  • As high speed digital systems continue to use components with faster edge rate and clock speeds, transmission of the digital information, it can bring about many troubles. The increasing requirement for controlled impedance PCBs becomes both a critical success factor and a design challenge to implement a system. Especially, the noise sources in high frequency digital systems include the noise in power supply, ground and packaging, and they destroy the fidelity of signals. Therefore PCB design with impendence matching is needed to improve fidelity of signal in H/W. In this paper, we have developed an impedance control and analysis tool for multi-layer PCB design, and simulates the tracks controlled impedance with the test coupon. So, it can save the design time and support the economical PCB design.

  • In this paper, the results of the measurement and analysis of extremely low frequency(ELF) electric field in the vicinity of 154[kV] overhead transmission lines have been described. The planar-type electric field sensor has been fabricated by three dimensional structure with special consideration of taking the power frequency and lower components. The calibration experiments have been carried out according to the procedures of IEEE recommendation. The electric field measuring system has the frequency bandwidth of 7[Hz] to 2.7[MHz] and the response sensitivity of 0.094[mV/V/m]. Also the practical measurements of electric field under an 154[kV] double circuit overhead transmission lines have been made and analyzed. It was known that the lateral electric field profiles under an 154[kV] double circuit overhead transmission lines show the asymmetrical distributions owing to the environmental metal frame structures and their maximum electric field magnitude is less than 3[kV/m]. It can be concluded that the measured results of the electric fields satisfy with all limits or guidelines of the various authorized international institutes' recommendations.

Study on $CO_2$ Evaporation Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop in a Horizontal Smooth Tube (수평 평활관내 $CO_2$ 증발열전달 및 압력강하에 관한 연구)

  • Experimental study on the heat transfer characteristics of $CO_2$ in a horizontal smooth tube was carried out to investigate the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop during evaporation of $CO_2$. The experiment apparatus consisted of a test section, a DC power supply, a heater, a chiller, a mass flow meter, a pump and a measurement system. Experiment was conducted for various mass fluxes ($200{\sim}1200kg/m^2s$), heat flukes ($10{\sim}100kW/m^2$) and saturation temperatures (-5, 0, $5^{\circ}C$). With increasing the heat flux, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient increased. But the variation of the heat transfer coefficient on the increase of the mass flux was not large. And the significantly drops of the heat transfer coefficient was observed at any heat flux and mass flux because of the change of the flow pattern in the tube. With increasing the saturation temperature, the heat transfer coefficient increased due to the promotion of a nucleate boiling. The measured pressure drop during evaporation increased with increasing the mass flux and decreasing the saturation temperature.

  • In order to investigate $CO_2$ heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop by PAG oil concentration during $CO_2$ evaporation, the experiment on evaporation heat transfer characteristics in a mini-channels were performed. The experimental apparatus consisted of a test section, a DC power supply, a heater, a chiller, a mass flow meter, a pump and a measurement system. Experiment was conducted for various mass fluxes($300{\sim}800kg/m^{2}s$), heat fluxes($10{\sim}40kW/m^2$) saturation temperatures($-5{\sim}5^{\circ}C$), and PAG oil concentration(0, 3, 5wt%). The variation of the heat transfer coefficient was different according to the oil concentration. With the increase of the oil concentration, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient decreased and the delay of dryout by oil addition was found. Pressure drop increased with the increase of the oil concentration and heat flux, and the decrease of saturation temperature.

Accuracy of full arch digital model obtained from rendering-based intraoral scanner(IOS) : An example of CS-3600 system (동영상 촬영방식의 구강스캐너로 채득된 전악치열 디지털모형의 정확도 분석 : CS-3600 시스템을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the accuracy of definitive casts that are fabricated from digital intraoral impression and conventional impression technique. Methods: A master model(ANNA-4, Frasaco GmbH, Tettnang, Germany) with the prepared upper full arch tooth was used. Conventional impression and then stone model(n=10) were produced from this master model, and on the other hands, digital impressions were made with the CS-3600 intraoral scanner(n=10). Six linear measurements were recorded between landmarks, directly on each of the stone models on two occasions by a single examiner. Measurements were made with a digital caliper to the nearest 0.01mm from manual models and with the software(Delcam PowerSHAPE) from the virtual models. The t-student test for paired samples and intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC) were used for statistical analysis. Results: The measurement of two methods showed good reliability. The ICC of the two models were 0.88~0.91(stone model) and 0.94~0.99(digital model). The mean differences to master model for stone model and digital model were 0.10~0.14mm, and 0.14~0.20mm, respectively. Conclusion: The definitive casts obtained with digital intraoral technique model had significantly larger dimensions as compared to those of the stone model. However, the differences to the master model detected appear to provide enough accuracy and reliability for clinical application.

