영.유아를 위한 영어 에듀테인먼트 애니메이션 고찰 (Study of English Edutainment Animation for Preschoolers)

  • 오늘날의 세계화 도래와 함께 국제적, 사회적으로 영어의 필요성은 더욱 중요해지고 있으며 이를 체감하며 자란 7, 80년대생이 자녀를 가지기 시작하면서 영어 조기교육 열풍이 점점 확산 되고 있다. 이는 최근 자녀수가 감소함에 따라 자녀의 환경과 교육에 아낌없이 투자하려는 심리와 맞물려 부모들의 영어조기교육에 대한 기대가 더욱 높아졌다. 이러한 사회적인 필요에 의해 초등학교 교육과정까지 영어교육을 도입한 공교육을 선두로 조기에 영어교육을 시작하는 것이 효율적이라는 학자들의 주장이 힘을 입어 그 대상을 영 유아까지 포함하게 된것이다. 이처럼 어린 연령대의 아이들을 위한 영어조기교육의 경우, 긍정적인 결과를 가지고 올 수도 있지만, 부정적인 영향을 가지고 올 수 있어도 체계적인 연구를 통한 교육지침의 설립이 시급하다. 본 논문에서는 언어습득의 이론적 배경들을 설명하여 영 유아의 조기언어교육 타당성을 제시하고 에듀테인먼트 애니메이션의 교육적인 효과를 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 현재 유통되고 있는 2 ~7세의 유아들을 대상으로 하는 DVD 타이틀 가운데 이미 베스트셀러로 인정받고 있는 영어교육용 에듀테인먼트 애니메이션들을 유형별로 묶어 비교해보았다. 더 나아가 여러 유형 중 참여 유도형 에듀테인먼트 애니메이션의 캐릭터 분석 및 진행형식, 효과적인 학습을 위해 선택된 스토리텔링 구성 등을 분석하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 유아의 영어교육용 엔터테인먼트 애니메이션에는 어떤 유형이 있는지 비교해보고 분석하여 언어교육을 목적으로 하는 타이틀을 유아들의 수준과 연령에 맞게 제작하기 위해서는 어떠한 장치가 있어야 하는지에 대한 기본적인 틀을 제시하는 데 있다.

  • Objective: This study examined the effects of cooking activities related to seasonal customs on the language expression ability and pro-social behaviors of young children. Methods: Participants consisted of thirty-four 5-year-old children who were attending S preschool in Jeollanamdo. Seventeen children belonged to the experimental group and seventeen children to the comparative group. The experimental group participated in cooking activities related to seasonal customs, and the comparative group in cooking activities according to life themes of Nuri curriculum. Results: The results of this study revealed a significant improvement in the language expression ability and pro-social behaviors of young children in the experimental group. That is to say, the scores of the language expression ability and pro-social behaviors of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the comparative group. Conclusion/Implications: This study carries significant implications for the early childhood field as it provides valuable insight into teaching-learning activities that effectively enhance the language expression ability and pro-social behaviors of young children.

어머니의 유아기 자녀 학교적응기대와 부모효능감 및 자녀유능성 인식과의 관계 (Mothers' Expectation on School Adjustment of Their Preschool Children and Mothers' Perception of Parenting Efficacy and Children's Competence)

  • 본 연구는 미취학 자녀를 둔 어머니의 자녀에 대한 학교적응기대가 어머니의 부모효능감 및 자녀유능성 인식과 어떠한 관계가 있는지를 알아보고자 한 것이다. 이를 위해 서울, 경기 지역의 유치원과 어린이집 만 5세반에 재원 중인 유아의 어머니 340명을 대상으로 질문지 조사를 실시하였다. 취학 전 유아 어머니의 자녀 학교적응기대는 첫째, 어머니의 학력이 높고, 직장에 다니고 있으며, 자녀를 초등학교에 진학시킨 경험이 있을수록 높게 나타났다. 또한 남아보다는 여아에 대해, 첫째 자녀보다는 둘째 이상의 자녀에 대해 높은 학교 적응기대를 가지고 있었으며, 유아의 월령이 높을수록 그 기대가 높았다. 둘째, 취학 전 유아를 둔 어머니의 부모효능감이 높을수록 자녀의 교사관계, 친구관계, 학교수업과 규칙 등의 학교적응에 대한 어머니의 기대가 높았다. 셋째, 취학 어머니가 자녀의 사회적 능력을 높게 인식할수록 자녀의 교사관계, 친구관계 적응에 대한 기대가 높게 나타났으며, 자녀의 인지적 능력을 높게 인식할수록 학교수업과 규칙적응에 대한 기대가 높은 것으로 나타났다.

