  • The article considers aspects of improving the quality of training of specialists based on the use of modern information and communication technologies in the educational process; the use of teaching methods and, as a result, an increase in the creative and intellectual components of educational activities; integration of various types of educational activities (educational, research, etc.); adaptation of information technology training to individual the characteristics of the student; ensuring continuity and consistency in learning; development of information technologies for distance learning; improving the software and methodological support of educational process.

Students' Satisfaction and University Reputation through Service Quality in Private Higher Educational Institutions in Bangladesh

  • Educational institutions play a critical role in national development through the advancement of skilled human resources and intellectual society. The number of higher educational institutions (HEIs) is increasing significantly in Bangladesh. Students have a number of options from which to select their preferred educational institutions. Hence, HEIs should think about the quality of services they provide to students. The objective of this study is to measure students' satisfaction and university reputation through service quality (SQ) in a private higher educational institution (PriHEI) in Bangladesh. Primary data was collected from 270 students of International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Bangladesh, through a simple random sampling technique. In this study, data was analyzed through descriptive statistics, correlation, measurement model using confirmatory factor analyses, and structural equation modeling (SEM). The results showed that transport services have indirect but medical and physical facilities have both direct and indirect significant effects on overall students' satisfaction. Further, the administrative services and research facilities have significant indirect effects on overall students' satisfaction. Finally, the results of structural equation modeling (SEM) confirm that the reputation of the university is directly associated with overall students' satisfaction.

  • The article discusses the use of modern technologies in the learning process. It has been determined that the modern period of the development of society is characterized by a strong influence of computer technologies on it, a new education system is being formed, focused on entering the world information and educational space. This process is accompanied by significant changes in the pedagogical theory and practice of the educational process associated with making adjustments to the content of learning technologies, which should be adequate to modern technical capabilities, and contribute to the harmonious entry of a teenager into the information society. Computer technologies are designed to become not an additional "makeweight" in training, but an integral part of a holistic educational process, significantly increasing its effectiveness

The Marketing Model Applying the Concepts of Educational Psychology in the Private Educational Service Sector

  • Purpose: A marketing strategy for private institutions requires marketers to leverage consumer behaviors and educational psychologies when advertising and promoting product portfolios. Indeed, understanding consumers can make marketers more effective, and the purpose of this research is to tackle private institutions' education marketing by combining marketing theories and learning theories. Research design, data and methodology: The content analysis used in this study will be suitable because there exists numerous prior studies regarding marketing strategy and educational theories. Therefore, the current author could obtain and collect adequate textual facts from much of the literature review. Results: Marketing strategies that are mixed with educational theories increase consumer enrolment due to perceived usefulness, and this implies that an adequate marketing model could help improve sustainability and income as a result of enrollment in private educational institutions. The research also identified that marketing is connected to psychology and that marketers can exploit educational and psychological theories to increase successful enrolment in private educational institutions. Conclusions: Most importantly, the target market for private educational institutions is diverse, and institutions can use direct marketing to appeal to specific audiences. Also, the research implies that diversification strategies can increase enrolment if marketers exploit behavioral learning theories in the marketing process.

  • The article presents the idea that in the conditions of modernization of higher professional education, there is an obvious contradiction between the practical need of higher education for a scientifically grounded theory and methodology of distance learning for students and the lack of the necessary didactic and content-methodological guidelines for its implementation. In theoretical research and applied development, as a rule, the technocratic approach prevails. The emphasis is on the technical capabilities of modern computers and telecommunications. Productively, from a pedagogical point of view, this contradiction can be resolved on the basis of modeling distance learning management for students, developing and implementing a corporate information educational environment in universities, increasing the effectiveness of the methodology of pedagogical interaction between students and teachers during the implementation of distance learning.

보충교육서비스 요금의 신용카드 결제 실태 (The Rate of Credit Card Payment for Private Extracurricular Education in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the rate of credit card payment for private education. The results of study can be used to improve credit card handling problems of private educational institutes, leading toward improvements in income transparency, increase in tax burden equity and long-term economic welfare improvement for individual households. 424 households out of 586 household that were surveyed in September of 2002 had 1,700 cases private extracurricular education. 67 of the 1,700 cases that did not have expenditure records were removed from the analysis. Only 3.67% out of 1,633 cases were paid by a credit cards and the amount of credit card payment were only 5.65% of the total amount spent for private education. The average fee of private educational institutes that allow credit card payment was higher than the fees of private institutes which don't allow a credit card payment or those of private institutes where consumers don't know whether a credit card payment was allowed. The average fee of private education paid by credit cards was 34,465.46 won higher than that paid by cash. Credit card payments to private educational institutions is an important social issue with respect to fair tax collection and tax burden equity since most private educational services operate in fairly small sizes and are offered by the self-employed, and the expense of private education is a fairly large proportion of the household income. It is also important for consumers if credit card acceptance expands alternatives that consumers can choose in private education. Therefore, credit card payment should be encouraged in private extracurricular education. To do this, private education providers should be forced to join a credit card payment service by the National Tax Service. A regulation that prohibits the refusal of credit card payments should be required, and credit card service charges of private education providers should be incrementally decreased. Also, consumer education and public promotions for credit card use instead of cash in paying for private education fees are recommended.

