Development of combined generation systems that power storage apparatus is applied (동력저장장치가 적용된 복합발전시스템의 개발)

  • The developments of the solar and the wind power energy are neccessary since the future alternative energies that have no pollution and no limitation are restricted. Currently power generation system of existing problems, combined generation system of photovoltaic(400W) and wind power generation system(400W) was suggested. It combines wind power and solar energy to have the supporting effect from each other. However, weather condition, power compensation device that uses elastic energy of spiral spring to combined generation system was also added for the present study. In an experiment, when output of system gets lower than 12V(charging voltage), power was continuously supplied to load through the inverter by charging energy obtained from generating rotary energy of spiral spring operates in small scale generator.

  • Design & operation power systems for meeting increase of electric power demand is becoming more difficult and complex. Some of limitations of conventional technology can be broken through by the application of superconductivity technology. This paper presents a new concept & image for the configuration of superconducting power system which has introduced superconducting(SC) generator, cable, transformer, fault current limiter(SFCL), SMES, etc. Engineering evaluation of each power apparatus and its assessment of application to power system were conducted. Futhermore, it is pointed that superconducting power system require a new operating condition. This is, SFCL should play a important part of quenching current level coordination to prevent the other superconducting devices from quenching. Its designing & operating condition including SFCL was discussed in viewpoint of quenching current level and insulation coordination of SC coil.

Multi-physics Analysis for Temperature Rise Prediction of Power Transformer

  • In this paper, a method for multi-physics analysis of the temperature-dependent properties of an oil-immersed transformer is discussed. To couple thermal fields with electromagnetic and fluid fields, an algorithm employing a user defined function (UDF) is proposed. Using electromagnetic analysis, electric power loss dependent on temperature rise is calculated; these are used as input data for multi-physics analysis in order to predict the temperature rise. A heat transfer coefficient is applied only at the outermost boundary between transformer and the atmosphere in order to reduce the analysis region. To verify the validity of the proposed method, the predicted temperature rises in high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) windings and radiators were compared with the experimental values.

  • In the high-power tests to be performed on electrical apparatus as circuit-breaker, load switch, fuse, transformers, insulators, cable and so on, the results of tests on these apparatus are extremely important to evaluate the performance of test object. The reliability of the results depends on the reliability of measuring systems used in the laboratories where tests are performed. This paper deals with factors of uncertainty and describes estimation of uncertainty in new measuring system used in high-power testing LAB. 1 in KERI.

  • Input power for TEM cell apparatus due to SAR(Specific Absorption Rate) for culture blood cell is determined by the transmission and reflection measurement of blood into the TEM cell. Blood cell with skin cell are reference culture cells for the study of EM wave effect. Exposure RF power from exposure apparatus to culture cell should not only exact for SAR value, but also should be based on the theoretical theory. In this paper, insertion loss of 50 g blood was measured to know exposure power per gram for culture blood cell, and input power of TEM cell due to SAR 0.8, 1.6, 3, 4 mW/g using the measured data are delivered. This study is for applying to EM wave exposure apparatus to culture cell.

  • In this paper we introduce preventative and diagnostic systems developed to prevent substations from accidental fault of electric power transmitting apparatus. We propose monitoring and diagnostic system for ultra high voltage GIS and main transformer of 765kV substations as an example of preventative and diagnostic techniques being applied in Korea. We also present a guideline to construct and manage an expert system for this purpose. Finally, an engineering solution as a substation management support system is proposed.

  • Pneumatic cylinder meter-out driving apparatus is used widely because it is clean, lightweight, and can be easily serviced. In this study an estimation method of energy consumption for pneumatic cylinder meter-out driving apparatus is proposed. The proposed method is derived from state equation and energy equation of air, and, the equation of motion of a moving part of a pneumatic cylinder reflecting the characteristics of the meter-out driving. The effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by simulation study and it demonstrates that the proposed method can evaluate the energy consumption quickly and easily when the parameters of the driving apparatus are changed.

  • Low level laser therapy has various therapy effects, This paper performed the basic study for fabricating the low level laser therapy apparatus, and one of the goals of this paper was to make this apparatus used handily. The apparatus has been fabricated using the laser diode and microprocessor unit. The apparatus used a 660nm, 785nm and 850nm laser diode for laser medical therapy and was designed for a pulse width modulation type to increase stimulation effects. To raise the stimulus effect of the human body, the optical irradiation frequency could be set up. In result, the $1{\sim}10\;Hz$ irradiation frequency could be controlled stably.

  • Pneumatic actuators are clean, lightweight, and can be easily serviced, whereas low energy efficiency has been considered as a critical shortcoming compared with corresponding hydraulic and electrical actuators. This study describes a new design method of pneumatic cylinder driving apparatus by lowering a supply pressure. The simulation study demonstrates that the designed system with the proposed method can operate at the smaller energy consumption state compare to the designed system with the conventional method for the specified working conditions.

  • It is practically required to develop an optical transmission system, for the diagnosis of electric power apparatus, which enables to distinguish the right signals related to the partial discharge taken place inside the apparatus. These partial discharges are transformed into ultra sonic signals by the sensor and then used for the voltage application to pokels cell. Afterwards, the modulated laser beam is transmitted through the optical fiber. Throughout this work, a laser-beam based detecting system is developed and permits us to reproduce the transmitted signals indirectly without electromagnetic interference. For this purpose the characteristics of this system is well analyzed by means of different type of signals from function generator.
