A Study on Relationship among Knowledge State, IT Support, Knowledge Sharing Process and Outcomes in Startup Teams

  • Start-ups do not have enough resources such as financial capital and established customer base. Knowledge base of start-up team members is the crucial and unrivaled resource. This study tries to explicate the knowledge sharing process occurring in this knowledge base of start-up teams. Adopting the knowledge process view, detail process of knowledge sharing process model is constructed consisting of knowledge sharing speed, quality and quantity in a form of nomological net and empirically tested. In addition, preceding antecedents and consequential outcomes of this knowledge sharing is also posited as part of the research model : knowledge state of the team leading to team creativity and agility via the explicated knowledge sharing process model. Also, as this knowledge based view are triggered by the advance of IT in general, IT support is conceptualized as an antecedent and measures are operationalized. 230 data points were collected from start-up teams. Via data analysis using PLS, theoretical relationships from knowledge state, IT support, knowledge sharing process and knowledge consequences are found to be empirically supported except a few not supported. Most of all, team agility and team creativity are theoretically supported and empirically validated as critical outcome variables beyond performance measures. Though agility and creativity has been discussed as critical construct in start-up teams, it has not be much validated empirically. Also, interestingly, IT support are found to be significantly impacting the knowledge sharing process as expected. Academic contributions and implications for practice are discussed at the end with limitations and further research.

  • In order to solve problems in an uncertain and complicated management environment of the modern world, a creative solution that combines diverse perspectives, knowledge, and effort based on diversity within an organization is required. Smart work environment provides an opportunity to express the potential diversity of an individual, extending the source of ideas to the organization, enhancing communication, and linking and sharing information and knowledge. So, this results in increased creative behavior. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the process of connecting and sharing information and knowledge of organizational members on creative behavior and the effect of smart work environment in the process. The purpose of this study is to identify roles of job autonomy, self-efficacy, knowledge sharing and smart work environment in creative process. For the study, 353 surveys with work use group(156 people) and unused group(197 people). Statistical analysis included validity and reliability analysis, structural model analysis. The results showed that self-efficacy and job autonomy had positive effects on creative behavior and knowledge sharing, and job autonomy had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Knowledge sharing has a positive effect on creative behavior, and mediates the relationship between self-efficacy, job autonomy and creative behavior. Particularly, knowledge sharing has a more positive effect on smart work use group. In case of smart work use group, self-efficacy and job autonomy have a relatively high influence on knowledge sharing rather than direct influence on creative behavior appear. This result implies that the achievements of smart work are revealed in terms of knowledge sharing and creative behavior.

Using Analytic Network Process to Construct Evaluation Indicators of Knowledge Sharing Effectiveness in Taiwan's High-tech Industries

  • High-tech industry has been the principal economic source for Taiwan in recent years. The characteristics of high-tech industries in Taiwan are changeable product markets, short product life cycles and high company attrition rate. In the globalization trend, the high-tech industry has gradually increased corporate competitiveness and reached the goal of sustainable operations through knowledge management, knowledge sharing and new product research and development. Firms have aggressively strengthened and integrated their internal and external resources and enhanced knowledge sharing to increase industry operational performance. Effectively strengthening the knowledge management operation and performance evaluation of knowledge sharing in Taiwan's high-tech industry has become a critical issue. In the selection of knowledge sharing Key Performance Indicators (KPI), this research divided the knowledge sharing indicators into representative strategic indicators such as organizational knowledge learning, organizational knowledge resources, organizational information capacity and organizational knowledge performance through screening using Factor Analysis. The characteristics of the constructs were interdependent. This research calculated and adjusted the correlation among the key performance knowledge sharing indicators using ANP and determined the relative weight of knowledge sharing.

트리맵을 이용한 비즈니스 프로세스 수행자간 업무공유 관계 시각화 (Treemapping Work-Sharing Relationships among Business Process Performers)

  • 최근에 비즈니스 인텔리전스 분야에서 비주얼 애널리틱스의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 비즈니스 인텔리전스 관점에서 비주얼 애널리틱스는 다양한 관점의 비즈니스 관련 정보를 인터랙티브한 형태로 시각화함으로써 의사결정에 유용한 인사이트들을 획득하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 논문에서는 트리맵을 이용하여 비즈니스 프로세스 수행자들간의 업무공유 관계들을 시각화하는 방법을 제안한다. 업무공유 관계는 비즈니스 프로세스의 특정 단위 업무에 공통적으로 참여하는 두 수행자간에 형성되는 연결 관계로서, 프로세스 기반 조직의 구조 및 행동 패턴을 이해하는 데에 중요한 요소이다. 이를 위해, 비즈니스 프로세스의 기본적인 계층적 정보와 수행자간 업무공유 관계를 트리맵의 형태로 나타내는 시각화 도구를 설계 및 구현하였다. 최종적으로 XPDL (XML Process Definition Language) 프로세스 모델을 이용한 실행 예제를 통해 시각화 도구의 유용성을 검증하였다.

