  • In this study, the amalgamative relationship associated with oral health belief and preventive behavior against oral disease subject to middle aged people was analyzed. 20 persons in their middle age living in U city were selected as final subjects for this analysis. It was found that a factor with the strongest effect on intention to prevent oral disease and preventive behavior among oral health belief was importance. In the study, it was identified that the parameters such as importance and benefit had a partial mediating effect on the intention to prevent oral disease and self-efficacy had complete mediating effect. Through these results, it seems necessary to develop an intervention program for middle aged people able to recognize importance and benefits of oral health by themselves in order to promote their oral health.

  • Joints in jointed concrete Pavement are designed to control against randomly occurred cracks within slabs, which may be caused by temperature or moisture variation. The advantage of these artificial cracks (joints) over naturally occurred cracks are easy access of protections, such as installation of joint seal and load transfer mechanism. The potential benefits of joint seals are to prevent infiltration of surface water through the joint into underlying soil and intrusion of incompressible materials (debris, fine size aggregate) in to the joint, which may prevent weakening of underlying soils and spallings due to excessive compressive stress, respectively. For the adequate design of joint seal, horizontal variation of joint widths (horizontal joint movements) are essential inputs. Based on long-term in-situ joint movement data of sixteen jointed concrete pavement sections in Long Term Performance Pavement Seasonal Monitoring Program (LTPP SMP), it was indicated that considerable Portion of joints showed no horizontal movements with change in temperature. This Phenomenon is called 'Joint Freezing'. Possible cause for joint freezing is that designed penetrated cracks do not occur at a joint. In this study, a model for the prediction of the ratio of freezing joints in a particular pavement sections is proposed. In addition, possible effects of joint freezing against pavement performance are addressed.

  • Bot is a kind of worm/virus that is remotely controlled by a herder. Bot can be used to launch distributed denial-of-service(DDoS) attacks or send spam e-mails etc. Launching cyber attacks using malicious Bots is motivated by increased monetary gain which is not the objective of worm/virus. However, it is very difficult for infected user to detect this infection of Botnet which becomes more serious problems. This is why botnet is a dangerous, malicious program. The Bot DNS Sinkhole is a domestic bot mitigation scheme which will be proved in this paper as one of an efficient ways to prevent malicious activities caused by bots and command/control servers. In this paper, we analysis botnet activities over more than one-year period, including Bot's lifetime, Bot command/control server's characterizing. And we analysis more efficient ways to prevent botnet activities. We have showed that DNS sinkhole scheme is one of the most effective Bot mitigation schemes.

  • Ransomeware is a kind of malware. Computers infected with Ransomware have limited system access. It is a malicious program that must provide a money to the malicious code maker in order to release it. On May 12, 2017, with the largest Ransomware attack ever, concerns about the Internet security environment are growing. The types of Ransomware and countermeasures to prevent cyber terrorism are discussed. Ransomware, which has a strong infectious nature and has been constantly attacked in recent years, is typically in the form of Locky, Petya, Cerber, Samam, and Jigsaw. As of now, Ransomware defense is not 100% free. However, it can counter to Ransomware through automatic updates, installation of vaccines, and periodic backups. There is a need to find a multi-layered approach to minimize the risk of reaching the network and the system. Learn how to prevent Ransomware from corporate and individual users.

  • Many industrial accidents have occurred continuously in the manufacturing industries, construction industries, and service industries of Korea. Fatal accidents have occurred most frequently in the construction industries of Korea. Especially, the trend analysis of the accident rate and fatal accident rate is very important in order to prevent industrial accidents in the construction industries systematically. This paper considers forecasting of the accident rate and fatal accident rate with static and dynamic time series analysis methods in the construction industries. Therefore, this paper describes the optimal accident rate and fatal accident rate by minimization of the sum of square errors (SSE) among regression analysis method (RAM), exponential smoothing method (ESM), double exponential smoothing method (DESM), auto-regressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model, proposed analytic function model (PAFM), and kalman filtering model (KFM) with existing accident data in construction industries. In this paper, microsoft foundation class (MFC) soft of Visual Studio 2008 was used to predict the accident rate and fatal accident rate. Zero Accident Program developed in this paper is defined as the predicted accident rate and fatal accident rate, the zero accident target time, and the zero accident time based on the achievement probability calculated rationally and practically. The minimum value for minimizing SSE in the construction industries was found in 0.1666 and 1.4579 in the accident rate and fatal accident rate, respectively. Accordingly, RAM and ARIMA model are ideally applied in the accident rate and fatal accident rate, respectively. Finally, the trend analysis of this paper provides decisive information in order to prevent industrial accidents in construction industries very systematically.

  • This study is aimed at providing basic information necessary to set up education program and strategies to prevent high school students from smoking by school health care service. The main groups of study are 814 third-grade male students, 557 parents and 362 teachers, who were randomly chosen at 8 high schools in Seoul. Date analysis consisted of Chi-square test and percentage. The findings of the study are as follows: 1. The less interesting family life is, the more increasing current smoking rate is, (ex-smoking rate 53.5%, re-smoking rate 40.3%, current smoking rate 24.3%) 2. According th the results of $x^2$-test for the school life and the smoking, the students above ranking 41 showed th increase as 48.7% for continuous smoking, 18.9% for re-smoking, 67.6% for the present smoker. But it turned out that the students belonged to ranking 10 were not experienced the smoking. So it showed that there was a correlation between score and smoking. 3. It is noted that 93.3% of students, 93.3% of parents and 96.1% of teachers recognize harmful effect of smoking. But less than 70% those have recognized only half of all smoking knowledge. 4. There is a significant difference in the contends and types of education between parents and teachers. 5. For the time of home education and school health education to prevent the smoking, it turned out that 44.9% of students, 42.4% of parents, and 47.4% of teachers considered the optimal time as a high school' days. In addition it appeared that 40.5% of students, 33.4% of parents, and 54.6% of teachers recognized the necessity of the early education before the elementart school. For the optimal time to begin school health education, it showed that the middle school days were indicated from 56.6% of students, 52.7% of parents, the elementary school days were 54.6% of parents, the elementary school days were 54.6% of teachers.

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to expand evidence-base for the effectiveness of lifestyle intervention programs to prevent the onset of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Methods: Seven intervention studies between 2006 and 2014 at Korea Association of Health Promotion were analyzed. All the studies were randomized controlled trials(RCTs) and included multi-component behavioral interventions. The participants of the programs were 2,172 adults with risk factors regarding metabolic syndrome criteria. The proportions of normalized participants were compared within and across the studies using odds ratio effect sizes. Results: The reductions in the prevalence of metabolic syndrome were from 49.6% to 65.1% in intervention groups, and from 38.7% to 52.3% in comparison groups. Significant differences in effectiveness between groups were found in two studies, one in 2006 with odds ratio of 1.69(p<0.01) and another in 2009 with odds ratio of 2.36(p<0.001). Proportions of normalized participants were higher in blood pressure(31.9% to 52.5% in the intervention groups and 23.0% to 43.3% in comparison groups) than other risk factors. Abdominal obesity showed weakest improvement after the intervention in both groups. Conclusions: Lifestyle modification program is an effective method to reduce diabetes and cardiovascular risks in adults by decreasing the prevalence of metabolic syndrome and its components.
