  • Closed-loop model-free optimization of positive feedback time delay controllers for dominant time delay systems is presented. Iterative feedback tuning (IFT) is applied to the tuning of positive feedback time delay controller. Three experiments are carried out to perform the model-free gradient descent optimization. The initial controller parameters and duration in specifying the cost function are suggested. The effects of step size, filter function and time weighting function on the performance of the optimized controlled are given. Simulation and experimental studies are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the tuning scheme.

  • In this paper, we considered the following four-point boundary value problem $\{{x"(t)+h(t)f(t,x(t),x'(t))=0,\;0<t<1\atop%20x'(0)=ax(\xi),\;x'(1)=bx(\eta)}\$. where $0\;<\;{\xi}\;<\;{\eta}\;<\;1,\;{\delta}\;=\;ab{\xi}\;-\;ab{\eta}\;+\;a\;-\;b\;<\;0,\;0\;<\;a\;<\;\frac{1}{\xi},\;0\;<\;b\;<\;\frac{1}{\eta}$. After the discussion of the Green function of the corresponding homogeneous system, we establish some criteria for the existence of positive solutions by using the generalized Leggett-William's fixed point theorem. The interesting point is the expression of the Green function, which is a difficulty for multi-point BVP.

  • This paper is concerned with the existence of positive solutions of the nonlinear Neumann boundary value problems $$\{u^{{\prime}{\prime}}+a(t)u={\lambda}b(t)f(u),\;t{\in}(0,1),\\u^{\prime}(0)=u^{\prime}(1)=0$$, where $a,b{\in}C[0,1]$ with $a(t)>0,\;b(t){\geq}0$ and the Green's function of the linear problem $$\{u^{{\prime}{\prime}}+a(t)u=0,\;t{\in}(0,1),\\u^{\prime}(0)=u^{\prime}(1)=0$$ may change its sign on $[0,1]{\times}[0,1]$. Our analysis relies on the Leray-Schauder fixed point theorem.

  • We consider a zeta function of the classical dynamics in the exterior of several convex bodies. The main result is that the poles of the zeta function cannot converge to the line of absolute convergence if the abscissa of absolute convergence of the zeta function is positive.

  • In this paper we extend the definition of K-positive definite operators from linear to Frechet differentiable operators. Under this setting, we derive from the inverse function theorem a local existence and approximation results corresponding to those of Theorems land 2 of the authors [8], in an arbitrary real Banach space. Furthermore, an asymptotically K-positive definite operator is introduced and a simplified iteration sequence which converges to the unique solution of an asymptotically K-positive definite operator equation is constructed.