조립 공정을 위한 로봇-사람 간 작업 공유 시스템 (Robot-Human Task Sharing System for Assembly Process)

  • Assembly tasks are difficult to fully automate due to uncertain errors occurring in unstructured environments. When assembling parts such as electrical connectors, advances in grasping and assembling technology have made it possible for the robot to assemble the connectors without the aid of humans. However, some parts with tight assembly tolerances should be assembled by humans. Therefore, task sharing with human-robot interaction is emerging as an alternative. The goal of this concept is to achieve shared autonomy, which reduces the efforts of humans when carrying out repetitive tasks. In this study, a task-sharing robotic system for assembly process has been proposed to achieve shared autonomy. This system consists of two parts, one for robotic grasping and assembly, and the other for monitoring the process for robot-human task sharing. Experimental results show that robots and humans share tasks efficiently while performing assembly tasks successfully.

부유층의 기부과정에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Evolving Process of Wealthy Major Donors' Sharing Lives in Korea)

  • 이 연구는 근거이론 방법을 활용하여 부유층의 기부과정을 분석한 것이다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 자산규모 10억 이상의 부유층 중 사회복지관련 비영리조직에 지난 5년 동안 지속적으로 매년 1,000만원 이상을 기부해 온 연구참여자 11명을 선정하여 심층 인터뷰하였다. 자료분석 결과, 부유층의 기부과정에 대해 총 161개의 개념이 나타났고, 이를 33개의 하위범주, 14개의 상위범주로 유목화 할 수 있었다. 부유층의 기부과정에 관한 패러다임모형에서는 '기억과 관찰을 통해 배우고' '내 도리(道理)를 자각하며' '마음이 동(動)하는' 인과적 조건을 통해, '누린 자로서의 나눔을 실천하는' 중심현상이 발현되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 중심현상의 맥락적 조건은 '사람들의 평가를 의식함', '제한된 기부정보를 가짐', '기부환경을 불신함' 등이었으며, '관계의 활용' 및 '적극성의 배가(倍加)'로 구성되는 작용/상호작용 전략의 중재조건으로는 '내외적 지지받음'과 '신념에 의해 추동(推動)됨' 인 것으로 분석되었다. 그 결과로서 부유층은 기부를 통해 진정한 부자가 된 것 같은 감정을 갖으며, 기부가 삶의 일부이고, 더 나은 미래를 희망하는 결과를 경험하는 것으로 분석되었다. 부유층 기부과정의 핵심범주는 '누린 것을 나누는 관대한(generous) 나눔'이었으며, 이는 부유층의 기부가 이타적이라기보다는 도덕적 자기이익 추구 방향에서의 관대함 실천이라는 특성을 가지고 있음을 보여주는 것이다. 과정분석에서는 부유층이 기부를 시작하는 들어섬 단계에서 일상적 행함의 단계를 거쳐, 기부가 점진적으로 확대되는 순환적 진화단계를 통해 결국 체화의 단계에 이르는 것으로 분석되었다. 이 과정에서 부유층의 기부유형은 적극적 몰입형, 생활내재형, 주변학습형, 감정적동조형 등으로 구분되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 국내에서 처음으로 부유층의 기부과정을 근거이론 방법을 활용하여 심층적 이해를 구축하면서 그 과정 및 유형, 상황모형 등을 구체적으로 밝힘으로써 부유층 기부에 관한 이론구축 및 고액모금전략 개발에 의미 있는 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

지속의도와 과거행위가 핵심 사용자의 지식공유 지속여부 및 빈도에 미치는 효과: 네이버 지식인 사례 (Influences of Continuance Intention and Past Behavior on Active Users' Knowledge Sharing Continuance and Frequency: Naver Knowledge-iN case)