유아의 언어능력, 정서조절이 또래괴롭힘 피해에 미치는 영향: 교사-유아 갈등 관계의 조절 및 매개 효과 (The Relationship among Child's Language Ability, Emotional Regulation and Peer Victimization: The Moderating and Mediating Role of Teacher-Child Conflict Relationship)

  • This study examined the moderating and mediating effects of teacher-child conflict relationship among child's language ability, emotional regulation and peer victimization. The participants were 152 children(77 boys, 75 girls) and 14 preschool teachers. The teachers completed rating scales to measure the child's emotional regulation, peer victimization and teacher-child relationship. Child's language ability was assessed by researcher using PRES(Preschool Receptive-Expressive Language Scale). The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlations and hierarchical multiple regressions. Results showed that peer victimization was related to child's language ability, emotional regulation and teacher-child relationship. Hierarchical aggression analysis indicated that the interaction of child's receptive language ability and teacher-child conflict relationship predicated peer victimization. Child's language ability, whose demonstrated a lower teacher-child conflict relationship, was significantly with peer victimization. In addition, the association between a child's emotional regulation and peer victimization was partially mediated by teacher-child conflict relationship.

글 없는 그림책을 활용한 통합 활동이 유아의 창의성 신장에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Integrated Activities Using Wordless Picture Books on Increase in Preschool Children's Creativity)

  • This study purposed to examine the effects of integrated activities based on wordless picture books on increase in children's creativity. As for the subject of this study, 20 five-year old children(9 boys and 11 girls), who go to D Kindergarten in Ulsan-si, were selected as a experimental group and 20 five-year old children(8 boys and 12 girls) as comparative group, who attend B Kindergarten in Ulsan-si. For this study, all children of the groups were taken pre-test. After this experiment, difference in creativity of two groups was examined through post-test. The total of 42 sessions were conducted for 14 weeks from the first week of April to the second week of July, 2005. The test tool for this study was Creativity Scale developed by Kim Sang-yun (2003). To verify study questions, the mean of the two groups and the standard deviation were calculated and independent-sample t-test was carried out using SPSS WIN 11.5. The results of this study were as the following: First, integrated activities based on wordless picture books showed statistically significant difference in children's creativity between the experimental group and the comparative one(p<.001), which suggested that the activities affected increase in children's creativity in general. Second, integrated activities centering around wordless picture books indicated statistically significant difference in fluency(p<.05), flexibility(p<.01) and originality(p<.001), sub-factors of children's creativity, between the experimental group and the comparative one. This result revealed that these activities were effective. Third, integrated activities based on wordless picture books did not show significant difference in elaboration, a sub-factor of children's creativity, between the two groups. As the result of this study, integrated activities based on wordless picture books had positive effects on increase in children's creativity.

유아교육기관의 건강교육 실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Status of Health Education of Kindergartens for Preschoolers)

  • Disease prevention and health promotions are basically needed to be healthy, health education is the most useful mean to accomplish them. Preschool children are being developped, their health problem can effect their health status through their lives. This study was attempted to survey for status of health education of kindergarten for preshoolers and to provide the basic precious data for nursing intervention. The subjects were 51 kidergarten teachers. The data were collected by the questionaires, which consiste of 25 items concerning daily life habits of children and 1 item concerning the problems of health education for preschoolers. The data were analyzed by SAS program. The results of this study are as folleowed ; 1. The most frequently educated subjects were 'adequate and safe play' and 'hand washing', 'walking and running straightly', 'oral hygiene or tooth brushing', 'walking staires'. 2. The most frequently used teaching method was the explaining. 3. The most frequently used instructional method was the pictures. The slide films and OHP was seldomly used media. 4. The most effective teaching method which perceived by the kindergarten teachers was role play . Discuss ion and compensation/reinforcement were comparatively effective method also. 5. The most effective instructional media which perceived by the kindergarten teachers was a real object/model. 6. The problems of health education for preschoolers were 'deficiency of developped health educational programs' and 'inconsistency between parents' education and kindergarten teachers' education', 'deficiency of instructional media'. The other problems were' the knowledge deficit of teachers themselves' and 'the difficulty of measure the effect of education', 'time deficit'. Conclusionally, we have to realize the health of children is the future of our health, and reinforce the health education for preschoolers to accomplish the disease prevention and health promotion.