  • The major purpose of this study was to investigate chief's perception of institution management according to the types of the institution for the child care and education. The subjects for the analysis were 220 chiefs who actually run the institutions for the child care and education, including kindergarten, private nursery, group day care home, and private educational institute. The data were analyzed by the five different methods, which were frequency, percentage, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA and Scheffe test, using the 7.5 version of SPSSWIN program. The major research results were that (1) the chiefs of the institutions for the child care and education have suffered many difficulties in the administrative and financial respects ; (2) the main area in need of the government's assistance is either that of personnel expenses for teachers or that of expenditures necessary for improving their status ; and (3) on the whole chief's perception of institution management differed by the types of the institution for the child care and education.

안양시 평촌 학원가의 교육 서비스 실태 및 공간 범위에 관한 연구 (Study on the Reality of the Private Educational Institute Street and the Spatial Range of its Service in Pyeongchon, Anyang-si)

  • 본 연구는 안양시 평촌 학원가의 입시 보습학원을 대상으로 평촌 학원가의 형성 과정 및 실태를 분석하고, 학원의 입지 요인, 학원 서비스의 공간 범위, 그리고 학원 수요자의 공간 행태를 분석하고자 하였다. 첫째, 평촌 학원가의 주요 입지 요인은 학원가 지역으로서의 명성, 대규모 주거지와의 거리, 지가 및 임대료로 나타난 한편, 다른 학원과의 거리, 우수한 강사진 확보의 편리함은 크게 고려하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학원 서비스의 공간 범위를 살펴보면, 1차 학원의 서비스 공간 범위는 최대 수원시(반경 10km)까지 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 반경 6km 이내 지역에 서비스의 영향력이 집중되었다. 2차 및 3차 학원은 최대 약 6km 범위까지 영향을 미쳤다. 2차 학원은 평촌 신시가지를 포함하는 약 2km 반경에, 3차 학원의 경우 약 1km 반경에 그 영향력이 집중되었다. 셋째, 학원 수요자의 공간 행태를 분석한 결과 1차 학원 수강생들은 통원버스와 버스를 이용하여 주로 20~40분 이내의 통원시간을 할애하며, 2차 및 3차 학원의 수강생들은 주로 버스와 도보를 이용하여 주로 20분 이내에 통원시간이 소요되는 것으로 나타났다.

Students' Perspective (Stream Wise) of Parameters Affecting the Undergraduate Engineering Education: A Live Study

  • Purpose - The study aims to examine the students' perspective (stream wise) of parameters affecting the undergraduate engineering education system present in a private technical institution in NCR, Haryana, India. Research design, data, and methodology - It is a descriptive type of research in nature. Questionnaire Based Survey has been used to collect the data. The sample size for the study is 500 comprising of the students respondents. The sample has been taken randomly and the questionnaire was filled by the students (pursuing B. Tech) chosen on the random basis from a private technical educational institution in NCR, Haryana, India. For data analysis and conclusion of the results of the survey, statistical tool like F test was performed with the help of high quality software; SPSS. Conclusion - Analysis of variance revealed statistically no difference between the mean number of the groups (stream wise) for the parameters "Selection", "Academic Excellence", "Infrastructure", "Personality Development and Industry Exposure" and "Management and Administration". While Analysis of variance revealed statistically difference between the mean numbers of the groups for the parameter "Placements".

민간대통령기록관 김대중도서관 기록정보서비스 현황과 과제 (The Status and Challenges of the Archival Information Services of the Kim Dae-jung Presidential Library's Private Presidential Archives)

  • 김대중도서관은 아시아 최초의 대통령도서관으로 25만여 점의 사료를 소장하고 있는 민간대통령기록관이다. 주로 김대중 전직 대통령의 생애, 근현대사, 민주화 등에 관련한 기록물을 수집하고 있으며 이를 관리하고 활용하여 사료사업, 전시사업, 연구사업 등을 진행하고 있다. 국내 민간대통령기록관은 기념재단이 주체가 되어 운영하고 있는 경우가 대부분이지만 김대중도서관은 고등교육기관이 운영하고 있다는 특이점이 있다. 이에 따라 기록물을 기반으로 하여 역사, 민주주의에 대한 교육적 역할을 수행하며 연구자에게 자유로운 연구 공간을 제공하고 기록물을 통한 연구를 지원할 수 있도록 하는 목표를 가지고 있다. 본 고에서는 교육기관의 부속기관이며 민간대통령기록관인 김대중도서관의 대표적인 기록정보서비스에 대한 사례를 소개하고 앞으로 대통령기록관의 과제를 제시하고자 한다.