  • 사용자가 컨텐츠의 소비자에 그치는 것이 아니라 생산자 역할까지 담당하는 웹 2.0 시대에는 사용자의 지속적 컨텐츠 생산이 온라인 사이트의 성공에 핵심 요소가 된다. 온라인 Q&A 사이트는 웹 2.0 트렌드의 대표적 사례로, 고품질의 지식을 반복적으로 공유하는 핵심 사용자들이 지속적으로 지식을 공유하도록 하는 것이 사이트의 성패를 결정짓는다. 본 연구는 핵심 사용자의 지식공유 지속행위를 유발하는 두가지 경로, 즉 지속의도로 대표되는 정교한 의사결정 과정(elaborate decision process)와 과거행위로 대표되는 자동화된 인지적 과정(automated cognitive process)을 제안하였다. 네이버 지식인의 핵심 사용자 337인의 주관적 의도 데이터와 객관적 온라인 행동 데이터를 수집한 뒤, 지속의도와 과거행위의 직접효과 및 둘 간의 조절효과를 검증해 보았다. 종속변수로 이전 연구에서 주로 사용되었던 지식공유 빈도를 측정하는 것과 더불어, 특정 기간 이상 답변활동이 없을 경우 지식공유를 중단한 것으로 판단하는 지식공유 지속여부를 측정하였다. 콕스비례위험 회귀분석과 음이항 회귀분석을 사용하여 지속의도와 과거행위가 지속행위의 두가지 유형에 미치는 효과를 살펴본 결과, 지식공유 지속여부에는 과거행위만 유의한 영향력을 보였으며, 지식공유 빈도에는 지속의도와 과거행위 모두 유의한 영향력을 보였다. 또한, 과거행위가 지속의도의 지식공유 빈도에 대한 영향력을 부정적으로 조절하는 것까지 확인할 수 있었다. 온라인 Q&A 사이트에서 핵심 사용자들의 지식공유 행위를 지속시키기 위해서는 꾸준한 지식공유를 통해 습관화 과정을 거치는 것이 중요하며, 지식공유 빈도를 높이고자 할 경우에는 습관화와 더불어 지식공유 지속의도를 높일 수 있는 적절한 혜택의 마련이 필요하다.

웹 서비스 기술을 활용한 국제 표준 기반의 플랜트 데이터 저장소의 구현 (Construction of an International Standard-Based Plant Data Repository Utilizing Web Services Technology)

  • As the market becomes increasingly globalized and competition among companies increases in severity, various specialized organizations are participating across the process plant lifecycle, including the stages of design, construction, operation and maintenance, and dismantlement, in order to ensure efficiency and elevate competitiveness. In this regard, it is an important technical issue to develop services or information systems for sharing process plant data among participating organizations. ISO 15926 is an international standard for integration of lifecycle data for process plants including oil and gas facilities. ISO 15926 Part 7, a part of the ISO 15926 standard, specifies an implementation method called a facade that uses Web Services and ontology technologies for constructing plant data repositories and related services, with the aim of sharing lifecycle data of process plants. This paper discusses the ISO 15926-based prototype facade implemented for storing equipment data of nuclear power plants and servicing the data to interested organizations.

Extended Equal Service and Differentiated Service Models for Peer-to-Peer File Sharing

  • Peer-to-peer (P2P) systems have proved the most effective and popular file sharing applications in recent years. Previous studies mainly focused on equal service and differentiated service strategies when peers have no initial data before their downloads. For an upload-constrained P2P file sharing system, we model both the equal service process and the differentiated service process when the initial data distribution of peers satisfies some special conditions. Moreover, we show how to minimize the time required to distribute the file to any number of peers. The proposed fluid-based models can reveal the intrinsic relations among the initial data amount, the peer set size, and the minimum last finish time. The closed-form expressions derived from the extended models can closely approximate chunk-based models and systems, especially for relatively large files. As an application of the extended models, we show how to provide differentiated service efficiently to multiple peer sets. Since no limits are imposed on the upload bandwidth of peers or the size of each peer set, we believe that our analytic process and the results achieved can provide not only fundamental insights into bandwidth allocation and data scheduling but also a helpful reference for both improving system performance and building an effective incentive mechanism for P2P file sharing systems.

자기주도성과 자기효능감이 지식구축 프로세스와 웹사이트 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Self-directedness and Self-efficacy on Knowledge Building Process and Website Loyalty)

  • In this study, we try to explain the impacts of self-directedness and self-efficacy on individual knowledge building process and website loyalty. To verify empirically the proposed research model. first, we reviewed literatures on self-directedness, self-efficacy, knowledge building process, and website loyalty. Second, we performed a survey with questionnaires to undergraduate school students, graduate school students, professionals, and office workers who search information frequently using website. Third, on the basis of collected 221 data, measurement model and structural goodness-of-fit of the research model were verified with, SEM analysis using Lisrel 8.54 version. We found important results such that self-directedness impacted information sharing and elaboration, self-efficacy affected information sharing and knowledge building, and information sharing and knowledge building improved website loyalty.
