Electrical Characteristics of Devices with Material Variations of PMD-1 Layers (PMD-1 층의 물질변화에 따른 소자의 전기적 특성)

  • It is very important to select superior inter-layer PMD(Pre Metal Dielectric) materials which can act as penetration barrier to various impurities created by CMP processes. In this paper, hot carrier degradation and device characteristics were studied with material variation of PMD-1 layers, which were split by LP-TEOS, SR-Oxide, PE-Oxynitride, PE-Nitride, PE-TEOS films. It was observed that the oxynitride and nitride using plasma was greatly decreased in hot carrier effect in comparison with silicon oxide. Consequently, silicon oxide turned out to be a better PMD-1 material than PE-oxynitride and PE-nitride. Also, LP-TEOS film was the best PMD-1 material Among the silicon oxides.

  • This study was intended to evaluate condyle position and the relationship of condyle position change and post surgical relapse following the sagittal split ramus osteotomy for mandible setback in 25 patients by paired t-test and multiple regression analysis. We used oblique transcranial and cephalometric radiographs taken before operation, immediate after operation, and at least 6 months post operatively. 1. In oblique transcranial view, posterior joint space was decreased immediate after operation and increased 6 months after operation. To compare the measurement before and 6 months after operation, there was no statistically significant change in over all joint spaces(P>0.05). 2. The joint spaces changed under the 0.2mm were 30%, 0.2mm to 1.0mm were 60.7%, above 1.0mm were 9.3%. This result reveals that condyle position was relatively reproduced to pre-operative state. 3. Statistically, the amount of mandible set back didn't influence the post operative relapse(P>0.05). 4. Statistically, the amount of mandible set back didn't influence the condylar displacement(P>0.05), and the amount of joint space change didn't influence the post operative relapse.(P>0.05) The changes in joint space is in the standard tracing error or within the adaptive capacity of the individual, it was too small to influence the stability of surgery.

  • Slide tracheoplasty. as a treatment for congenital tracheal stenosis, has been recently reported to have good results and quite a number of advantages as compared with conventional tracheoplasties. The aim of this study is to report a new surgical technique modified from the slide tracheoplasty. "the slide cricotracheoplasty" for the congenital cricotracheal stenosis. A girl was born by Cesarean section and the diagnosis of esophageal atresia (Gross type C) and cricotracheal stenosis (30 % of total length of trachea) was established. Esophageal atresia was successfully corrected at the 8th day of life. At the 31st day of life, corrective surgery for congenital cricotracheal stenosis. the slide cricotracheoplasty. was performed with success. Slide cricotracheoplasty is almost the same procedure as slide tracheoplasty except for two technical features. First the cricoid cartilage was split on its anterior surface. Second the split cricoid cartilage was fixed to pre vertebral fascia to maintain enough space to accommodate the sliding caudal segment of trachea because of the stiffness of the cricoid cartilage. We believe that the sliding cricotracheoplasty is a new surgical technique for congenital cricotracheal stenosis that has similar results and advantages as the sliding tracheoplasty.

TRANSVERSE CHANGE OF THE PROXIMAL SEGMENT AFTER BILATERAL SAGITTAL SPLIT RAMUS OSTEOTOMY IN MANDIBULAR PROGNATHISM USING COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (하악전돌증환자에서 하악지시상분할골절단술 후 전산화단층촬영을 이용한 근심골편의 횡적인 변화에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to evaluate transverse changes of proximal segment after bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy (BSSRO) using 3-D CT in mandibular prognathism. Patients and methods: Twenty-two patients who underwent BSSRO for mandibular set-back in class III malocclusion without facial asymmetry were examined. Miniplates were used for the fixation after BSSRO. Facial CT was taken before and after BSSRO within 3 months. Frontal-ramal inclination (FRI), inter-gonial width (IGW) and intercondylar width (ICW) were measured in 3-D CT images using V-works $4.0^{TM}$ program. Student t-test was used to compare the changes between pre- and post-operative measurements using SPSS 10.0 program. Results: 1. Mean peroperative FRI value ($12.87{\pm}3.43^{\circ}$) was slightly increased to postoperative value ($14.13{\pm}3.72^{\circ}$) (p < 0.05). The average FRI increased 10.42% and the range was from $-2.46^{\circ}$ to $3.34^{\circ}$. 2. Mean peroperative IGW ($99.01{\pm}5.36$) was slightly decreased to postoperative IGW ($96.51{\pm}5.88mm$) (p < 0.05). The average IGW decreased 2.52 % and the range was from $-6.61^{\circ}$ to 0.91 mm. 3. Mean preoperative ICW ($125.01{\pm}5.30mm$) was slightly decreased to postoperative ICW ($125.40{\pm}5.45mm$) (p < 0.05). There is no significant difference between pre- and post-operative ICW. 4. There was significant correlationship between FRI difference and IGW difference (p < 0.05). Conclusions: These results indicate that the lower ramus of the proximal segment is moved inward after BSSRO procedure for mandibular set-back.

