This study was done to investigate the independent organizations established for patient safety, related policies, and the duties of experts in other countries. Australia established an organization called the Commission in 2006, the United Kingdom established the National Patients Safety Agency in 2001, and the United States assigned its work to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in 2005. This was done by law in all three countries. The experts for patient safety were mainly called the "patent safety and quality coordinator", and although there was no qualification system for carrying out patient safety work, all three countries had licenses in the health care field or required more than 4-5 years of practical experience. The main duties were planning on patient safety and quality of healthcare service, data collection and analysis, and education, etc. and for this, competencies such as communication, leadership, and teamwork were required.

With the shortage of labor force in small and medium-size industries, the Korean Employment Permit System (EPS) continues to bring migrant workers. However, the question remains of the health and safety management of their migrant workers. Considering that a significant part of safety and health problems are caused by migrant workers due to a lack of information on identifying risk and inexperience in the field. Telephone interviews were conducted to investigate the migrant workers' perspectives on workplace safety practices. The survey focused on workers' accident histories, understanding of safety practices, and responding to industrial accidents. A total of 66 accidents occurred among 30 participants. 10 accidents were not reported to the employer (company), which the foreign workers judged to be minor injuries that should not be reported as accidents. 80.0% of the participants expressed dissatisfaction with the PPE they were using. Among various reasons lack of understanding due to language barriers, lack of awareness of the importance of safety, communication difficulties were major reasons for the caused accidents and potential health issues. It is necessary to improve the safety and health support system by providing practical support through specialized educational institutes with experts in the field. A legal framework and a proper safety management system need to be maintained. This study suggests changing the current policy to improve the health and safety of migrant workers by, establishing specialized educational institutes with locally grown foreign experts in the field.

This study was to analyze the Physical Activity Therapy Programs (PATPs) in U rban-rural region before and after COVID-19 in order to suggest a way of activating program. The subjects were the 43 PATPs performed in 4 Community Health Centers of Gimcheon, Jeongeup, and Pyeongtaek. The basic data was collected by official documents, expenditure budget, the homepage of the centers, national information disclosure portal, telephone interview, and e-mail with the person in charge of the programs. All the data were classified to the administrative districts, the health-related fitness variables, and the life cycles. The American College Sports Medicine Guidelines were used to evaluate the PATPs. As a results, the number of the PATPs was too small compared to the population of the regions. Also, the PATPs were not considered to the characteristics of participants such as Life-Cycle and regional facilities so on. The organization and management of the PATPs were principally deficient in improving health-related fitness variables. In 2020 as the period of COVID-19 pandemic, the number of programs and participants with face-to-face PATPs was significantlry decreased compared to 2019, while that was increased with non-face-to-face PATPs. In conclusion, PATPs should be increased and operated in accordance with scientific exercise prescription guidelines. Also, the programs should be considered with the proportion and characteristics of Life-Cycle population. Further, the various with non-face-to-face PATPs should be developed and screened with based on scientific data for post-corona virus pandemic. Further, non-face-to-face PATPs programs should include a kind of practical way to promote the individual physical activity.

Bridge design is a problem-solving process whose level of design quality strongly depends on how to relate design constraints with feasibile design objectives in conceptual design stage. This paper has focused on how to create bridge shapes using creativity toward better looking bridge appearances in conceptual design stage. The term creativity in this study does not refer to the creation of something from nothing but to the reorganization of existing concepts. Such creativity includes not only enlarging the number of structural forms which is established based on the relationship between form and statics but also combining bridge design with artistic components like an architectural style. Also, this study has investigated the usefulness of graphic statics as a structural analysis tool showing the analysis results visually to generate bridge forms in conceptual design stage. It is expected that the proposed way of generating bridge forms in this study to be used not only for practical purpose but also for educational purpose regarding the aesthetic bridge design serving as a new education paradigm.

Today, the United States, Europe and other advanced organizations are utilizing the concept of competency-based HR management. Recently, many organizations in Korea are also managing workforces by introducing the concept of job competencies in personnel management. However, in spite of the current trend, domestic human resources management methods for construction managers continues to operate by asking about work experience, licensing, education level, etc. This is a seniority system and it functions separately from an assessment of practical job competencies for the business. Moreover, construction management work has been very fragmented in terms of expertise and capacity depending on the type of management work and project progress. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a competencies management system for each business segment to effectively manage job competencies that reflect the the characteristics of a construction manager' s work. As such, the aim of this study is to analyze human resources management methods pertaining to domestic construction managers and present challenges and limitations in current practices. In particular, factors affecting the job competencies of construction managers are analyzed statistically. The results of this study will be used as the basis for future research into development of a construction manager competency management system.

