PC Box Girder was constructed by PSM(Precast Span Method) to solve the shortage of the construction period. The site case study was used in the PSM to find the construction productivity improvement. In this case study, main reasons of low productivity were founded unskilled technical engineers and insufficient equipment management winter season concrete curing condition. Productivity improvements are presented by assigning production personnel appropriately, motivation which increased by providing incentives for technical engineers, strictly cooperation of each participant, organizational teamwork, and Promoting productive work condition. Additional method of productivity improvements are continuous improvement of the work methods by considering the feedback on previous work, and continuous training to best handle the site conditions. This study of productivity improvement will help to use the most advantage of the PSM method and desire to successfully plan the future construction performance.

It is very important moments to look revolutionary changes on the whole industries in the upcoming new millennium. Constructing high buildings is a global trend, and skyscrapers for residing are also increasing. But a period of works for finish construction is different depending on a company while a period of works for frame construction of skyscrapers for residing in the country is regular when considering a difference of a method of construction, and the increase of repeated construction for high buildings and number of related process for finish construction are stressing the importance of improving productivity through construction management and plan for works. Because there are many compositive factors affecting productivity other than technical factors, we should intensively study the way of improvement and prevention preferentially through analyzing factors affecting productivity. So in this study, we present important management factors for making systematic strategy and plan for improvement of productivity by finding factors affecting productivity depending on the degree of importance unifying factors affecting productivity of plan factor(internal factor of construction process) and management factor(outer factor of construction process).

The purpose of this study is to execute the investigation of injurious factors causing muscle-skeletal diseases at an automotive glass manufacturing company and, on the basis of the results, to enhance productivity by the improvement of working environment. By using an survey and an ergonomic evaluation method, symptoms of muscle-skeletal diseases of workers and working postures at each process were analyzed, and quantitative evaluation of muscle-skeletal disease risk against each process was performed. Based on the result of the evaluation, to enhance the working environment, improvement of worktable, working space, tools, and outfit was suggested, and induction of mechanical system was also suggested. Suggested improvement plan was applied to the workplace step by step and it is confirmed that improvement plan not only removes the injurious factors of muscle-skeletal diseases but also is effective to enhance productivity.

This study presents the results of our analysis and recommendations for process and productivity improvements. The project studied consists of a 5-story research building, with a structure of steel frames supporting concrete slabs. The observations focused on the analysis of the overall erection and framing process. The methods used for the analysis consisted in intensive visits on site, where construction processes were observed in term of resources, activities, durations, materials' handling procedures, and technology used. Back to the office, authors used the information captured to model the different trades' activities, using work sampling and 5-minute rating technique. The work sampling provides insight into the activity, hence allowing for process improvements. The productivity of various trades is strongly dependent on the organization of the work process and work site conditions. Improving the productivity of the entire project or company is not possible until everyone is committed to improvement.

The project was undertaken to provide information on the present system of traditional pig farming in the South Pacific region, to identify the problems currently limiting productivity of such pigs and to offer practical strategies which could be used for increasing productivity of the animals. The problems were identified by surveying some 220 subsistence pig farms in eleven island countries in the South Pacific region using a prepared questionnaire. The units were found to be generally small, consisting of about 2-4 sows per herd. The productivity of the units as assessed in terms of sow reproductive efficiency was rather low, being only about 7.5. Feed, housing, breeding, disease, marketing, lack of capital, technical know-how and existing social traditions were identified as current constraints. Based on three of the most limiting factors identified namely feed, housing and breeding, strategies for improvement were developed on the basis of better and more effective use of locally available feed resources, better housing and genetic improvement through crossbreeding programmes. These improvement strategies were tested as a package model on some ten farms in two of the island countries. The results of these on-farm trials indicated that using the improvement strategies increased sow reproductive efficiency by approximately 60 percent, to nearly 12. The significance of these findings in the overall management of traditionally raised pigs in the South Pacific region is discussed.

This study deals with the procedure of safety improvement, productivity increase ,and tact-time reduction through setting up the system about preventive maintenance. Actually, it is hard to establish and carry out preventive maintenance, even though we recognize the importance of the system concerning time, cost, labor, and so forth. In this study in the viewpoint of cost we are for achieving maximum efficiency by change and reduction of planning process adapted to the special work group. At first we briefly will mention the kind ,the necessity ,and the concept of preventive maintenance ,and then divide the equipment used in the assembly line into the two whether it is necessary or not by way of estimating the breakdown loss ,comparing with general establishment of preventive maintenance and modifying it to the case. At the second step we will establish the operation system of plan management related to production and quality in the special case. Check period and category will be set by dividing the assembly equipment into LCL and Focus in the third step. The forth step will contain the operation procedure in detail. And then we must make check and repair record periodically. Finally, on the basis of the record the selection of checking of significance will be conducted. This results in safety improvement, tact time reduction, and productivity improvement.

This study analyzed the effect of on - the - job training of workers in Chungnam western area on productivity improvement. A total of 76 questionnaires were analyzed for workers in the western part of Chungcheongnam-do that completed the training course of the Korea Polytechnic University Education and Labor Ministry. The results of this study are as follows: First, the higher the motivation to receive the on - the - job training for the improvement of the productivity, the higher the satisfaction of the training of the worker, but the effect on the job productivity was not significant. Second, the correlation between training experience and job productivity was not statistically significant. Third, as for the effect on the productivity improvement according to the rank, the temporary workers showed higher education satisfaction than the regular workers (agency), and the job productivity was higher than the manager (manager level). Results of ANOVA analysis showed that there was a significant effect on educational satisfaction and job satisfaction according to years of work, career, and rank. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of on - the - job training of workers in the western part of Chungnam, on the productivity improvement, The validity of the study is significant.
