This study was conducted to evaluate the productivity of Korean native chicken (KNC) 2 strains crossbred. The number of chicks analyzed in this study was 300. Crossbreds used in this studywere A) KNC R strains ${\times}$ KNC meat type S strains, B) KNC egg-meat D strains ${\times}$ KNC meat type H strains, C) KNC egg-meat D strains ${\times}$ KNC meat type S strains, D) KNC egg-meat C strains ${\times}$ KNC native Y strains, and E) KNC native Y strains ${\times}$ KNC meat type H strains. The crossbreds C had the highest performance on body weight gains at 7~10 weeks but crossbreds D showed the lowest (p<0.05). The feed conversion ratio of crossbreds D was the highest value at every weeks (p<0.05). But the carcass weight and carcass ratio of crossbreds D was the lowest value at every weeks (p<0.05). For the percentage of cutted meat, the ranges of mean were 30.60~33.75% in breast, 21.48~24.72% in leg, 11.95~14.33% in wing, 21.91~25.83% in back and of 7.38~8.72% in neck. The percentage of cutted meat for leg was the highest value at every weeks (p<0.05). These results suggested that the development of new crossbreds should be necessary for better performance.

This study was conducted to determine grazing intensity of growing Korean native goats (Capra hircus coreanae) on mountainous pasture. It was carried out to obtain basic information for improvement of mountainous pasture management and establishing feeding system of Korean native goats. Castrated, male goats (n=10) with average initial body weight (BW) of $23.33{\pm}2.15kg$ and an average age of 4 months were used in this study. Grazing goats were supplemented by concentrates with 1.0% of BW. The crude protein content of forage was the highest in October ($22.71{\pm}0.25%$) and there were significantly differences (p<0.05) in monthly comparison. The forage productivity of pasture was the highest from May to June ($1718.7{\pm}207.5{\sim}1672.0{\pm}422.8kg/ha$ but it was decreased in July ($1356.0{\pm}103.8kg/ha$) because of drought and summer depression. Average daily gains (ADG) of goats were the highest in June ($99.5{\pm}6.4d/g$). Grazing intensity was calculated by forage productivity and dry matter intake (DMI) and was the highest in May (65 head/ha). As shown in the results of this research, grazing intensity was suggested to average 39 head/ha from May to October. It is desirable that adequate grazing intensity was maintained by adjusting supplemental feed.

Built-in measurement and control with the purpose of the application of each of the channels separately provided measurements are displayed on a monitor, And servo signals sent to each of the channels and it become so set function should be. In this paper, the laver drying device, prior to the laver thickness measurement and control devices that rely on the experience of existing workers directly laver manually adjust the thickness of the lever, but the lever by each channel relative to the actuator by installing was to improve the quality. In addition, The effect of productivity gains and labor savings are.
This study was conducted to examine effects of mating type on the growth traits in an $F_2$ population produced by reciprocal intercrosses between Landrace and the Jeju Native Black pig (JBP). The $F_2$ progeny were produced by two different mating types based on the grand dams of founder breeds JBP (Cross_1) and Landrace (Cross_2). The body weights at 21 days after birth (BW21D) was significantly different between Cross_1 and Cross_2 (P<0.05), showing that the BW21D of Cross_1 has about 0.25 kg heavier than Cross_2. The significant differences were found between males and females for the growth traits including the body weights (BWB, BW21D, BW70D and BW140D) and average daily gains (ADG, eADG and lADG) (P<0.05). Males were heavier BWB, BW21D and BW140D levels, and higher ADG and lADG levels than females. On the other hand, females had heavier BW70D and higher eADG levels than those of males. When considering the mating types and sex simultaneously the Cross_2 males had the heaviest BW140D among the combinations of cross and sex. In conclusion, it is desirable to choose Landrace as grand dams in the reciprocal intercrosses between Landrace and JBP for producing their progeny construction and to plan the production of $F_2$ males for industrial purposes. These results suggested that it may be one of useful strategies to improve the productivity through out selection of the mating type of founder breeds and the progeny sex, especially in Landrace, JBP and their related populations.

This study was carried out to identify the effect of the rate of botanical composition, dry matter yield and liveweight gain of horse by renewing low productive pasture. According to the first survey (5.11) before grazing, No.64 was the highest at 81%, followed by No.39 71%t and No.44 65%. For the second and third surveys, the rate of pasture was relatively low, except for No.64. Annual total DM production was the highest at No.44 13,459 kg/ha, then with No.64 and No.39, productivity was 13,232kg/ha and 12,042kg/ha, respectively. No.44 and No.39, the confluence of orchardgrass and perennial ryegrass, showed a sharp decline because of summer depression after the second survey. The livestock growth rate per 10,000 square meters was 70kg, compared with 47.5kg and 36.2kg, respectively. The daily livestock gains in No.39, No.44, and No.66 was 1.09 kg, 1.08 kg and 1.03 kg, respectively.