  • Each municipality is promoting signboard improvement projects, but the effectiveness is not great. The main reason for this is that when the signboard is manufactured the location of the shop is only dependent on the visual aspiration effect and it is not harmonized with the building by applying uniform design. The signboard are installed almost everywhere in the city, such as residential, natural and commercial environments. And the signboard provides various services such as traffic information and life safety to customers. Also, by applying design and functional elements, we can enhance the competitiveness of companies and improve the urban environment by enhancing the mutual connection effect of customers and space. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of design elements and functional elements of the signboard on customer preference. In other words, we conducted surveys and analyzes of 152 specialists and non-experts (customers, self-employed). As a result of the study, the following conclusions were drawn. First, the functions and design elements of signboards are important factors that have a positive effect on customer preference. Second, the function of the signboard has a positive(+) influence on the customer preference, and the information providing function and the corporate image side function directly affect the customer preference. Third, color elements have a positive(+) meaningful effect on customer preference. Especially, similar color sign affects customer preference positively. Fourth, the signboard design component has a positive(+) significant effect on customer preference. In particular, typefaces have a positive effect on customer preference.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of posture difference on respiratory function in cerebral palsy patients. Methods : Twenty-two cerebral palsy childrens were recruited this study. Respiratory Function test was measured with Cardio Touch 3000 and Micro Respiratory Pressure Meter. Cardio Touch 3000 was used to assess cerebral palsy childrens' forced vital capacity and forced expiratory volume at one second. Micro Respiratory Pressure Meter was to assess Maximum inspiratory pressure and Maximum expiratory pressure. Subjects had four respiratory functions measured in supine, slouched sitting, and elected sitting postures. Statistical analysis was used Paired t-test for within-group comparisons and Independent t-test for between-group comparisons. SPSS statistics Ver 20.0 was used for statistical anlysis and statistical significance was defined as a p-value less than 0.05. Result : The subjects' respiratory function according to posture showed significant difference in Forced Vital Capacity(FVC), Maximum Expiratory Pressure(MEP) and Maximum inspiratory pressure(MIP)(p<.05). Elected sitting posture had a positive effect on respiratory function than slouched sitting, supine. Conclusion : In conclusion, We could see that change of posture in children with cerebral palsy affects respiratory function and Elected sitting can be a positive help for the respiratory function of children with cerebral palsy.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between frailty, nutritional status, positive thinking, family function, and health conservation and to identify the factors influencing health conservation of the elderly at home. Methods: The research design was a descriptive survey using a convenience sampling. Data were collected from 142 elders using self-reported questionnaires. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program for descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression. Results: The average health conservation score was 98.85. There were significant correlations between frailty, nutritional status, positive thinking, family function and health conservation. As a result of the multiple linear regression analysis, positive thinking, perceived health status, spouse and frailty accounted for 69% of the variance in health conservation of the elderly at home. Conclusion: These influencing factors on health conservation can be taken into account in the development of nursing intervention programs for improving health conservation of the elderly at home.

  • In this paper, we investigate the stability of positive weak solution for the singular p-Laplacian nonlinear system $-div[{\mid}x{\mid}^{-ap}{\mid}{\nabla}u{\mid}^{p-2}{\nabla}u]+m(x){\mid}u{\mid}^{p-2}u={\lambda}{\mid}x{\mid}^{-(a+1)p+c}b(x)f(u)$ in ${\Omega}$, Bu = 0 on ${\partial}{\Omega}$, where ${\Omega}{\subset}R^n$ is a bounded domain with smooth boundary $Bu={\delta}h(x)u+(1-{\delta})\frac{{\partial}u}{{\partial}n}$ where ${\delta}{\in}[0,1]$, $h:{\partial}{\Omega}{\rightarrow}R^+$ with h = 1 when ${\delta}=1$, $0{\in}{\Omega}$, 1 < p < n, 0 ${\leq}$ a < ${\frac{n-p}{p}}$, m(x) is a weight function, the continuous function $b(x):{\Omega}{\rightarrow}R$ satisfies either b(x) > 0 or b(x) < 0 for all $x{\in}{\Omega}$, ${\lambda}$ is a positive parameter and $f:[0,{\infty}){\rightarrow}R$ is a continuous function. We provide a simple proof to establish that every positive solution is unstable under certain conditions.

  • This paper describes the effect of a robot cognitive rehabilitation program on cognitive functions for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment, and compares it with traditional cognitive therapy programs. Three experiment groups including cognition therapy group, robot cognitive rehabilitation group, and hybrid group have been sampled and one comparative group has been organized for this research. 32 old people whose ages are between 61 and 88 with mild cognitive impairment participated in the programs with an admission of W care hospital. According to the program results, the cognitive therapy program alone had shown a positive effect on the attention function, and the robot cognitive rehabilitation program alone had a positive effect on the total intelligence and memory function. However, a simultaneous operation with both programs had shown a positive effect on the three intelligence areas such as total, basic, and management quotients as well as attention and memory functions as subsidiary factors. This paper has verified that the proposed robot cognitive rehabilitation program makes a positive effect on a cognitive function and plays a complementary role with traditional cognitive therapy programs.