  • An e-business client application in ubiquitous mobile computing environment may become disconnected from the enterprise server due to broken communication connections caused by the limitation of mobile computing environments(limited battery life of the mobile device, low bandwidth communication, incomplete wireless communication infrastructure, etc). It Is even Possible that mobile client application Intentionally operates in disconnected mode to reduce communication cost and the power consumption of the mobile device. We use “data hoarding” as a means of providing local autonomy to allow transactions to be processed and committed on the mobile host despite of disconnection. The key problem to this approach is the synchronization problem that serialize potentially conflicting updates from disconnected clients on master objects of the server database. In this paper, we present a new transaction synchronizing method that splits a transaction into a set of independent component transactions and give the synchronization priority on each component taking the possibility of use and conflicts in the server into consideration. Synchronization is performed component by component based un synchronization priority. After the Preferred component of a no bile transaction succeeds in synchronization with the server, the mobile transaction can pre-commit at server. A pre-committed transaction's updated value is made visible at server before the final commit of the transaction. The synchronization of the component with low synchronization priority can be delayed in adaption to wireless bandwidth and computing resources. As a result, the availability of important data updated by mobile client is increased and it can maximize the utilization of the limited wireless bandwidth and computing resources.

Comparison of Dynamic Balance Ability and Leg Muscle Properties during Bulgarian Split Squat Exercises using the Visual Block and Unstable Support Plane (시각 차단과 불안정한 지지면을 이용한 불가리안 스플릿 스쿼트 운동 시 동적 균형 능력과 근속성의 비교)

  • Background: Bulgarian split squat (BSS) is beneficial to improve dynamic balance ability and muscle activity of lower extremities, however its effects have not been fully investigated. Therefore, this study aimed to compare changes in dynamic balance ability and muscle properties according to various modifications of BSS exercises. Methods: Thirty healthy male volunteers participated in this study, and they were randomly divided into three different groups. The subjects performed the BSS exercise either on a stable surface with the eyes opened (n=10) or eyes closed (n=10), and on an unstable support plane with eyes opened (n=10) conditions, respectively. Dynamic balance ability was measured via Biodex balance system under the eyes-opened and closed conditions. Additionally, muscle properties of the rectus femoris (RF), vastus medialis (VM) and vastus lateralis (VL) were evaluated. Results: Dynamic balance ability did not show the significant differences among the groups that performed the BSS exercises. However, in the Unstable group, there were significant differences in the overall stability index and anterior posterior stability index under the eyes-closed condition between pre-exercise and post-exercise. In comparison of muscle properties according to the groups, RF muscle showed a significant difference in amount of change of elasticity (p=.038). Additionally, there were significant changes in post measurements of VM muscle tone (p=.016), stiffness (p=.012) and elasticity (p=.002). VL muscle, however had no significant differences in muscle properties. Conclusion: These results indicate that BSS exercises could induce the alteration of RF and VM muscle properties, in particular VM muscle which is susceptible to weakness. Thus, BSS could be applied in various ways as an effective rehabilitation exercise.

  • Preprocessing for high-quality data is required for high accuracy and usability in various and complex image data-based industries. However, when a contaminated hostile example that combines noise with existing image or video data is introduced, which can pose a great risk to the company, it is necessary to restore the previous damage to ensure the company's reliability, security, and complete results. As a countermeasure for this, restoration was previously performed using Defense-GAN, but there were disadvantages such as long learning time and low quality of the restoration. In order to improve this, this paper proposes a method using adversarial examples created through FGSM according to image segmentation in addition to using the VQ-VAE model. First, the generated examples are classified as a general classifier. Next, the unsegmented data is put into the pre-trained VQ-VAE model, restored, and then classified with a classifier. Finally, the data divided into quadrants is put into the 4-split-VQ-VAE model, the reconstructed fragments are combined, and then put into the classifier. Finally, after comparing the restored results and accuracy, the performance is analyzed according to the order of combining the two models according to whether or not they are split.

