인장-전단 하중을 받는 점용접부의 피로 수명 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fatigue Life Evaluation of Spot Welded Joints under Tensile-Shear Loading)

  • The spot welding method has been used in the joining of structures, automotive body, railway carriage, aircraft, household electric appliances, precision parts etc., because of brief working, easy automation, available mass production, and convenience. In this paper, the effects of welding conditions on the fatigue life and the prediction of fatigue life based on fracture mechanics theory of spot welded joint were investigated. Fatigue tests were conducted with the tensile-shear specimens welded in the various current using cold rolled steel sheets. Fatigue life of spot welded joint was predicted and compared with experimental results. Using FEM(finite element method), we analysed the distribution of stress and the condition of deformation on the environments of nugget.

  • To evaluate the surface integrity of machined products such as die, the surface roughness measurement is being much used. Especially, for machining automation and promotion of productivity, the surface roughness measurement technique changes from sepatate measuring system after machining process to the on-the-machine measurement. This study is on the surface roughness measurement by using scattered lights for on-the-machine measurement. This system is designed with a simple optical construction. And experiments are implemented with standard roughness specimen to obtain the parameters which are specularly reflected region parameter and diffusely reflected region parameter. To determine the surface roughness quickly, neural network is used. And this system gives the possibility to apply to the various production processes.

  • This paper presents a method to measure tile position and orientation of a prismatic polyhedral object (of unknown width, length, height, and number of vertices) using machine vision. The width, length, and origin of workplace where an object is lying are defined as Preliminary operation. The edges of an object are detected from captured image using least sum of square error. The information of an object is determined from the geometric relationships between edges. As an user interface, a versatile image processing program is developed in several modules, and renders a very useful 3D measurement at a limited constraints when adopted in automation of production process. The flexibility of camera position from the algorithm developrf can be used for automated pick and place operations and feeding workpiece u: ;ing assembly robot.

  • For the evaluation of the DC motor noise and vibration, usually it is rely on human feeling because some kinds of noise are not definitely represented by measurement Instrument such as sound meter. But when we consider time signal of the noise and vibration. It is possible to represent them. And in this paper. it is suggested to study output current shape of the motor because it Is the source to make speed and torque variation of the motor. If the current shape is not stable. it makes operating state of the motor unstable and produces noise and vibration. By analyzing signal at time and frequency of noise and vibration and current shape. it is possible to automation of the noise and vibration measurement in the Production line.

  • In the past, the results of window cleaning work have been judged subjective and complaints about cleaning results are being raised. In this study, we tried to quantify the evaluation of the cleaning result. For the quantification of the evaluation, a colorimeter was selected and the basic experiment was carried out. In addition, this study examined the use of standard dust powder for artificial production of contaminants in glasses. Further evaluation and analysis will be carried out to quantify the evaluation criteria of the cleaning results.

  • This paper describes the development of a prototype expert system, which is designed to analyze loom production efficiency by employing a loom monitoring system. The problem field of the prototype expert system is the loom failure analysis which has a great effect on prouction efficiency, and the characteristic graph in which the loom failure causes are classified and organized, is used in the analysis. The knowledge for characteristic graph is organized, and an effective inference engine- is developed. The developed system is tested and modified using hypothetical loom failure causes, and the feasibility of the expert system application to extend the functions of the loom monitoring system is proved.

  • KEPCO Research Center is carrying out a simulator(full scope replica type) development project for two nuclear power plants(Kori-2, Younggwang-3,4) and one fossil power plant(Poryong-3,4). In this project, we aim not only the installation of high performance simulators at the power plant sites but also the realization of self reliance of power plant simulation technology in Korea. In the course of preparing procurement specification for the 3 simulators, the present status of power plant simulation technology has been surveyed and is presented in this paper. The fidelity of simulation and the automation of simulation model production has been greatly improved due to the ever increasing computing power of today's workstations. The need and importance of the application of high fidelity simulators to the operator training is refocused since the accident at TMI Nuclear Power Plant, U.S.A.

  • The automation and Cell-Line of manufacturing process are going to be new trend in the industry spot. But workers bodily burden by manual labour is still doing repeatedly at many processes. It is appearing to workers bodily burden (Shoulder, waist, hand, wrist, leg) with repeating works at assembly line which is from the static working space. The analysis with 6 Sigma Tool at specific standard assembly line improve the point at issue for unsuitable items and analyzed objects. Physical pain of worker is solved by the improvement action for the factor of 7 items with the result of analysis. It was known to be improved by solving of workers burden related to the change of 6 Sigma level from 2.16 to 4.1 at assembly line.