This experiment was carried out to estimate the nutritive value of mixed-sowing winter forage crop and whole crop barley by investigating the effects of feeding mixed-sowing winter forage crop and whole crop barley in KBG (Korean black goat) on feed intake, average daily body weight gain, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen retention. The 12 male KBG were divided into four experimental groups - i.e. T1: barley silage added group, T2: mixed-sowing hairy vetch silage added group, T3: mixed-sowing field peas added silage, T4: mixed-sowing Italian rye grass added silage group. Three KBG per each treatment were allotted into individual metabolic cages by Latin-square design. The results from this study are as follow. The DMI (dry matter intake) and organic matter intake in T4 were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those in T1 and T3 and crude protein intake in T4 also recorded the highest among treatments (p<0.05). The highest values in intakes of ADF and NDF were observed in T4 followed by T2, T1 and T3 in order. The average daily body weight gains in T4 and T2 were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those in TI and T3. The dry and organic matter digestibility in T2 and T4 were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those in T1 and T3. The crude protein digestibility in T1 was significantly (p<0.05) lower than those in T2 and T4. The nitrogen intakes in T2 and T4 were significantly (p<0.05) higher than those in T3. The results obtained from this study suggested that the feeds supplemented with whole crop barley with hairy vetch and Italian rye grass mixture silage increased KBG productivity resulted from increases in feed intake, nutrient digestibility and nitrogen retention.

This study examined the association between genotypes of the isocitrate dehydrogenase 3, beta subunit (IDH3B) gene and economic traits in an $F_2$ population of Duroc and Jeju (South Korea) native black pigs (JBPs). The genotypes was determined the presence/absence of a 304-bp insertion/deletion fragment in the promoter region of the IDH3B gene for JBP, Duroc, and their $F_1$ and $F_2$ progeny. Three genotypes (AA, AB and BB) were found in the $F_1$ and $F_2$ populations, but there was no AA genotype found in JBP and no BB in Duroc. Association analysis results showed the significant differences with carcass weights (CW), backfat thicknesses (BFT) and eye muscle area (EMA) (p<0.05), but not with growth traits including body weights and average daily gains at different stages, reproductive traits including teat numbers, and crude fat contents (CFAT) measured in longissimus dorsi (p>0.05). The $F_2$ pigs possessing the IDH3B BB homozygote had heavier CW ($72.92{\pm}11.133kg$), thicker BFT ($25.75{\pm}6.06mm$), and larger EMA ($23.82{\pm}4.825cm^2$) than those from the other genotypes (p<0.05). These results were estimated that there are biological roles related with IDH3B genotypes resulting development of EMA, BFT, and CW but not with intramuscular fat deposition during late period of pig production. Our findings suggest that the 304-bp insertion allele of porcine IDH3B may be a genetic marker for marker assistant selection for improving meat productivity of the Jeju Black pig and Duroc-related molecular breeding systems.
Multiparous Hanwoo cull cows have been generally regarded to have poor meat quality compared to young and primiparous Hanwoo in Korea, and there have been few studies attempting to understand various feeding programs for the multiparous Hanwoo cull cow. In this study, the effects of a feeding program consisting of two different diets for multiparous Hanwoo cull cows on meat production and quality were tested in comparison to a commercially used diet. Diets for treatment consisted of two levels of crude protein contents, 14.28% and 12.70% for early fattening and finishing, respectively. For a control, commercially used fattening feed (12.39% crude protein) was used. Feeding trials were performed at three different farms. In farm A, 29 herds of multiparous Hanwoo cull cows were used for the treatment group and 3 herds for the control. In farms B and C, the number of animal herds for treatment and control were 8 vs. 3 and 11 vs. 4 herds, respectively. Experiment diets were fed for an average of 211 days and in treatment, early fattening diet was fed for 4 months and then finishing feed was fed until slaughter. Average daily gains, thickness of back fat, area of Longissimus dorsi, carcass weight, index of carcass weight, intramuscular fat, meat color and texture were analyzed after slaughter. Random effect model [8] was employed in effect analysis. Positive effects of treatment were found in terms of average daily gain, back fat thickness, Longissimus dorsi area, carcass weight, and intramuscular fat. Carcass yield index, meat color and texture showed a negative effect. In this study, significant results were not found in all factors analyzed because the variance between experiment farms was large, however the 90% confidence interval of summary effects of ADG, back fat thickness, Longissimus dorsi area and carcass weight were significant and that of carcass yield index, intramuscular fat, meat color and texture were less so. Conclusively, a high protein diet fed early during the fattening period in multiparous Hanwoo cull cows could have positive effects on meat production.