Clinical Outcomes of Minimum 12-Month Follow-Up of Anatomical Double Bundle ACL Reconstruction with a Longitudinally Split Tibialis Anterior Allograft (종분할된 전경골 동종건을 이용한 해부학적 전방 십자 인대 이중다발 재건술의 최소 12개월 임상 결과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical results after a anatomical double bundle ACL reconstruction using a longitudinally split tibialis anterior allograft. Materials and Methods: We evaluated 24 patients with a minimum follow-up of 12 months who had undergone anatomical double bundle ACL reconstructions. The grafts utilized in all cases were tibialis anterior allografts which were longitudinally split into two strands. A standard rehabilitation protocol was applied in all patients. The pre- and post-operative data including Lysholm scores, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) scores, Lachman test, pivot shift test and the side-to-side differences of anterior laxity measured by KT-2000 arthrometer were analyzed by use of a statistical method Results: The mean side-to-side instrumented laxity measured by the KT-2000 arthrometer significantly improved to a mean of $1.04{\pm}0.80\;mm$ (P < 0.001). The Lysholm knee scores also improved from $58.34{\pm}15.32$ to $86.25{\pm}6.48$ after surgery (P < 0.001). The patients exhibited improved IKDC scores (A: 15 cases, B; 9 cases) at the final follow-up, compared to preoperative scores (B: 5, C: 10, D: 9). Conclusion: Our data demonstrated that clinical results of anatomical double bundle ACL reconstruction with a split tibialis anterior allograft are encouraging with excellent side-to side laxity, significantly improved Lysholm knee score, IKDC score, Lachman and pivot shift data.

Split genome-based retroviral replicating vectors achieve efficient gene delivery and therapeutic effect in a human glioblastoma xenograft model

  • The murine leukemia virus-based semi-retroviral replicating vectors (MuLV-based sRRV) had been developed to improve safety and transgene capacity for cancer gene therapy. However, despite the apparent advantages of the sRRV, improvements in the in vivo transduction efficiency are still required to deliver therapeutic genes efficiently for clinical use. In this study, we established a gibbon ape leukemia virus (GaLV) envelope-pseudotyped semi-replication-competent retrovirus vector system (spRRV) which is composed of two transcomplementing replication-defective retroviral vectors termed MuLV-Gag-Pol and GaLV-Env. We found that the spRRV shows considerable improvement in efficiencies of gene transfer and spreading in both human glioblastoma cells and pre-established human glioblastoma mouse model compared with an sRRV system. When treated with ganciclovir after intratumoral injection of each vector system into pre-established U-87 MG glioblastomas, the group of mice injected with spRRV expressing the herpes simplex virus type 1-thymidine kinase (HSV1-tk) gene showed a survival rate of 100% for more than 150 days, but all control groups of mice (HSV1-tk/PBS-treated and GFP/GCV-treated groups) died within 45 days after tumor injection. In conclusion, these findings sug-gest that intratumoral delivery of the HSV1-tk gene by the spRRV system is worthy of development in clinical trials for the treatment of malignant solid tumors.

The Effect of Pre-wilting and Incorporation of Maize Meal on the Fermentation of Bana Grass Silage

  • An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of pre-wilting Bana grass (Pennisetum purpureum x P. americanum) herbage under sunny conditions for 0, 6, 18, 24, 32 and 48 h and ensiling it with maize meal. Four levels of maize meal(viz., 0, 5, 10 and 15% on fresh weight (Fw) basis) were tested. The experiment had a split-plot design. Wilting increased the concentration of water soluble carbohydrates (WSC) significantly (p<0.001) on a Fw basis, although there were no significant changes on DM basis. Unwilted grass contained $36.1g{\cdot}WSC{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}Fw$ ($127.6g{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}DM$) and this increased to $64.1g{\cdot}WSC{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}Fw$ ($116.7g{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}DM$) after 48 h of pre-wilting. Wilting also increased the DM content of herbage significantly (p>0.001) from 250 to $620g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$, between 0 and 48 h respectively. The concentration of fermentation end-products decreased (except butyric acid) and pH increased when the period of wilting increased, indicating that fermentation was restricted. In particular, lactic acid content declined from 50.8 to $26.2g{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}DM$ (p<0.01) and the residual WSC contents of silage increased from 2.7 with fresh herbage to $18.1g{\cdot}kg^{-1}{\cdot}DM$ with 48 h of wilting (p<0.001). Rapid wilting for 24 h, to a DM of $450g{\cdot}kg^{-1}$ was optimum since important increases in pH, residual WSC and DMD occurred at this level of wilting. Acetic acid, butyric acid and ammoniacal-N contents were lowest with 24 h of wilting. There were no significant interactions between length of wilting and the incorporation of maize meal. Wilting had a greater influence on fermentation than the incorporation of maize meal. Addition of maize meal facilitated fermentation by increasing forage DM content and reducing effluent production. In addition, the maize meal increased DMD. It was concluded that maize meal should generally be incorporated at a level of 5% on fresh weight basis.