  • In point of fact, there is a lack of explicit models that explain how services are perceived and evaluated by consumers who use them; present research on service quality has begun as a measure to complement this development. In this study, we applied the service quality model of PZB model based on Parasuraman et al.(1988) and the BNC model based on Brady and Cronin(2001), and compared the superiorities of each model. As a result of analyzing the questionnaire provided for terminal users, the BNC model is more superior than the PZB model. The increase in the number of factors led to an increase in the provided information, as a result of this, the model's explanatory power seems to be high. The results of this study may be different according to the characteristics of the industry, but we hope that the results presented in this study will lead to the expansion of the scope of research for the port loading and unloading business in the future.

Experiment was conducted for various mass fluxes ($200{\sim}1200\;kg/m^2s$), heat fluxes ($10{\sim}80\;kW/m^2$) and saturation temperatures ($-5{\sim}5^{\circ}C$). With the increase of quality, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient decreased. With the increase of heat flux, the evaporation heat transfer coefficient increased. Significantly change of the heat transfer coefficient was observed at any heat flux and mass flux. With the increase of saturation temperature, the heat transfer coefficient increased. Pressure drop increased with the increase of mass flux and the decrease of saturation temperature.

  • The demand for small and high-capacity optical data storage devices has rapidly increased. The areal density of optical disk is increased using higher numerical aperture objective lens and shorter wavelength source. A wafer-scale stacked micro objective lens with a numerical aperture of 0.85 and a focal length of 0.467mm for the 405nm blue- violet laser was designed and fabricated. A diffractive optical element (DOE) was used to compensate the spherical aberration of the objective lens. Among the various fabrication methods for micro DOE, the UV-replication process is more suitable for mass-production. In this study, an 8-stepped DOE pattern as a master was fabricated by photolithography and reactive ion etching process. A flexible mold was fabricated for improving the releasing properties and shape accuracy in UV-molding process. In the replication process, the effects of exposing time and applied pressure on the replication quality were analyzed. Finally, the shapes of master, mold and molded pattern were measured by optical scanning profiler. The deviation between the master and the molded DOE was less than 0.1um. The efficiency of the molded DOE was measured by DOE efficiency measurement system which consists of laser source, sample holder, aperture and optical power meter, and the measured value was $84.5\%$.

  • According to lessons learned from an accident of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, it is advisable to make a comprehensive radiation survey by the accident phase for efficient response and risk management using diverse survey platforms. This study focuses on the technical status of environmental radiation monitoring using a UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle) and the performance test of developed aerial survey system based on two detectors with an high energy resolution through the field application to contaminated areas. Finally, the performance of aerial survey at diverse flight heights was successfully achieved by introducing the correction factor to represent the results into ambient dose rate at 1m above the ground.

Radiation measurement and imaging using 3D position sensitive pixelated CZT detector

  • In this study, we evaluated the performance of a commercial pixelated cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) detector for spectroscopy and identified its feasibility as a Compton camera for radiation monitoring in a nuclear power plant. The detection system consisted of a $20mm{\times}20mm{\times}5mm$ CZT crystal with $8{\times}8$ pixelated anodes and a common cathode, in addition to an application specific integrated circuit. The performance of the various radioisotopes $^{57}Co$, $^{133}Ba$, $^{22}Na$, and $^{137}Cs$ was evaluated. In general, the amplitude of the induced signal in a CZT crystal depends on the interaction position and material non-uniformity. To minimize this dependency, a drift time correction was applied. The depth of each interaction was calculated by the drift time and the positional dependency of the signal amplitude was corrected based on the depth information. After the correction, the Compton regions of each spectrum were reduced, and energy resolutions of 122 keV, 356 keV, 511 keV, and 662 keV peaks were improved from 13.59%, 9.56%, 6.08%, and 5%-4.61%, 2.94%, 2.08%, and 2.2%, respectively. For the Compton imaging, simulations and experiments using one $^{137}Cs$ source with various angular positions and two $^{137}Cs$ sources were performed. Individual and multiple sources of $^{133}Ba$, $^{22}Na$, and $^{137}Cs$ were also measured. The images were successfully reconstructed by weighted list-mode maximum likelihood expectation maximization method. The angular resolutions and intrinsic efficiency of the $^{137}Cs$ experiments were approximately $7^{\circ}-9^{\circ}$ and $5{\times}10^{-4}-7{\times}10^{-4}$, respectively. The distortions of the source distribution were proportional to the offset angle.
