Sexual Activity and Factors Influencing the Sexual Adjustment in Men with Spinal Cord Injury (남성 척수손상 장애인의 성실태 및 성적응에 미치는 요인)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify sexual activities of males with spinal cord injury (SCI) and influential factors of sexual adjustment. Methods: A correlational survey was conducted among a total of 135 males with SCI. Results: After SCI, patients maintained low levels of sexual adjustment, and a main obstacle of sexual rehabilitation was decreased erectile function (65.2%). Sexual desires recovered in 84.4%, with 62.4% patients reporting more than once intercourse experiences. The erectile function of participants with normal, decreased or no erectile function were 13.0%, 62.6% and 24.4%, respectively. 8.1% of the participants reported no problem with ejaculation. Patients with incomplete SCI had better preserved erectile function than those with complete SCI (t=-4.627, p<.001). Patients with upper motor neuron injury had better preserved erectile function than those with lower motor neuron injury (t=2.446, p =.016). Sexual adjustment was relevant to age, job, degree of injury, post-injury period, sexual desire, intercourse experience, erection therapy, erectile function, and sexual health. Sexual adjustment was a factor of sexual health with a power of 24.2%. Conclusion: The main obstacle of sexual rehabilitation for males with SCI decreased erectile function. Erection and ejaculation are dependent on the severity and level of SCI. The major influence on sexual adjustment is sexual health.

The Impacts of Resilience, Social Support on Adjustment to College Life of Freshman and sophomore year in university students. (대학 1·2학년생의 회복탄력성, 사회적 지지가 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of resilience and social support on adjustment to college life of freshman and sophomore year college students. 166 college students from two universities in J city were instructed to answer structured questionnaires, and the data was analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation, and Regression analysis using SPSS 24.0 software. The results show that resilience and social support have statistically significant positive correlation to adjustment to college life. Variables that affect adjustment to college life are college major satisfaction, grades in the preceding semester, drinking, smoking, positivity(a sub-variate of resilience), and material support(a sub-variate of social support) with explanatory power of 39.6%. The results of this study suggest the need to develop programs that consider resilience, social support, and college major satisfaction in order to support freshmen and sophomores with their adjustment to college life.

The Influence of Academic Self-Efficacy, Critical Thinking Disposition and Problem Solving Ability on Nursing Freshmen' College Adjustment in the Distance Education During COVID-19 (코로나19 원격 교육에서 간호대학 신입생의 학업적 자기효능감, 비판적 사고 성향, 문제해결능력이 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was conducted to investigate factors influencing college adjustment on nursing freshmen in the distance education during COVID-19. A final sample 165 nursing freshmen was selected from S city, between 31 August and 4 September 2020. Using SPSS program t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed. Factors that influenced college adjustment age, education at the time of admission, motivation of department choice, scholastic achievement. College adjustment showed a positive correlation with academic self-efficacy, critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability. These factors affecting the college adjustment of the subjects were with an explanatory power of 37.7%. Nursing freshmen need to method of class and student guidance that take these factors into account in the distance education during COVID-19.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of interpersonal relationships and communication skills of nursing students who received blended learning classes on adjustment to college Life. The subjects of this study were 133 first and second year nursing students. The survey was conducted from november 22th to december 3th. 2021. The data was analyzed with the SPSS/WIN 26.0 program. Descriptive statistics and meen differences were analyzed using an t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Multiple regression. The result adjustment to college life of interpersonal relationship, communication competence it was found that there was a significant positive correlation between. The factors of communication competence, interpersonal relationship, Nursing and admissions motivation were impact on the adjustment to college life level of nursing students. The explanatory power of this was 44.3%. In conclusion, a strategy for improving communication skills and smooth interpersonal relationships is needed so that nursing students who have received blended learning can adjustment to college life.

The Influence of Self-efficacy, Satisfaction in Major on College Adjustment Among Mature Nursing Students (간호학과 만학도 학생의 자기효능감, 전공만족도가 대학생활 적응에 미치는 영향)

  • Recently, the number of mature students who apply nursing departments is increasing due to the increase in lifelong learning needs and the high employment rate of nursing jobs. This study aimed to investigate the effect of self-efficacy, satisfaction in major on college adjustment among mature nursing students. Data were collected from October to December, 2021 and a total of 148 mature student participated in this study. The result showed that the self-efficacy was 3.69±0.51, satisfaction in major was 4.07±0.50 and college adjustment was 3.42±0.50. As a result of analyzing factors, grade(β=.20, p=.001), self-efficacy(β=.43, p<.001) and satisfaction in major(β=.37, p<.001) were significant predictors of college adjustment, and the explanatory power was 54%. Mature nursing students are expected to increase in the future, and based on the results of this study, it is suggested that mature nursing students improve their college adjustment by providing intervention programs that can increase self-efficacy and satisfaction in major.

