Dyeing of high Light Fastness Solvent Dyes on Polyester Fiber (고 일광견뢰도 Solvent 염료의 폴리에스터 염색에 관한 연구)

  • This research aimed at scrutinizing the dyeability of some solvent dyes on polyester and their light fastness to be exploited as a breakthrough in light fastness where utmost fastness is required such as ultramicrofibers and industrial markets. Dyeability on polyester was mainly evaluated by HT exhaust dyeing according to the general procedure. Light fastness has been tested by a preliminary UV test followed by HT xenon test in compliance with standard SAE J1885, 224 KJ. Fading has been determined quantitatively by evaluating the shade deviation and the strength difference between unexposed and exposed samples by means of CIELab values.

  • Preliminary scheduling at the initial stage of planning phase is usually performed with limited information and details. Therefore, the reliability and accuracy of preliminary scheduling is affected by personal experiences and skills of the schedule planners, and it requires enormous managerial effort (or workload). Reusing of historical data of the similar projects is important for efficient preliminary scheduling. However, understanding the structure of historical data and applying them to a new project requires a great deal of experience and knowledge. In this context, this paper propose a framework and methodology for automated preliminary schedule generation based on historical database. The proposed methodology and framework enables to automatically generate CPM schedules for airport projects in the early planning stage in order to enhance the reliability and to reduce the workload by using structured knowledge and experience.

  • Recently, local governments in Korea are promoting the rapid development of marine for delineating jurisdictional sea area. The importance of a maritime boundary has being emphasized, as jurisdictional sea area disputes among local governments have been increasing. The absence of the delineating standard of maritime boundary has become a source of contention between neighborhood local governments. So the delineating standard of maritime boundary in Korea will be required. The purpose of this study is to derive an improvement plan for the scientific delimitation standard of maritime boundary by analyzing "A hydrographic survey guideline for confirmation of maritime boundary". The results of this study are as follows. Firstly, we defined the concept of the delimitation standard of maritime boundary. Secondly, we set the boundary, factors and processes of the delineating standard of maritime boundary through classifying them in detail. Lastly, we suggested the makeup of a conflict adjustment committee for preventing jurisdictional sea area disputes among local governments.

  • We present the high-resolution near-infrared spectra of standard stars observed with Immersion Grating Infrared Spectrograph (IGRINS). IGRINS covers the full spectral range of H and K bands simultaneously with a high spectral resolution (R=40,000), revealing many previously undetected and/or unknown lines. In this work, we present preliminary results of spectroscopic diagnostics for stellar physical parameters. Our ultimate goal is to provide a library of near-infrared spectra of standard stars, which covers all spectral types and luminosity classes, with a high-resolution and high signal to noise ratio ($SNR{\geq}200$).

  • The energy efficiency and environment-friendly aspect of the railway system would be superior to other on-land transportation systems. In a preliminary feasibility study stage, the energy efficiency and problems related with environment are usually not considered. The railway noise and vibration which could be reasons of environmental problems are focused and studied in this paper. The investment for railway systems could be encouraged by the considering of main environmental elements evaluated with the modified noise and vibration standard for environment-friendly railway construction.

Quantitation and Validation of Atorvastatin using HPLC-UV

  • A reversed phase HPLC analysis of atorvastatin (AS) standard solution was performed using diclofenac (DF) as internal standard. Column oven temperature, flow rate and the composition of the mobile phase were varied in order to determine a practical system setup using a C18 column and UV detector. Two C18 columns of different length were compared regarding their influence on the AS peak shape. Based on these preliminary experiments a validation study was performed utilizing a C18 column at $62^{\circ}C$ with a mobile phase consisting of sodium phosphate buffer (0.05 M, pH 4.0), methanol and acetonitrile (40:50:10, v/v/v). The detection limit for AS was $0.1{\mu}g/ml$ and inter- and intra-day calibration curves were linear over a concentration range of $0.2-50{\mu}g/ml$. Accuracy and precision were satisfactory in the AS concentration range of $0.5-50{\mu}g/ml$.

  • Software reusability is one of key factors which impacts cost and schedule on a software development project. It is very crucial also in satellite simulator development since there are many commercial simulator models related to satellite and dynamics. If these models can be used in another simulator platform, great deal of confidence and cost/schedule reduction would be achieved. Simulation model portability (SMP) is maintained by European Space Agency and many models compatible with SMP/simulation model interface (SMI) are available. Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) is developing hardware abstraction layer (HAL) supported satellite simulator to verify on-board software of satellite. From above reasons, KARI wants to port these SMI compatible models to the HAL supported satellite simulator. To port these SMI compatible models to the HAL supported satellite simulator, simulation scheduler is preliminary designed according to the SMI standard.

  • In this paper, we provide safety requirements and advices to guarantee the safety of an interface in a level crossing system which is an interface between the conventional facilities and the new ATP (Automatic Train Protection) system, as well as we accomplish a safety management for the facilities of a country that has a different standard with already standardized ATP system. The system model has been made based on a safety activity of the international standard, and then a tolerance of a risk by the safety activity through PHA (Preliminary Hazard Analysis) has been analyzed. finally we achieved HIA (Hazard Identification and Analysis) for the assumptions that have been produced from a operating scenario and a functional interface. Thus, the safety requirements for the interface has been provided from the safety plan of HIA, and we showed the safety activity to guarantee the system safety through HIA which was depend on the design.

  • This paper deals with an automatic rotor design functional standard computation based on torque/volume for a synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM). The focus of this paper is the design relative to the torque/volume on the basis of each rated watt according to the rotor diameters of a SynRM. The coupled finite elements analysis (FEA) & sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT) have been used to evaluate design solutions. The proposed procedure allows to define the rotor geometric design function according to the rotor diameter and rated watt starting from an existing motor or a preliminary design.

NearSurface geophysical applications in Greece focused in archaeological prospection

  • In this paper several recent case studies of near surface geophysical applications in Greece are presented. The case studies are focused mostly in archeological site investigation, a field which is of high interest in Greece due to its reach historical heritage. The growing construction works in several parts of Greece as well as the increasing public interest in exploring and preserving cultural heritage lead to an increase of the application of nearsurface geophysics techniques as a preliminary investigation tool prior to engineering and archeological excavation works. Research efforts, presented in this work, are focused to extending and adapting standard nearsurface techniques in order to be made more effective for archaeological site investigation. The presented case studies involve not only standard field investigation procedures but also novel approaches such as the use of non-spike electrodes, efficient measuring and instrumentation strategies, unusual configurations and measurement environments. Overall it shown that efficient and state-of-art nearsurface geophysical techniques used for archaeological prospection purposes provide significant archaeological and structural information valuable for archeologists, engineers and conservation scientists.
