The Evaluation of NOx Emission Factor from Large Combustion Facilities in Seoul (서울지역 대형연소시설에서의 질소산화물 배출계수 산정)

  • The emission factor of nitrogen oxides(NOx) was evaluate to clarify the characteristics of NOx emitted from seven large combustion facilities in seoul area. The emission factors of NOx at A-1 and A-2 facilities of internal combustion engine were 66.957kgNOx/ton and 20.913kgNOx/ton, respectively. The emission factor of A-1 facility was higher than that of A-2 facility even same internal combustion engine, because A-1 facility adopted SCR(selective catalystic reactor) for reduction of NOx emission factor of A-2, A-4, and A-7 power generation boiler facilities were 4.300kgNOx/ton, 2.460kgNOx/ton and 1.796kgNOx/ton, respectively. The capacity of A-2 facility was about two times than that of A-4 and A-7. These emission factors were lower than those at facilities in other areas of korea, because of using low NOx burner of power generation boiler. The emission factors of NOx at A-3 and A-6 incinerator facilities were 0.147kgNOx/ton and 0.221kgNOx/ton which were lower than other facilities, respectively, because these facilities incinerate municipal solid waste of low heating value and uwe SCR for reducing NOx concentration.

  • The distribution facilities fault has been anually shown about 13% all of the total distribution faults. Therefore, to prevent, the distribution facilities we have to manage them properly during their life time and enhance their quality and advance preventible maintenance, that is predictive maintenance or condition based maintenance. This paper presents the aging characteristics and the degenerating factors. Accordingly, improving the enhanced quality of distribution facilites is expected to contribute the electric power operation constantly.

  • The management of the electric power facilities became important in accordance with the industrial development and electric power facilities were influenced by weather. Even if the same kind of electric power facilities is estimated for extracting the time-varying failure rate, the failure rate could be different depending on external effect such as climate. This research will show the data mining modeling of the weather-related outage and influence of weather on the electric power facility with recent data.

  • The most electrical apparatus should be able to withstand short-time current and peak current during a specified short time until circuit breakers have interrupted fault current. It defines the short-time withstand ability of electric a apparatus to be remain for a time interval under high fault current conditions. It is specified by both dynamic ability and thermal capability. KERI(Korea Electrotechlology Research Institute) recently constructed the new short-time current and low voltage short circuit testing facilities. This paper shows short- circuit calculation of transformer and describes high current measuring system, and evaluate the result of short-time withstand test used in $3{\phi}$ 90MVA short-time current testing facilities.

  • Because of the environmental matters the importance of the city railroad is as time goes by increasing. The case of obstacle of the power equipment which supplies electric power to city railroad will occur social and economical enormous loss. Thus, I studied on the preventing method in advance which makes it possible for us to maintain facilities efficiently. The main check points of the power facilities are voltage, current, humidity, partial discharge, move current. These points are gathered by sensor and transmitting to data acquisition device. These data are used to check equipment status in real time. In this paper I described in brief test process and results of the detection system.

  • This paper discusses a strategy and status for development and operation of durability mock-up test facilities for offshore structures. The strategy is examplified and facilitated using an offshore transmission tower crossing the West sea and the Shihwha lake, which was designed and constructed 345kV T/L lines transmitting power from Yeong-Heung fossil power plant to Seoul metropolitan area. Various data for corrosion protection, aging, life-prediction of concrete and steel offshore structures can be obtained using the proposed mock-up test facility. Acquired data will be used for further research on durability, life-prediction, and retrofit of structures. It is important to maintain the safety of 345 kV Yeong-Heung transmission line crossing the Shihwha lake because the offshore structure is one of the critical electric facilities transmitting large power to the metropolitan area. Operation of the offshore transmission tower mock-up is expected to make a significant contribution to stable power supply.

  • Tritium and $^{14}C$ are two most important radionuclides released from nuclear facilities to the environment, and $^{14}C$ contributes dominant radiation dose to the population around nuclear power plants. This paper presents an overview of the production, pathway, species and levels of tritium and $^{14}C$ in nuclear facilities, mainly nuclear power plants. The methods for sampling and collection of different species of tritium and $^{14}C$ in the discharge gas from the stack in the nuclear facilities, atmosphere of the nuclear facilities and environment are presented, and the features of different methods are reviewed. The on-line monitoring methods of gaseous tritium and $^{14}C$ in air and laboratory measurement methods for sensitive determination of tritium and $^{14}C$ in collected samples, water and environmental solid samples are also discussed in detailed. Meanwhile, the challenges in the determination and speciation analysis of tritium and $^{14}C$ are also highlighted.

  • 765kV substation facilities are most important as electric power supply network in the 21 century. So, in order to prevent interruption of electric power supply under earthquake, 765kV substation facilities have to secure the safety against the earthquake. However, even though each substation facility is interconnected mutually, seismic interaction effect doesn't be considered in the initial design. Therefore, seismic capacity evaluation of 765kV substation facilities is carried out considering the seismic interaction effect on a basis of seismic design criteria for Korean transmission and substation facilities.

  • It's a general tendency that electrical facilities of power station become a large size and increase in number because electrical facilities become big and complicated with internal industrial development and economic growth. So, electrical accidents were increased in this electrical facilities of power station. Therefore, in this paper we compared domestic and foreign standard on safety environment of power station. From this, we draw several questions in case of installation on power station and we proposed a draft of relative standard to apply in power station.