Welding and cutting, which are representative tasks in handling firearms at industrial sites, are the basis for production and maintenance processes across all industries. They are also essential in the root industry. Specifically, they are widely used in the manufacturing industry, including equipment industries such as shipbuilding, automobiles, and chemicals, and subsequent maintenance work and general facility repair. However, such hot work carries a high fire risk owing to sparks scattering and inadequate management, resulting in a high occurrence of accidents. In response, the government and relevant organizations have recently revised the Occupational Safety and Health Act to prevent accidents during hot work. These revisions impose more stringent regulations than before, which are expected to help prevent actual fire accidents. However, whether the fire observer system, which is the core element of the revision, would be practically applied and maintained is unclear. Therefore, this study compared the fire observer system in the revised Occupational Safety and Health Act with those in the laws and systems of developed countries, conducted interviews with safety and health experts to assess the suitability of the new system for fire observer operations, and improvement plans were derived accordingly. Therefore, the laws and systems of developed countries grant more authority to fire observers compared with those of Korea. Moreover, professional training in handling emergency is required. Interviews with safety and health experts revealed that regardless of company size, the same operating standards were applied, and standards for deploying fire observers in various locations were unclear. Furthermore, there was a lack of professional education and training, and the role and authority of fire observers were limited. These findings revealed a problem in this sector. The results of this study are expected to serve as basic data for establishing a practical system for placing fire observers and supplementing laws, guidelines, and systems for preventing fire accidents.
This study is a recognition type study on the usefulness of the field-practice program conducted by departments related to eating out and cooking. The purpose of this study is to derive the common types found among students who have experienced on-the-job training in special cases where the completion of on-the-job training programs, such as the Department of Culinary Arts and Engineering, are designated as graduation requirements and major required courses. By analyzing, we will explore and analyze the factors and issues that can affect the program participation process. As a result of recognition type analysis, a total of four types were derived, and each type was named according to its specificity as follows. Type 1 (N = 8): Sense of Purpose Setting type, Type 2 (N = 8): Interaction Skill Acquisition Types, Type 3 (N = 6): Major Practice Education Enlargement Type, Type 4 (N = 6): The Field Adaptability Improvement Type was analyzed for each unique feature type. Based on the results, it is suggested that efforts to systematize the field practice regulations, improve the government's field practice system plans, and discover new industries to provide opportunities for cultivating practical skills by supplementing the problems of the field practice regulations.

Entrepreneurship of a founder and psychological characteristics are very important factors for the start-up success. To understand the importance like this, this study investigated effect relationships of the entrepreneurship and psychological characteristics on the start-up success. For this, 122 copies of the questionnaire were empirically analyzed for the youth entrepreneurs who entered the youth founder academy which is founded and managed by the Small and Medium Business Corporation. According to results of analysis, both the entrepreneurship consisting of proactivenss, risk taking and autonomy, and the internal locus of control, the psychological characteristics were found to have positive effects on the start-up success. Therefore, this study suggested theoretical and practical implications, as below, according to the results. Firstly, we must be aware of the importance of the entrepreneurship from the perspective of a successful establishment, and, prospective entrepreneurs, who are planning to the start-up, have to judge their entrepreneurship and, only then, make a decision. Secondly, we have to put our best efforts into developing more effective education on start-up, which deals with improving youth founder's entrepreneurship. Therefore, education institutions for start-up are needed in order to develop educational programs such as "Entrepreneurship Training Programs". Thirdly, we must recognize that the role of family is important because most entrepreneurship and psychological characteristics are formed in a person's childhood. Forth, the entrepreneur, themselves, must realize that they has to make an effort to improve their entrepreneurship. Lastly, youth founder's internal locus of control has to be enhanced. Thus, greater attention is required from both the entrepreneur themselves, and educational institutions for start-up.
Texture imaging, which means texture image creation by co-occurrence relation, has been known as one of the useful image analysis methodologies. For this purpose, most commercial remote sensing software provides texture analysis function named GLCM (Grey Level Co-occurrence Matrix). In this study, texture-imaging program based on GLCM algorithm is newly implemented. As well, texture imaging modules for GLDV (Grey Level Difference Vector) are contained in this program. As for GLCM/GLDV Texture imaging parameters, it composed of six types of second order texture functions such as Homogeneity, Dissimilarity, Energy, Entropy, Angular Second Moment, and Contrast. As for co-occurrence directionality in GLCM/GLDV, two direction modes such as Omni-mode and Circular mode newly implemented in this program are provided with basic eight-direction mode. Omni-mode is to compute all direction to avoid directionality complexity in the practical level, and circular direction is to compute texture parameters by circular direction surrounding a target pixel in a kernel. At the second phase of this study, some case studies with artificial image and actual satellite imagery are carried out to analyze texture images in different parameters and modes by correlation matrix analysis. It is concluded that selection of texture parameters and modes is the critical issues in an application based on texture image fusion.
In accordance with the rapidly changing social environment, it is becoming more important to cultivate creative and convergent practical talents with flexible thinking skills and problem-solving skills. Therefore, it is necessary for universities to provide educational experiences that enable students to cooperate and converge multidisciplinaryly to carry out on-the-job projects based on what they have learned at school. Therefore, this study designed, developed, and operated with the aim of cultivating creative talents with integrated problem-solving ability through a multidisciplinary capstone design curriculum based on industry-academia cooperation. To this end, the curriculum was developed together by recruiting participating companies and forming a convergence professor team, and it was operated for 15 weeks for students majoring in cosmetics engineering at D University. After the education was over, learning satisfaction and perceived academic achievement were surveyed, and as a result of the analysis, it was found to be above average with 3.77 points and 3.86 points, respectively. And as a result of the in-depth interview on the participation experience, five themes related to the positive experience and three themes related to the negative experience were derived. This study will be able to provide basic data when operating a multidisciplinary convergence capstone design curriculum based on industry-academia cooperation in the future.
