초전도 전력케이블의 교류손실 측정 (AC loss Measurement of Superconducting Power Cable)

  • As a research activity of the project of "Verification Test of Superconducting Power Cable", we measured the AC loss of a short length superconducting power cable. The rating and the length of the cable were 22.9kV, 1,250A and 2.2m. The voltage taps for measuring the AC loss were attached to both ends of the conductor of the superconducting cable. Through the voltage taps and a lock-in amplifier we measured the in-phase component of the voltage($V_x$) with the load current(I). The AC loss was measured by multiplying the in-phase component of the voltage($V_x$) by the load current(I). The value of the AC loss of the superconducting power cable was 1.18W/m/phase/kA at 77.3K, 1atm.

Bridgeless Buck PFC Rectifier with Improved Power Factor

  • Buck power factor correction (PFC) converters, compared with conventional boost PFC converters, exhibit high efficiency performance in the entire range of universal line voltage. This feature has gotten more attention for eliminating the zero crossing dead angle of buck PFC rectifiers. Furthermore, bridgeless structures for the reduction of conduction losses have been proposed. The aim of this paper is to introduce a single-phase buck rectifier that simultaneously has unity power factor (PF) and bridgeless structure while operating in the continuous conduction mode (CCM). For this purpose, two auxiliary flyback converters without any active switches are applied to a bridgeless buck rectifier to eliminate the zero crossing dead angle and achieve unity power factor, low total harmonic distortion (THD) and high efficiency. The operation and design considerations of the proposed rectifier are verified on a 150W, 48V prototype using a conventional peak-current-mode control. The measurement results show that the proposed rectifier has nearly unity power factor, THD less than 7% and high efficiency.

  • This paper discusses the surveying of a power transmission line using Real Time Kinematic(RTK) GPS technology. The use of RTK provides users with an accurate position at the moment in time. Application result of a 765kV transmission line surveying proved to be more accurate and efficient than using a traditional EDM (Electro-magnetic distance measurement) method. More, decrease in numbers of trees cut down which is a major cause of public discontents was achieved. Improvements in doing a surveying of a power transmission line using GPS is expected in the future.

  • Recently Many technologies of the P.L.N (Power Line Network) are introduced for an efficient communication. P.L.N transmits information using power line channel. A medical information transmission system is proposed in this paper for the effective transmission. The Power Line Networks have an advantage in low cost because it uses existent power line. It can be easily applied anywhere that a power line socket is available. But the power line channel is very noisy, because many electronic devices in generate electronic noise in modulated signals. This problem should be considered carefully in the design of medical information transmission system using P.L.N. The proposed system can be applied...I propose a telemedicine system using the power line network.

  • 750kW gearless type wind turbine, named U50, is developed by UNISON in Korea. The newly developed wind turbine should be evaluated the power curve and the estimated annual energy production by following international standard to verify the power performance characteristics. This paper shows the test and evaluation procedure according to IEC 61400-12-1 which specifies a procedure of measuring the power performance characteristics of a single wind turbine and applies to the testing of wind turbines of all types and sized connected to the electrical power network. And this paper also shows the power performance characteristics for U50 wind turbine which is determined in accordance with IEC regulation.

  • Due to high oil price and global warming of the earth, investments for renewable energy have been increased a lot continuously. Specially, wind power has been received a great attention in the world. In order to construct a new wind farm, forecasting of wind power generation is essential for a feasibility test. This paper investigates wind velocity measurement data of Gosan weather station which located in Hankyung of Jeju island. This paper presents results of estimation of wind power generation using digital weather forecast provided from Korea meteorological administration, and the accuracy of the wind power forecasting by comparison between forecasted data and actual wind power data.

  • 본 논문에서는 Liquid crystal display (LCD) Backlight module중에 Cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL)를 포함한 인버터가 가지고 있는 기생 용량 측정 방법을 고안하였다. CCFL의 부성 저항 특성을 고려하여 램프의 정적 저항 성분을 일정하게 유지시키고 입력 전압 대 출력 전압의 비 중 최대 Gain을 갖는 주파수를 찾아내 기생 용량을 계산하는 Algorithm을 완성하였다. 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 통해 비교 검증함으로써 측정 방법의 유효성을 입증하였다.

  • 개방형 스페이서(barrier)가 적용된 가스 절연개폐장치(GIS)에 외장형 부분방전(PD) 센서를 적용 하고 센서장착부, 인근 스페이서 또는 부싱으로 유입되는 광대역 잡음신호의 투과율을 10 - 2000 MHz의 극초단파 영역에서 측정하였다. 또한 간단한 금속 차폐체에 의한 잡음신호의 감쇄효과도 측정 하였다. 스페이서 또는 부싱을 통하여 인근센서에 유입되는 잡음의 크기는 차폐시와 대비하여 약 25 dB 증가하였다.

과천 송전선로 전자계 측정 (Measurement of Magnetic and Electric Field from Kwachun Power Transmission Lines)

  • Early this year the construction of new high voltage power lines have been forced to stop due to the demonstration of residents in Kwa-chun. According to mutual agreement between the residents and Korea Electric Power Corporation, electromagnetic field(EMF) from present power lines was measured and EMF after completion of new power lines was estimated. The results show that EMF near power lines Is relatively low, and EMFnear electric substation is quite high due to the short distance between the power lines and ground. For 4 conduction 345kV line, magnetic field decreases to 3mG at the distance of 50m from the power line.

  • The electricity supply industry for which high stability and quality of power are the primary aim of power company and the first order of business target. As the facilities of generations, transmissions and substations are increased every year, power system becomes more complex and hard to control. The complexity of the power system causes harmful influence on its security and power facilities. Moreover, difficulty of predicting weather condition in these days with its complexity increases the level of uncertainty of energy demand. Wide area online monitoring of power system offers lots of informations and solutions which clear the causes of insecurity in power system. In this paper, we presents the development of synchrophasor data measurement and transmission system using satellite network for power system online monitoring.
