  • With the rapid growth in the use of digital advertising media among consumers, there is an increasing interest in the utilization of virtual advertising and PPL as an alternative to traditional television advertising. Nonetheless, few studies have compared the effects of these new advertising platforms, still lacking knowledge on their relative effects for maximizing advertising effectiveness. This study, thus, intends to compare virtual advertising and PPL with respect to advertising effectiveness (i.e., consumer evaluations of advertising attributes, brand attitudes, and purchase intentions), controlling for the level of product involvement. An experiment was conducted with a sample of 360 participants and actual ads were used as test stimuli. According to the results, consumers exhibit more favorable evaluations on all the three advertising attributes (i.e., entertainment, informativeness, and irritation) for high-involvement products, whereas, for low-involvement products, virtual advertising is perceived to be more irritating than PPL. In particular, the effect of informational value of virtual advertising on brand attitudes was found to be most significant. In addition, for high-involvement products, virtual advertised products. Advertising practitioners may have to consider these results and fully utilize the advantages of virtual advertising and PPL in order to achieve maximum advertising effectiveness.

  • By considering the influences of PPL(Product Placement) commercial model on consumers' attitude to clothing brand as a commercial effect of PPL, this study intends to identify how much differently they take an attitude to clothing brands before and after exposed to PPL commercials, and also identify how much differently they take their attitude to the brands depending upon PPL commercial models. In the step of experimental design, a previous survey was performed to identify how consumers take their attitude to commercial models and brands before exposed to PPL commercials. And every subject was asked to watch video films with brand logos exposed. The results of experiment can be summarized as follows: After all subjects were exposed to PPL commercials, in general, their attitude to commercial models had more or less effects on the change of their attitude. Meanwhile, the interaction between their attitude to model and clothing brands respectively had somewhat significant influences only on brand recognition. This study verified that PPL commercial models had significant influences on consumers' attitude to brands. These results imply that a PPL commercial strategy in fashion industry should be made focusing on the respective roles of PPL commercial models.

  • With recent development of internet, a lot of people use online games through internet networks. Since people that utilize the online games increase, a special company and an advertisement company adopt the PPL(Product in Placement) on online game instead of the advertisement through TV or radio. This paper persents applications of the PPL on online games and problems which was occurred by them. We propose an advertisement system architecture which processes it efficiently. To prove that our proposed PPL system on online game is efficient, we process various questionnaires on PPL efficacy in online game and analyze them.

By the setting types(on-set and creative) and exposure times(short and long), 308 female older than 20 were divided into 4 experimental groups. Each groups were exposed to the edited movies and required to answer the questionaire. The data were analysed by SPSS 12.0 using Chi-Square, One-Way ANOVA and Duncan test. The results are as follows. First, in cognitive dimension, the on-set type and long exposure group showed the higher recognition and recall. Second, in emotional dimension, the signigicant difference was found in one brand(Kappa) of two which were used in the experiment. In this case, the on-set type and long exposure group showed the positive attitude toward the brand. Third, in behavioral dimension, there were no difference among the groups. The implications based on this results are as follows. First, when implementing of PPL the fashion brands in movies, the on-set type and long exposure would be the most effective method. Second, implementing IMC(Integrated Marketing Communication) linked to the PPL strategy can be more effective. In contrast to the other product categories, it is hard to recognize the brand of fashion goods if the logo or the brand name is not exposed directly. Therefore Combining other communication strategies such as press release simultaneously will birng the more effective result of PPL in the movie.
