all, the subjects used in this study were patients in Busan and small- and medium-size hospitals were excluded from the research. Therefore, future research should examine the research model by using a variety of hospitals and clinics throughout Korea. Another research agenda has to do with finding more determinant and moderating variables which will increase an explanatory power of the model. In short, this study may be the first empirical research that investigates the effects of doctors' communication styles on patient satisfaction. Interestingly enough, the results showed that each communication style had a unique impact on patient satisfaction. The findings from this research can be very useful in developing hospital marketing strategies.
This paper investigates the parenting stress of fathers who have preschooler. At first, a causal model constructed, including the parenting stress as a dependent variable and the psychological characteristics of paternal self-esteem and parenting efficacy as parameters. Based on the change of parenting stress, self-esteem and parenting efficacy according to various pertinent to fathers, the causal effect of various variables effecting on the paternal parenting stress is analyzed. The SPSS PC program was used for the statistical analysis, where fully exploited were frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, Cronbach α, one-way analysis(ANOVA), path analysis. The results can be summarized into 3 parts, in conclusion: 1) The younger a father is, the higher paternal self-esteem becomes. Paternal self-esteem trend was there, for a father who is a member of large family, and for a father whose education level is high, and for a father whose occupation is professional. Regarding parenting sense of competence, a father shows confidence when he has more income, more educated and less children. 2) The variable analysis effecting on the parenting stress dut to the paternal environment shows that a father feels more stress when his income is less and his spouse is working. The sub-factor analysis on the parenting stress shows that 'typical stress dut to the parenting' increases when his income is less and his spouse is working, and 'pressures pertaning to the parental role and distress' increases for a father with less income, working spouse, less educated and non-professional job. Further 'guilty to the parenting by others' shows higher for a father with less income and a working spouse. 3) The path analysis, which were performed to check the causality of the parenting stress dut to various variables, shows that the self-esteem and the parenting efficacy are significant factors directly effecting on the paternal parenting stress, and the job-satisfaction and marriage-satisfaction are significantly effecting on the parenting stress both directly and indirectly.
