  • An electricity consumption is closely related to the economic growth structure. The change of economic growth structure affects the pattern of electricity consumption widely and severely. This paper gives that the primary changing factors of electricity growth are economic growth, change of industry structure(the change of electricity consumption ratio in case of residential sector), and the effect of electricity saying. It gives a model to analyze the influence of GDP to the change of electricity consumption patterns by sector through the period of pre and post 1998(IMF, financial crisis) to observe the contribution of each factor to the growth of electricity demand. It is anticipated that this study shows the feasible scheme of economic structure to become the developed country.

  • Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture(YKAP) possesses the potential to become the first testing ground for the North-East Asian Energy Cooperation in renewable energy sector. We found that production of biodiesel from rapeseed and CHP (Combined Heat and Power Plant) project utilizing abundant forest resources are the two main bioenergy development projects which may have further development potential considering the resource endowments and the focus of Chinese governments' current rural development policy. Provision of stable and transparent investment environments and the development of a close cooperation mechanism between Korea and China government are the prerequisite conditions for investments in the sector. Other international institutional agreements, such as CDM, shall be fully utilized for biomass CHP projects.

  • The present study purposed to establish a network for building an efficient disaster response system and for this purpose, we compared cases of disaster response in Japan and Korea. In Japan, disasters are responded jointly through the network of the central government, local self governing bodies and non governmental organizations. In Korea, however, the cooperative network among different areas is weak and this is aggravating damages caused by disasters. That is, in Korea, disaster response services have been mainly carried out by the public sector. The public sector can operate a powerful disaster management system using its extensive management resources, compelling power, and legal authorities. However, it was found that, due to the characteristics of contemporary society, efforts by the public sector including the central government and the local self government bodies have limitations in managing disasters effectively. Thus, for efficient disaster response in Korea, it is urgently required to establish a national disaster response network as well as a private sector cooperation system and to induce NGOs to participate in the disaster response system through institutional devices.

  • In many countries, the electric power industry is undergoing significant changes known as deregulation and restructuring. These alterations introduce competition in generation and retail and require open access to the transmission network. The competition of the electric power industry causes many issues to surface. Among them, unbundling of the transmission service is probably the most complicated as it is a single and integrated sector and the transmission revenue requirement must be allocated to market participants in a fair way. In these situations, it is valuable to research the methodologies to allocate transmission usage. The power tracing method offers useful information such as which generators supply a particular load or how much each generator (load) uses a particular transmission line. With this information, we can allocate required transmission revenue to market participants. Recently, several algorithms were proposed for tracing power flow but there is no dominant power tracing method. This paper proposes a power tracing method based on graph theory and complex-current distribution. For practicability, the proposed method for transmission usage allocation is applied to IEEE 30 buses and compared with the method proposed by Felix F.Wu.

  • Purpose - The core objective of this study is to comprehend the diverse nature of implementation of sources of power in the Indian context. Research design, data, and methodology - After a meticulous review of the relevant literature on various types of power with a particular kind of managers'involvement, the article reviews the Indian managers' behavioral perception and attitudinal disposition while exercising power in their organization, along with a judicious blend of different kinds of power to drive the organization to the expected level. Results - As an input to a full-fledged research study, researchers had taken up this precise discussion and observation on how the managers' community in India exercises its power. Generally, Indian managers usually implement legitimate power besides reward and coercive power as per the situation, by extending copious benefits to different stakeholders. Based on the psychological and behavioral disposition, Indian managers exercised power in their respective organizations in a fruitful manner. Conclusions -This article has carefully covered the entire corporate sector regardless of magnitude, type, or ownership. It is quite beneficial to all the proactive researchers and academia along with the corporate world.

  • While considering the current scenario, in this world power demand goes on increases day by day. Frequent power outages occur in high voltage transmission line due to the deprived performance of polluted insulators; this affects overall operation of power system and may indirectly impinge on the growth of production sector. Many researchers are keenly taking efforts to provide highly reliable and stable power to neediest. In this paper, A.C pollution flashover performance of disc type glass insulator and composite long rod insulators investigation under various artificial pollutions by varying Equivalent Salt Density Deposition (ESDD) levels. Here, we use different types of pollution methods like binding method, dipping method and spraying methods with different types of pollutants concentration. Based on dimensional analysis, four different Mathematical models have been developed to predict the A.C pollution Flashover Voltage (FOV) of insulators. Both the experimental and mathematically modeled results are compared; it's observed that mathematical model 3 yields better results.

  • International construction contracts to Korean construction companies have been dramatically increased over the 48 years (Contract received worth 65.2 billion dollars in 2013). Especially, the plant construction sector has achieved about 61% among the 65.2 billion dollars. Under this trend, in order to ensure plant construction's competitiveness, 'standard classification' is an important area for systematic management. However, these standards in the plant construction are not widely utilized yet, in comparison with civil and building sectors. Therefore, in this research, a higher level of standard classifications is proposed for various types of power plants from a PMO's (Project Management Office) perspective. This study also provides a comparative analysis outlining different features and common components based on various types of power plants.
