2K-H II 형식 복합형 무단변속기의 효율실험 (Performance Efficiency of Compound CVTs with a 2K-H II)

  • We designed the compound CVT (Continuously Variable Transmissions) by combining power circulation mode CVT and power split mode CVT, which have been proposed for connecting 2K-H II differential gear to the V- belt type CVU (Continuously Variable Unit), as an input coupled type. With the designed compound CVT, we carried out theoretical analysis and performance experiments. We proved that the compound CVT had a better performance than either of the power circulation mode or power split mode.

  • As combining the functions of a 2K-H B type differential gear unit and a V-belt type continuously variable unit(CVU), 16 different mechanisms are presented. Some useful theoretical formula related to speed ratio, power flow and efficiency are derived and analyzed. Continuously variable transmission(CVT) mechanisms are proposed, which can of ffr a backward mode, a geared neutral, an underdrive mode and an overdrive mode. They are not required of a starting device as a torque converter. CVT mechanisms developed here present two distinct operating modes which are a power circulation mode and a power split mode. The transition of two modes takes place at the particular CVU speed ratio. For these CVT mechanisms, performance analysis related to speed ratio, power ratio and theoretical efficiency are executed.

고속 스위칭에 의한 송전선로 과부하 해소 연구 (A Study on the Transmission Overload Relief by Fast Switching)

  • Because of computational burden and complex topology of substation, a transmission overload relief using circuit-breaker switching was very complex and difficult. However, a on-line algorithm for reducing the overloads in transmission lines has made progress due to the advance of IT technology. This paper describes the methodology for alleviating the overloads in transmission lines by circuit-breaker switching. First, the severe contingency lists and substations were selected from the results of contingency analysis. Then the switch combinations are determined using circuit-breakers of the selected substation. The topology changes are limited to equipment outage, bus split, island split, bus merge and island merge. Finally, the fast screening and full analysis methods are used to analyze the overload in transmission lines. To verify the performance of the proposed methodology, we performed a comprehensive test for both test system and large-scale power systems. The results of these tests showed that the proposed methodology can accurately alleviate the overloads in transmission lines from online data and can be applied to on-line applications.

동력분기식 무단변속기의 유압구동부 설계 (Design of a Hydraulic System for a Power Split type CVT)

  • This article describes the design of a hydraulic system for a power split type continuously variable transmission (CVT). The CVT considered here, is composed of planetary gears, clutches, and a torque converter which is mainly used for the realization of CVT function. Similar to automatic transmissions, the hydraulic system of CVT is designed for supplying hydraulic flows and pressures to each component of CVT, in order to activate the clutch engagements and torque converter operation, and to cool the drivetrain. By using the mathematical models of drivetrain, a simulation program was developed to investigate the power performance of CVT equipped vehicle and the operating conditions of each component of CVT. And the design parameters of the hydraulic system and clutches were calculated using the operating conditions and power requirements which obtained from the simulation results. Finally the hydraulic circuit design of prototyped valve body is presented based on the numerical results of this analysis.

  • A torque split type multi-pass CVT(MPC) system consiting of CVT and planetary gear train with 4 clutches was suggested to overcome the inherent inferior acceleration performance of CVT. Also, a shifting algorithm of MPC was suggested for the two driving modes : (1) power mode and (2) economy mode. By using the shifting algorithm and the MPC vehicle dynamic model, numerical simulations were performed to estimate the performance of the MPC vehicle. Simulation results showed that comparing the performance of the conventional 4-speed automatic transmission, an improvement in acceleration can be obtained by MPC for the power mode and 31% improvement in fuel economy for the economy mode.

Split Slant-End Stubs for the Design of Broadband Efficient Power Amplifiers

  • This paper suggests a class-F power amplifier with split open-end stubs to provide a broadband high-efficiency operation. These stubs are designed to have wide bandwidth by splitting wide open-end stubs into narrower stubs connected in shunt in an output matching network for class-F operation. In contrast to conventional wideband class-F designs, which theoretically need a large number of matching lines, this method requires fewer transmission lines, resulting in a compact circuit implementation. In addition, the open-end stubs are designed with slant ends to achieve additional wide bandwidth. To verify the suggested design, a 10-W class-F power amplifier operating at 1.7 GHz was implemented using a commercial GaN transistor. The measurement results showed a peak drain efficiency of 82.1% and 750 MHz of bandwidth for an efficiency higher than 63%. Additionally, the maximum output power was 14.45 W at 1.7 GHz.

