  • Solid-liquid phase change (i.e. melting or solidification) occurs in a number of situations of practical interest. Some common examples include the melting of edible oil, metallurgical process such as casting and welding, and materials science applications such as crystal growth. Therefore, due to the practical importance of the subject, there have been a large number of experimental and numerical studies of problems involving phase change during the past few decades. Also, this study presented the effective way to enhance phase change heat transfer.

  • H-matrix is a special class of matrices with wide applications in engineering and scientific computation, how to judge if a given matrix is an H-matrix is very important, especially for large scale matrices. In this paper, we obtain several new practical criteria for judging nonsingular H-matrices by using the partitioning technique and Schur complement of matrices. Their effectiveness is illustrated by numerical examples.

  • Optimal allocation of viewers on a terrain in such a wav that the hidden area would be minimized has many practical applications. However, it is impossible in practical sense to evaluate all the possible allocations. In this paper, we propose an optimal allocation of viewers based on genetic algorithm that enables probabilistic search of huge solution space. An experiment for one and three viewers was performed. The algorithm converges to good solutions. Especially, in one viewer case, the algorithm found the best solution.

  • Recently, a lot of research have been studied to apply wireless sensor networks to USN applications. The characteristics of USN applications is that they are varied according to the sort of sensors and sensing objects. They includes military applications, water pollusion monitoring, intelligent traffic system, farm, logistics, location position applications, and so on. There is no traditional method to classify these applications. In this paper, we propose a taxonomy scheme to classify USN applications. The criteria is based on 3 properties, the criticalness of services, the mobility of sensing entity, and the mobility of sensed objects, to classify them into 8 groups. We also describe the technical issues and related works in them. Our taxonomy can make USN applications to be easily understood and memorized.

  • Considering the rapid growth of mobile industry and the emerging application marketing, this study focused on fashion applications, which had not drawn much academic attention before, and analysed relevant content composition, information-seeking benefits based on users' lifestyles and resulting differences in satisfaction and loyalty. In short, fashion applications were divided into fashion and non-fashion brand apps. Brand apps were subdivided into luxury, women's wear, men's wear, casual wear, sportswear, accessories and the like. Non-brand apps included commerce, magazine, information, style tip, SNS and wardrobe manager types. As for users' lifestyle-based information search, the higher the tendency to search information on the internet and to favour reasonable consumption, the more basic information on products and brands they sought, whereas the higher the tendency to look for high-profile brands and to favour global culture, the more additional information like images or entertainments they sought. To sum up, given that studies on fashion-specific applications were rare, the present study reviewed and categorized current fashion applications, and suggested theoretical and practical groundwork for developing content based on target consumers' lifestyle and for planning fashion applications in practice.

  • Mobile applications market has emerged as new business model. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of mobile applications adoption. Based on prior studies of TAM and mobile technology/service, service quality, user experience, OS compatibility, self-efficacy, innovativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and cost were identified as affecting factors of mobile applications adoption. According to the results, service quality is significantly related to the perceived usefulness, and self-efficacy and innovativeness are significantly related to the perceived ease of use. User experience was also found to be related to both the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use. In case of OS compatibility, it was found to be significantly related to the perceived ease of use, but not to the perceived usefulness. Both the perceived usefulness and the perceived ease of use were found to be related to the adoption of mobile applications. However, cost was not found to be significant to the relationship between the perceived usefulness/the perceived ease of use and the adoption of mobile applications. This study contributes to provide the base of activation strategies and practical implications for mobile applications.

  • This study examines the factors influencing the use of mobile food ordering applications and their impact on consumption behavior amidst recent societal changes. It re-evaluates the relevance of factors from the UTAUT2 theory in predicting customers' behavioral intentions. Additionally, the study explores the moderating effect of confidence in food safety measures (CFSM). Quantitative research methods are employed. A structured questionnaire that measures the psychological factors, behavioral intention, and actual usage of mobile food ordering applications was used to collect customer data. Regression and moderation analyses are conducted to test the hypotheses and examine the moderating role of CFSM. The findings reveal that performance expectation, effort expectation, and habit significantly predict customers' intention to use mobile food ordering applications. Moreover, for customers with high CFSM, social influence, facilitating conditions, and hedonic motivation add additional contributions to their behavioral intention. This study extends the UTAUT2 theory by applying it to mobile food ordering applications and examining the influence of CFSM. It identifies the specific factors that drive customers' intention to use these applications and highlights the importance of CFSM as a moderating factor. The findings offer theoretical insights and practical implications for researchers and practitioners in the mobile food ordering industry.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop lesson plans. teaching guide, and teaching materials applying practical reasoning teaching model in the area of ’human development and family relationship’in middle school home economics. The practical reasoning teaching model consists of five factors: Desired results, Awareness of context, Alternative approaches, Consequences of action, and Action. This study based on practical reasoning has following process: Curriculum development. Developing lesson pan, teaching material, an teaching guide, Experimental teaching and evaluation. Feedback, Production of CD-Rom. Teaching guide includes lesson plan, workbook multimedia materials and teaching resources. Especially teaching guide in CD-Rom can be used effectively in the actual teaching. In the classroom, this teaching model accomplished active and interesting participation of teachers and students. It is proposed that practical reasoning teaching model should be applied to other areas of home economics. In addition various teaching materials based on practical reasoning need to developed.

  • Infection control is critical to good dental practice. To this end, it is essential that the practitioner not only understand the concepts involved in the development and applications of antimicrobial(physical and chemical) agents but also know how to use them properly in the dental operatory. Practical applications of infection control are more fully described in several of the suggested references.

  • In this paper, we try to analyze two kinds of conventional neuro-fuzzy learning algorithms, which are widely used in recent fuzzy applications for tuning fuzzy rules, and give a summarization of their properties. Some of these properties show that uses of the conventional neuro-fuzzy learning algorithms are sometimes difficult or inconvenient for constructing an optimal fuzzy system model in practical fuzzy applications.
