COLLABORATIVE PROCESS PLANNING AND FLOW ANALYSIS FOR AUTOMOTIVE ASSEMBLY SHOPS

  • To maintain competitiveness in the modern automotive market, it is important to carry out process planning concurrently with new car development processes. Process planners need to make decisions concurrently and collaboratively in order to reduce manufacturing preparation time for developing a new car. Automated generation of a simulation model by using the integrated process plan database can reduce time consumed for carrying out a simulation and allow a consistent model to be used throughout. In this research, we developed a web-based system for concurrent and collaborative process planning and flow analysis for an automotive general assembly using web, database, and simulation technology. A single integrated database is designed to automatically generate simulation models from process plans without having to rework the data. This system enables process planners to evaluate their decisions quickly, considering various factors, and easily share their opinions with others. By using this collaborative system, time and cost put into the assembly process planning can be reduced and the reliability of the process plan would be improved.

  • Defense analysis & evaluation includes menace analysis, validation analysis, problem analysis, scientific technical analysis, technical trad-off analysis, alternative analysis, cost analysis, etc. Reliable related data is required to perform these analysis activities efficiently. but in case of these defense analysis & evaluation data acquisition system, the data is insufficient and scattered about each organization. the data of database system is also not utilized sufficiently. abroad technical data is also low level data such as catalog or military officer's collection. therefore, this paper propose defense analysis & evaluation data acquisition system by systems engineering process. we also propose construction method of data acquisition system.

  • Due to the localization process of offshore drilling system, ensuring safety has emerged as an important. Therefore, step by stem safety analysis about each development process of offshore drilling system is becoming compulsory. Hazard and operability analysis is a method that was successfully used for system safety analysis in industries such as chemical plants. Through this hazard and operability analysis study, to conduct step by step safety analysis accorsing to process, the study conducted hazard and operability analysis in Lp mud system, an area of offshore drilling system.

  • Lately the Infill Modular Construction System which meets the domestic standards about the structure and fireproof performance and which is applied to the remodeling techniques is being emphasized. In order to introduce the Infill Modular Construction System to domestic market successfully, the development of insufficient element technologies and systematic analysis of process should be preceded. This research aims to establish of Standard Construction Process, as advanced research for the settlement of the Infill Modular Construction System. As advanced research for the activation of the Infill Modular Construction System, this research aims to develop Infill Unit Module's mobile device. This is expected to improve work efficiency. In addition organizing optimized Standard Construction Process by steady work analysis and improvement is being planned.

  • The use of Pre-processor for building structural analysis used to rely upon filling up fixed format data, which was ineffective and error-prone. This research attempts to integrate structural analysis system with DBMS and CAD system in order to make it easy to exchange data between pre-process, analysis, and post-process stages. Automatic generation of database from pre-process stage allows easy preparation of main input data for other structural analysis programs. CAD system with some sub-programs written in LISP and C works as a graphic user interface. This approach gives an easy, effective and error-free way of inputing data for structural analysis.

Development of partial liquefaction system for liquefied natural gas carrier application using exergy analysis

  • The cargo handling system, which is composed of a fuel gas supply unit and cargo tank pressure control unit, is the second largest power consumer in a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carrier. Because of recent enhancements in ship efficiency, the surplus boil-off gas that remains after supplying fuel gas for ship propulsion must be reliquefied or burned to regulate the cargo tank pressure. A full or partial liquefaction process can be applied to return the surplus gas to the cargo tank. The purpose of this study is to review the current partial liquefaction process for LNG carriers and develop new processes for reducing power consumption using exergy analysis. The developed partial liquefaction process was also compared with the full liquefaction process applicable to a LNG carrier with a varying boil-off gas composition and varying liquefaction amounts. An exergy analysis showed that the Joule-Thomson valve is the key component needed for improvements to the system, and that the proposed system showed an 8% enhancement relative to the current prevailing system. A comparison of the study results with a partial/full liquefaction process showed that power consumption is strongly affected by the returned liquefied amount.

  • The purpose of this study Management Effectiveness Analysis of Construction Process Management. This study is to analyze the effects that process management has in outcome has been done by setting 5 elements of process management system as independent variables, making hypothesis, surveying and analyzing. The results of this analysis showed that process management operation level can be measured effectively through the application of Business Process Management System, and Process management strategy is found out to be contributed to improving strategy operation support, process management and IT connection technology. By seeing this research result, through optimally applying 'process management' in construction industry, process management can be used to improve the construction industry's potential competitiveness by improving effectiveness in works in the fields of strategy operation, process management, IT connection etc. So, by practically verifying the effectiveness of 'process management system', the purpose of this research is to come up with the necessity and the development of 'process management system' in construction industry.