동화를 활용한 갈등상황 이야기나누기 활동이 유아의 마음이론과 또래유능성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the Story Sharing Activity on Conflicting Situations by Using Children's Story on the Theory of Mind and Peer Competence of Preschoolers)

  • The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the story sharing activity on-conflicting situations by the use of children's story on the theory of mind and peer competences of preschoolers so that appropriate teaching materials can be allocated for the actual preschool education site. The subjects of this study were 46 preschoolers under the age 4 at the attached kindergarten of P University in Pohang City, Gyeongbuk and in which 23 children among them were assigned to a test group and the other 23 to a control group. The collected data was analyzed by SPSS ver. 15.0 program and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient was yielded to verify the reliability for each scale. The multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) was conducted. The analysis results are as follows. First, the story sharing activity on conflict situations by using children's story had a significant effect on the preschoolers' general appearance and actual task as sub-factors of the theory of mind, whereas no significant effects were found regarding the content change task and position change task. Second, the story sharing activity on conflict situations by using children's story had significant effect on the preschoolers' overall sensitivity, insecurity and pro-sociability as sub-factors of the peer competences, whereas no significant effects were found regarding the aggression, exclusivity and anti-sociability.

취약계층 학령전기 아동의 건강상태와 어머니의 아동 건강관리실태 (Health Status of Vulnerable Preschool Children and Their Mothers' Health Management)

  • 목적 본 연구는 취약계층 학령전기 아동의 건강상태와 어머니의 아동 건강관리실태를 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 방법 대상자는 259명의 취약계층 가정의 어머니이며, 연구도구는 선행 연구를 기반으로 연구자가 구성한 설문지이다. 자료는 2010년 1월부터 2월까지 경상남도 20개 보건소의 방문간호사가 가정방문을 통해 수집하였으며, SAS를 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과 비만 아동이 6.5%, 저체중 아동이 19.3%였으며, 건강문제는 아토피가 14.7%였다. 손 씻기 수행율은 화장실 사용 후 69.1%, 식사 전 63.3%였으며, 아침 결식 아동이 15.8%, 규칙적으로 식사하지 않는 아동이 32.0%였다. 어머니의 아동 성교육률은 45.7%, 정기적인 치과검진율은 56.3%였고, 시력검사와 청력검사를 하는 경우가 각각 66.8%와 61.1%였다. 성장발달 촉진을 위한 가정환경은 41점 중 34.3점이었고, 질병유무와 어머니의 연령과 학력에 따라 차이가 있었으며, 사고예방을 위한 가정환경은 22점 중 17.5점이었고, 유치원 등원 여부에 따라 차이가 있었다. 결론 비만 아동과 저체중 아동의 비율이 높고, 기본적인 개인위생 습관과 식습관이 적절하지 못한 아동의 비율이 높았으며, 어머니의 아동건강관리실태는 기초적인 건강관리와 아동의 성장발달 증진과 사고예방을 위한 가정환경의 조성이 미흡한 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서 가정방문 간호사들이 취약가정 학령전기 아동의 건강과 성장발달을 증진시킬 수 있는 가정방문용 간호중재 프로그램을 개발할 필요가 있는 것으로 생각된다.

보육경험 및 보육의 질과 5세 유아의 사회.정서발달과의 관계 (Relationship between 5 Year Olds' Socioemotional Development and Daycare Experience and Daycare Quality)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between early childhood socioemotional development and day care experience and daycare quality. The subjects were 116 children, age 5 years old, from 17 daycare centers. The teachers at the 17 daycare centers rated the quality of their facility while the mothers of the 116 children assessed their children's socioemotional development. Daycare experience was composed of: the time period, hours per day, and the child's starting age at enrollment in daycare. Daycare quality was measured by questionnaire developed by Park(1995). Children's socioemotional development was rated by K-CBCL (Oh et al. 1997). The results were as follows. First, starting daycare experience less than 2 years of age, attending more than 6 days per week, and attending more than 8 hours per day of daycare experience were negatively related with children's development. Second, quality of daycare such as child-centered curriculum, abundant interaction between teachers and parents, opportunity for continuing education of teachers, higher levels of rewards and incentives for teachers, and the provision of nutritious food were positively related to the children's development.

소아.청소년 비만의 예방대책 (Prevention strategies for obesity in children and adolescents)

  • Prevalence of obesity in Korean children and adolescents has dramatically increased since the last 10-20 years. It is important to initiate prevention efforts early in childhood because prevalence of obesity in adolescence is the strongest predictor of its prevalence in adulthood. Intrauterine life, infancy, and preschool years may comprise the critical periods that are essential for the long-term regulation of energy balance therefore, obesity-prevention strategies should be initiated in utero and continued throughout childhood and adolescence. Families with high-risk children should be provided early education about maintaining normal weight. Encouraging physical activity and, especially, avoiding inactivity, are key challenges in the prevention of future obesity. Schools should be primarily involved in educating parents to discourage their children from excessively watching TV or playing computer games and eating unhealthy snacks and food. The involvement of medical practitioners is also important, especially, in the case of obese parents, obesity prevention strategies should be promoted from the first visit of pregnant women to the physicians. Health professionals can also be involved in obesity prevention because they are ideally equipped to identify young children at risk of obesity. Community and nation-wide efforts to increase awareness and promote environments that encourage physical activity and healthy nutrition are required.