S-파라미터 변환을 통한 비대칭 분배되는 임피던스 변환기 (An Impedance Transformer with Unequal Split Based on S-Parameter Conversion)

  • 본 논문은 S-파라미터를 어드미턴스 파라미터로 변환하는 것을 바탕으로 비대칭 분배되면서 동시에 임의의 임피던스로 변환시킬 수 있는 임피던스 변환기를 나타내었다. 회로 해석 방법을 우수/ 기수 모드 방법과 비교하면 본 논문의 파라미터 변환을 통한 방법은 위상 지연 정보와 임의의 포트 임피던스 값을 포함시키고 그리고 비대칭 구조등을 해석하는데 간단함을 알 수 있다. 이 설계 방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위해서 중심주파수 1 GHz에서 3:1의 비대칭 분배비율을 갖고 있고 $50{\Omega}$$12.5{\Omega}$ 비율로 변환되는 임피던스 변환기를 설계하였다. 임피던스 변환기를 구현하는 방법은 유도된 수식으로부터 계산된 작은 임피던스 선로를 병렬 오픈스터브가 연결된 전송선로를 사용하여 구현하였고, 이것의 실험 결과는 시뮬레이션 결과와 동일하게 나옴을 확인하였다.

Split Ring 공진기를 이용한 K-Band Oscillator (The K-band Oscillator using Split Ring Resonator)

  • 본 논문에서는 23 GHz 국간(Point-to-point) 통신용 Push-Push발진기를 Split Ring 공진기(Split Ring Resonator)를 사용하여 설계, 제작하였다. Split Ring 공진기(SRR)는 둥가회로를 이용한 이론적인 해석 및 MPIE(Mixed Potential Integral Equation)수칙해석 툴을 이용 해석하였다. 이 해석된 결과를 사용하여 전송 모드로 마이크로 스트립 라인과 결합된 SRR를 분석하였다. 제작된 발진기은 23 GHz에서 출력 전력은 4dBm, 기본 주파수 및 3차 고조파 억제는 - 20 dBc, - 34 dBc의 특성과 발진주파수에서 1 MHz offset에서 -109 d dEc/Hz의 SSB위상잡음 및 1.4%의 변환 효율을 나타내었다. 이 실험결과는 이론 및 시뮬레이션 결과와 일치함을 알 수 있다.

Mechatronic Control Model of the Wind Turbine with Transmission to Split Power

  • In this paper, a wind turbine with power splitting transmission, which is realized through a novel three-shaft planetary, is presented. The input shaft of the transmission is driven by the rotor of the wind turbine, the output shaft is connected to the grid via the main generator (asynchronous generator), and the third shaft is driven by a control motor with variable speed. The dynamic models of the sub systems of this wind turbine, e.g. the rotor aerodynamics, the drive train dynamics and the power generation unit dynamics, were given and linearized at an operating point. These sub models were integrated in a multidisciplinary dynamic model, which is suitable for control syntheses to optimize the utilization of wind energy and to reduce the excessive dynamic loads. The important dynamic behaviours were investigated and a wind turbine with a soft main shaft was recommend.

정유압-기계식 변속기의 성능 특성과 형식 선정을 위한 설계 변수 (Performance Characteristics of Hydro-mechanical Transmission and Design Parameters for Type Selection)

  • Market demand for hydro-mechanical transmission (HMT) for agricultural tractors has increased recently. To select a type of HMT satisfying design conditions, performance characteristics of 12 HMT types must be understood. This study was conducted to provide tractor engineers with a guideline to select the most appropriate HMT type for their design requirements. Characteristics on speed reduction ratio, power transmission efficiency, power regeneration, lock-up angular velocity, output torque ratio and torque ratio of planetary gear train axis of the 12 HMT types were investigated and presented as either formula or graphical forms. A guideline to select proper HMT type was also presented using 2 parameter: lock-up angular velocity (${\omega}_L$) and torque ratio of the planetary gear train axis. In addition, effect of gear ratio of the planetary gear train on the power transmission efficiency was investigated and a guideline to select the best gear ratio was also presented.