  • In this paper, design and implement 50W Doherty power amplifiers for 3GPP repeater and base station transceiver system. Efficiency improvement and high power property of ideal Doherty power amplifier is distinguishable; however bias control for implementation of Doherty(GDCHD) amplifier is difficult. To solve the problem, therefore, GDCHD(Gate and Drain Control Hybrid Doherty) power amplifier is embodied to drain bias adjustment circuit to Doherty power amplifier with gate bias adjustment circuit. Experiment result shows that $2.11{\sim}2.17\;GHz$, 3GPP operating frequency band, with 57.03 dB gain, PEP output is 50.30 dBm, W-CDMA average power is 47.01 dBm, and -40.45 dBc ACLR characteristic in 5MHz offset frequency band. Each of the parameter satisfied amplifier specification which we want to design. Especially, GDCHD power amplifier shows proper efficiency performance improvement in uniformity ACLR than Doherty power amplifier.

  • In this paper, we handle the estimation method of the received $E_{b}l1_{o}$ for forward closed-loop power control in cdma2000 systems. The estimation of MS-received $E_{b}l1_{o}$ utilizes the symbols related to the forward power control subchannel transmission. The estimation of the received bit energy and noise variance is analyzed for the frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel. In order to improve SIR (signal-to-interference), the estimation of the received bit energy is made by the coherent combining of the rake-fingers and received I/Q symbols. And, in this paper, we evaluate the performance of forward closed-loop power control according to the mobile speed and the power adjustment step size in terms of the bit error rate (BER) and power control error. Simulation results present the optimal power adjustment step sizes according to the mobile speeds.

Effects of Grit in Nursing Students on Self-Directed Learning Ability and Adjustment to College Life (간호대학생의 그릿이 자기주도 학습능력과 대학생활적응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to analyze the effects of grit in nursing students on self-directed learning ability and adjustment to university life. Data was collected from 260 nursing students including first and second-year nursing students in Region C University. The data was analyzed to find relationships among grit, self-directed learning ability, and college life adjustment using frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed the subdomains of grit in which grit in nursing students affected self-directed learning ability were consistency of interest (t=2.423, p<.05) and perseverance of effort (t=3.761, p<.001). The explanation power of the regression model was 40.2%, which was a statistically significant result (F=23.609, p<.001). The subdomains of grit in which grit in nursing students affected adjustment to college life were the consistency of interest (t=3.112, p<.001) and perseverance of effort (t=3.930, p<.001). The explanation power of the regression model was 43.2%, which was a statistically significant result (F=30.608, p<.001). These results show that it is necessary to develop educational programs to enhance individual nursing students' grit, self-directed learning ability, and college-life adjustment.

Error analysis on the Offshore Wind Speed Estimation using HeMOSU-1 Data (HeMOSU-1호 관측 자료를 이용한 해상풍속 산정오차 분석)

  • In this paper, error analyses on the calculation of offshore wind speed have been conducted using HeMOSU-1 data to develop offshore wind energy in Yeonggwang sea of Korea and onshore observed wind data in Buan, Gochang and Yeonggwang for 2011. Offshore wind speed data at 98.69 m height above M.S.L is estimated using relational expression induced by linear regression analysis between onshore and offshore wind data. In addition, estimated offshore wind speed data is set at 87.65 m above M.S.L using power law wind profile model with power law exponent(0.115) and its results are compared with the observed data. As a result, the spatial adjustment error are 1.6~2.2 m/s and the altitude adjustment error is approximately 0.1 m/s. This study shows that the altitude adjustment error is about 5% of the spatial adjustment error. Thus, long term observed data are needed when offshore wind speed was estimated by onshore wind speed data. because the conversion of onshore wind data lead to large error.

Effects of Distribution of Axle Load and Inflation Pressure of Tires on Fuel Efficiency of Tractor Operations (차축의 중량 분포와 타이어의 공기압이 트랙터 작업의 연료 효율에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of axle weight distribution and inflation pressure of tire on the fuel economy of tractors as well as operational range of tractor engine in terms of engine speed and power when a 4WD tractor of 38.2 kW rated power at 2500 rpm is used for plowing and flooded-field rotavating in paddy fields. (1) Plowing operation required an average engine power of 9.6~13.5 kW which equals 25~35% of rated PTO power. Engine speed ranged from 1,320.4 to 1,737.4 rpm, work velocity from 3.4 to 4.8 km/h, and fuel consumption from 3.2 to 4.2 L/h, respectively. (2) Flooded-field rotavating required an average engine power of 11.5~18.5 kW which equals 30~48.4% of rated PTO power. Out of this 6.2~12.2 kW was used for PTO power. Engine speed ranged from 1,557 to 2,067 rpm, work velocity from 2.5~5.4 km/h and fuel consumption from 3.2~5.5 L/h, respectively. (3) Axle weight distribution, inflation pressure of tire and moisture content of soil did not affect significantly the specific volumetric fuel consumption but affected significantly the fuel consumption per unit area of operation. Fuel savings amounted to 65% in plowing operation and 20% in flooded-field rotavating when the axle weight distribution and inflation pressure of tire were optimally adjusted. (4) Optimal adjustment of axle weight distribution and inflation pressure of tire are expected to save fuel consumption by 10~65% per unit area of operation in plowing and 10~20% in flooded-field rotavating.
