  • Concurrent behaviors of multithreaded programs cannot be described effectively by automata-based models. Thus, concurrent program intrusion attempts cannot be detected. To address this problem, we proposed the process algebra-based detection model for multithreaded programs (PADMP). We generate process expressions by static binary code analysis. We then add concurrency operators to process expressions and propose a model construction algorithm based on process algebra. We also present a definition of process equivalence and behavior detection rules. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can accurately detect errors in multithreaded programs and has linear space-time complexity. The proposed method provides effective support for concurrent behavior modeling and detection.

  • It is a daunting task to theorize the process effectiveness of IT convergence based service model. Despite the criticalness of investigating process enhancement impact of IT-convergence based service model, the theoretical research in this field is relatively scarce, possibly due to the too wide and comprehensiveness of research scope. In this vein, we conducted exploratory study to understand the contributional impact of IT convergence based service model on resolving service process limitations. We first identified five IT convergence based service models in the area of typical service industry, which include entertainment, learning, location based services, tourism, and healthcare. Our research model classified value creation factors of the IT convergence model in twofold. The one is defined as basic value creation factor of the IT convergence, which is treated as the second-order factor that consists of two first-order factors of mobile functionality and Internet with digital contents merging functionality. The other is defined as service process limitations resolving factor which are comprised with the two first-order factors of simultaneousity and perishability. Both the second-order factors are modeled, each respectively, with the two first-order factors in formative manner. Using PLS, empirical validation is executed to analyze each value creating factor's contribution impact on the relative advantage, as well as the mediating effect of basic value creation factor on resolving service process limitations. On the basis of the insights revealed from this paper, further theory building research could be elaborated in the area of IT convergence applications for service industry.

  • This paper presents an SBA (simulation-based acquisition) effectiveness analysis environment using the RUP (Relational Unified Process) model. The RUP model has 4 phases which cover the whole development steps such as requirement analysis, design, development and test. By applying the RUP model, SW development can be represented with the iterations of developments for each phase. Such a characteristics of the model would make the model suitable for defense acquisition. In this paper, we show the relation between the RUP model and V process model, which is the foundation for defense acquisition. In order to show how the model could be applied to SBA effectiveness analysis, graphical user interfaces for the analysis are presented at the end of the paper.

  • The IPSE(Integrated Project Support Environment) tool can be seen as a result of an attempt to synthesize the key aspects of language-centered, specific methodology-based and toolkit oriented environments, which are current CASE tools into an organic whole. The IPSE approach based on a process model is regarded as an effective way to implement integrated CASE. The PM-CASE(Process Model based CASE) tool is currently a prototype which draw diagrams describing processes by using a new modeling technique. Attributes related with a task of withen the process model should be defined an saved the database. These attributed are used to retrieve the information of products, and to call the tool related which the task. In this paper, TSEE(Process centered Software Engineering Environment) tools are compared and analyzed. By describing the basic concept, architecture and design of PM-CASE tool, a method of building an process model-based CASE tool is proposed be support an effect software development and management.

  • The problem surrounding methods of implementing the software testing process has come under the spotlight in recent times. However, as compliance with the software testing process does not necessarily bring with it immediate economic benefits, IT companies need to pursue more aggressive efforts to improve the process, and the software industry needs to makes every effort to improve the software testing process by evaluating the Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi). Furthermore, as the software test process is only at the initial level, high-quality software cannot be guaranteed. This paper applies TMMi model to Automobile control software testing process, including test policy and strategy, test planning, test monitoring and control, test design and execution, and test environment goal. The results suggest improvement of the automobile control software testing process based on Test maturity model. As a result, this study suggest IT organization's test process improve method.

  • A on-line optimization scheme based on model in a binary distillation process is proposed. A reduced-order model utilized the concept of collocation is used as a process model and the recursive prediction error method is employed to identify the reduced-order model. The concentrations of end products are controlled by nonlinear adaptive predictive control algorithm. The objective function is constructed to find optimum operate condition for saving utility cost. The proposed optimization is scheme is tested through simulation studies in 13-staged water-methanol distillation column.

  • Since it is really hard to construct process models based on prior process knowledges, various statistical approaches have been employed to build fault diagnosis models. However, the crucial drawback of these approaches is that the solutions may vary according to the fault magnitude, even if the same fault occurs. In this study, the parameter monitoring approach is suggested. When a fault occurs in a chemical process, this leads to trigger the change of a process model and the monitoring parameters of process models is able to provide the efficient fault diagnosis model. A few important variables are selected and their predictive models are constructed by partial least square (PLS) method. The Euclidean norms of parameters of PLS models are estimated and a fault diagnosis can be performed as comparing with parameters of PLS models based on normal operational conditions. To improve the monitoring performance, cumulative summation (CUSUM) control chart is employed and the changes of model parameters are recorded to identify the type of an unknown fault. To verify the efficacy of the proposed model, Tennessee Eastman (TE) process is tested and this model can be easily applied to other complex processes.

  • In this paper, we propose a design method of PID adaptive controller based on frequency domain analysis. The method is based on the estimation of a nonparametric process model in the frequency domain and the determination of the PID controller parameters by achieving partial model matching so as to minimize a performance function concerning to relative model error between the loop transfer function of the control system and the desired system. In the design method the process is represented only by a discrete set of points on the Nyquist curve of the process. Therefore it is not necessary to estimate a full order parameterized process model.

  • A web-based information system, that is a dominant type of information systems, suffers from the “web crisis” in development and maintenance of the system. To cope with the problem, a technology of reengineering to web-based business process, which is one of web engineering, is strongly needed. In this paper, we propose a BPN(Business Process Net) model and reengineering guides along with an application example, which are used for modeling web-based business processes and migrating to web-based information system. BPN model is a type of not only a Beta-distributed stochastics Petri net, but also an executable Activity diagram. BPN is modeled by using the Use Case analysis method and the Beta-distribution. The later is used for the purpose of modeling the uncertainty of execution time and cost of a business process. BPN model and reengineering heuristics might be used as a formal common model for business process specification languages, and analysis and design method for Web-based Information system, respectively.

  • Purpose: To derive the optimal conditions for the Rubber based colloidal suspension manufacturing process, which made using a stirrer, to apply the mixture design method. Methods: We used two process component and one process variable Mixture design to derive the optimal conditions for the process. The response variables were selected for rotational viscometer measures which can represent Rubber based colloidal suspension quality. The input variables were selected as the values of rubber-organic solvent expressed in proportions as process components and stirring amount as a process variable which are controllable factors in the process. Results: Based on the results of the experiment, rubber and organic solvent and the interaction between stirring amount and rubber and the interaction between stirring amount and rubber and organic solvent were significant. Reproducibility of the regression model was confirmed by the observation that the values obtained from the reproducibility experiment fell within the confidence interval. Additionally, the model predictions were found to be in close agreement with the field measurements. Conclusion: In this study, a regression model was developed to predict the viscosity change of colloidal suspensions based on the proportion of rubber based colloidal suspension. The developed regression model can lead to improved product quality.
