복잡(複雜)한 탄층구조(炭層構造)에서의 이논전위곡선(理論電位曲線)의 계산(計算) (Theoretical Potential Calculation of Coal Seam in Various Structures)

  • Due to intense tectonic activities and volcanic movements, coal mines exploration have been conflicted with problems so far. In this paper, computer calculation was specially applied for various model structures of inclined, anticlined and synclined coal beds. Of all these structures, the gradient of equipotential curves showed great as the dip of coal beds increases. Especially at synclined structure, the concaves appeared sharply in both sides of equipotential curves as the dip of coal beds increases. By above results, interpretation of coal exploration can be done by comparing field data one another.

A New Constant Modulus Algorithm based on Maximum Probability Criterion

  • In this paper, as an alternative to constant modulus algorithm based on MSE, maximization of the probability that equalizer output power is equal to the constant modulus of the transmitted symbols is introduced. The proposed algorithm using the gradient ascent method to the maximum probability criterion has superior convergence and steady-state MSE performance, and the error samples of the proposed algorithm exhibit more concentrated density functions in blind equalization environments. Simulation results indicate that the proposed training has a potential advantage versus MSE training for the constant modulus approach to blind equalization.

  • In this paper, we firstly define the Ricci mean value along the gradient vector field of the Ricci potential function and show that it is non-negative on a compact Ricci soliton. Furthermore a Ricci soliton is Einstein if and only if its Ricci mean value is vanishing. Finally, we obtain a compact Ricci soliton $(M^n,g)(n{\geq}3)$ is Einstein if its Weyl curvature tensor and the Kulkarni-Nomizu product of Ricci curvature are orthogonal.

  • Transdermal iontophoresis is a physical enhancement technique to facilitate the delivery of primarily charged molecules across the skin. Principal mechanism of iontophoresis is electrorepulsion experienced by the charged solutes under the application of a potential gradient. In this work, we have investigated several factors (concentration of NADPH, current density) that can affect the iontophoretic flux. We also studied the stability of NADPH in aqueous solution with/without various antioxidants such as butylated hydroxy toluene (BHT). (omitted)

  • In the present paper, we study generalized Ricci solitons on N(κ)-contact metric manifolds, in particular, we consider when the potential vector field is the concircular vector field. We also consider generalized gradient Ricci solitons, and verify our results with an example.

  • The present article contains the study of D-homothetically deformed f-Kenmotsu manifolds. Some fundamental results on the deformed spaces have been deduced. Some basic properties of the Riemannian metric as an inner product on both the original and deformed spaces have been established. Finally, applying the obtained results, soliton functions, Ricci curvatures and scalar curvatures of almost Riemann solitons with several kinds of potential vector fields on the deformed spaces have been characterized.

  • This paper proposes a real-time navigation algorithm which integrates the artificial potential field (APF) for an unmanned vehicle in the unknown environment. This approach uses repulsive potential function around the obstacles to force the vehicle away and an attractive potential function around the goal to attract the vehicle. In this research, laser range finder is used as range sensor. An obstacle detected by the sensor creates repulsive vector. Differential global positioning system (DGPS) and digital compass are used to measure the current vehicle position and orientation. The measured vehicle position is also used to create attractive vector. This paper proposes a new concept of potential field based navigation which controls unmanned vehicle's speed and steering. The magnitude of repulsive force based on the proposed algorithm is designed not to be over the magnitude of attractive force while the magnitude is increased linearly as being closer to obstacle. Consequently, the vehicle experiences a generalized force toward the negative gradient of the total potential. This force drives the vehicle downhill towards its goal configuration until the vehicle reaches minimum potential and it stops. The effectiveness of the proposed APF for unmanned vehicle is verified through simulation and experiment.

턴널링 전류효과를 이용한 마이크로가속도 센서의 축전기부 해석 (Analysis in Capacitor of Microaccelerometer Sensor Using Tunnelling Current Effect)

  • The microaccelerometer using a tunnelling current effect concept has the potential of high performance, although it requires slightly complex signal-processing circuit for servo-system. The paddle of micro accelerometer is pulled to have the gap width of about 2nm which almost allows the flow tunnelling current. This paper demonstrates at capacitor of microaccelerometer the use of the coupled thermo-electric analysis for voltage, current, heat flux and Joule heating then tunnelling current flows. Two electrodes are applied to the microaccelerometer producing a unform difference of temperature gradient and electric potential between the paddle and the substrate.

  • A serious of EK remediation tests on contaminated soil are performed under unsaturated conditions and analyzed for electrical potential, water content, pH and so on. The results indicated that electrical potential and pH distributions in the sample are dependent on the amount and inward/outward flow of hydrogen ion. Specially, for the closed system the water content is largely decreased with the flow of hydrogen. The maximum electrical conductivity is measured at the catholyte of CEM(Sealing) test and directly related to the remedial efficiency. Although pHs in the region near to the anode are similarly developed, the different concentration of lead is measured with the electrical gradient contrary to the lead concentration dependent on pH within the sample.

Suitable Use of Capillary Number for Analysis of NAPL Removal from Porous Media

  • The capillary number is used to represent the mobilization potential of organic phase trapped within porous media. The capillary number has been defined by three different forms, according to types of flow velocity and viscosity used in the definition of capillary number. This study evaluated the suitability of the capillary number definitions for representing TCE mobilization by constructing capillary number-TCE saturation relationships. The results implied that the capillary number should be correctly employed, according to interest of scale and fluid flow behavior. This study suggests that the pore-scale capillary number may be used only for investigating the organic-phase mobilization at the pore scale because it is defined by the pore-velocity and the dynamic viscosity. The Newtonian-fluid capillary number using Darcy velocity and the dynamic viscosity may be suitable to quantify flood systems representing Newtonian fluid behavior. For viscous-force modified flood systems such as surfactant-foam floods, the apparent capillary number definition employing macroscopic properties (permeability and potential gradient) may be used to appropriately represent the desaturation of organic-phases from porous media.
