This paper aims to describe how knowledge management could be put into practice in a voluntary way. From a practice-based standpoint, this study focused closely on the linkage between knowledge and practice. It is because knowledge management could fail if not put into practice. Using its own information system, iCOOP, a federation of consumers' co-operatives in Korea has been practised successful knowledge management voluntarily with its members. Based on the exploratory case study on iCOOP, this study conducted focused interviews with 5 member co-operatives of iCOOP. Main findings are as follows. First, an NoP emerges within a corporate information system when corporate work processes are concentrated in the information system. Second, corporate information system facilitates CoPs and the NoP when its information and information about its users are opened to all of the information system users. In conclusion, this study points out that it is not the matter of primary importance to build a knowledge management system. Rather, practice has the key to the successful knowledge management.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors that affect nursing students' clinical practice ability. Methods: The data were collected from 303 nursing students who had more than 500 hours of experience in clinical practicum at 4 universities in Seoul and the metropolitan area. The instruments consisted of 27 items of critical thinking, 19 items of professionalism, 40 items of self reported leadership, 20 items of communication evaluation tool, and 61 items of nursing practice performance evaluation. Results: For the clinical practicum, most difficult for nursing students were cardiopulmonary resuscitation, fecal enema, stoma care, and blood transfusion. Clinical practice abilities were positively correlated with nursing professionalism(r=.26, p<.001), leadership (r=.16, p=.007) and critical thinking(r=.12, p=.031). Professionalism(${\beta}=.32$, p=.001) was the most significant factor influencing the clinical practice ability of nursing students. Critical thinking was the second largest factor but not significant(${\beta}=.16$, p=.058). Conclusion: The findings suggest that the nursing curriculum should include nursing knowledge and nursing skills as well as various case-based or field-based decision making training programs to cultivate professionalism, critical thinking and other abilities for clinical practice.
Purpose: This study was done to provide fundamental ontological understanding of caring and inquiring into the possibility of a caring practice in nursing based on existential phenomenology. Methods: According to Heidegger's existential phenomenology, caring has been interpreted as a fundamental ontological basis for caring practice in nursing. Further, based on Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology, the meaning of the lived experience of illness and the way of caring practice have been described from the aspect of the existential involvement in the embodied life world. Results: Heidegger's phenomenology provided ontological thinking about caring, which is understood in a basic way as the possibility of human existence and dwelling in oneself in the confrontation of the illness experience. Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology offered a meaning of human existence according to bodily intention and situated freedom in the life world. This perspective of embodiment enables nurses to understand bodily experiences of patients and recovery of their bodily capacity in responding to the situation in caring practice. Conclusion: Existential phenomenology gives insight into fundamental reflection for caring attitude and practice in nursing. Existential phenomenological nursing research can provide descriptions and meaning of the lived experience of illness and a way of coping with the crisis of human existence in caring practice.

Methods: Data were analyzed through partial correlation and hierarchical regression. Results: Both the institutional and school variables involved in child care practices were found to have significant static implications for career decisions. The relative explanatory power of these variables has been shown to be significant in practical satisfaction. Conclusion/Implications: The results of the study that the practical satisfaction level, which is the institutional variable related to child care practice, significantly affects the career decisions of prospective child care teachers, recognize the importance of the child care practice in practical institutions where prospective child care teachers practice and suggest appropriate child care practice based on their understanding of the trainee.
Objectives : The lawsuits associated with medical practice in Korean medicine are increasing gradually. However, the clear definition for medical practice in Korean medicine has not been existed in Korean law. Only we may understand the concept regulated by judicial precedents of the court of justice or the authoritative interpretation by the government. Methods : For study, a database was established for medical lawsuits involving Korean medicine(1968~2009, n=130). Results : According to court rulings, the medical practice in Korean medicine is an act to diagnose a person's illness, prescribe and treat to cure based on traditional Korean medicine, to be understood as a medical care, to have some factor to create or increase danger for the preservation of health or hygiene, and to be practiced by medical specialists based on their professional knowledge. Conclusions : But, such definition is not proper and exceedingly vague. Besides medical circumstances Koreans Medicine are changing, and new precedent to the definition of the practice of medicine is establishing. Therefore the meaning and scope of the medical practice in Korean medicine should be modified and amended, reflecting these conditions.
This paper is motivated by social influence theory implying the multilevel nature of knowledge management (KM) in an organization. Organizational knowledge is generated and distributed by individuals from different groups across organizational boundaries. Its transfers are supported by IS/IT practice, i.e., the individual and collective use of the technology available in the organization. I propose a multilevel perspective to explain how IS/IT practice supports multilevel KM capabilities to manage organizational knowledge successfully and how the effectiveness of multilevel KM capabilities expands into the improvement of multilevel task-related organizational performance. The multilevel KM theory extends the knowledge-based view of the firm by describing the dynamic process through which strategic values of knowledge are generated by IS/IT practice across the organizational levels. This paper also discusses multilevel insights on the strategic value of organizational learning based on the social context of organizations.
The research literature presents that Total Quality Management (TQM) has been successfully embraced by firms for strategic and operational management in the last decades. However few studios analyze the role of TQM practices in the R&D environment. The objective of this study is to evaluate TQM practices implemented in manufacturing-based R&D organizations with respect to R&D performance. Our research model is primarily based on Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence framework, including three moderating variables (industry type, organization size, quality management system certification), to propose hypotheses on the relationships between leadership practice, management practice and R&D performance. Results of canonical correlation analysis using data from 130 R&D organizations show that in aggregate leadership practice is positively related to management practice which is, in turn, positively related to R&D performance. These relationships are, however, affected by the moderating variables. Our results imply that TQM practices can be strategically adopted in the R&D organization.

Conclusion: Updated nursing practice guideline for intravenous infusion was expected to be an evidence-based practice guideline for intravenous infusion in South Korea. This guideline is suggested to be disseminated to clinical nursing settings nationwide to improve the efficiency of intravenous infusion practice.
