  • This work concerns age studies of the spanish mackerel by vertebrae. The spanish mackerel samples were obtained mainly from Yosoo and Inchon regions during July to December, 1969. A total of 292 fish was collected during the present study. Except the vertebrae, the incremental growth is found to be vague or complicated on the most bony parts in spanish mackerel. The spanish mackerel has 50 vertebrae, and the size of vertebra varies according to its position. After several studies, therefore, sample centrum was selected from the 23rd vertebra throughout the present study. Sample centrum was then stained with Alizarin Red S. and examined under binocular stereoscopic microscope illuminated by reflected light. The surface of the centrum shows many ring-marks running parallel to the edge. The ring-marks were counted and the measurements of centrum radius (R) and radii of the ring-marks (r$\_$i/) were made by eyepiece micrometer. From available data, the average of each ring-mark radius was found to be; r$\_$1/=2.05mm, r$\_$2/=3.11mm, r$\_$3/=4.05mm, r$\_$4/=4.89mm, r$\_$5/=5.70mm and r$\_$6/=6.47mm, respectively. The mean fork length at the time of ring-mark formation was calculated to be; l$\_$1/=297.6mm, l$\_$2/= 390.1mm, l$\_$3/=472.2mm, l$\_$4/=545.5mm, l$\_$5/=616.2mm, and l$\_$6/= 683.4mm, respectively.

  • The objective of this research was to introduce the TPI approach for interpreting land-forms of mountain forests in South Korea. We develop an objective procedure to decide the scale factor as a basic analytical unit in land-form classification of rugged mountain areas using TPI. In order to determine the scale factor associated with the pattern of slope profiles, the gradient variance curve was derived from a revised hypsometric curve developed using the relief energy of topographic profiles. Using the gradient variance curve, found was the grid size with which the change in relief energy got the peak point. The grid size at the peak point was determined as the scale factor for the study area. In order to investigate the performance of the procedure based on the gradient variance curve, it was applied to determination of the site-specific scale factors of 3 different terrain conditions; highly-rugged, moderately-rugged and relatively less-rugged. The TPI associated with the corresponding scale factors by study site was, then, determined and used in classifying the land-forms. According to the results of this study, the scale factor gets shorter with more rugged terrain conditions. It was also found that the numbers of valleys and ridges estimated with TPI show almost the same trends as those of the observed and the scale factors tends to approach to the mean distance of ridges.

  • RFID technology uses communication through the use of radio waves to transfer data between a reader and an electronic tag attached to an object for the purpose of identification and tracking. RFID technology can be applied to the various service areas such as, position determination technology, remote processing management and information exchange between objects by collecting, storing, processing, and tracing their informations from the tag attached to the objects using electronic wave by recognizing the information and environment of those objects. However, to revitalize these various services, it is important to test the RFID tag performance. But There are few instructions which have and hold the RFID emulator technology for organizing the RFID international test environment. Also there are not many manufacturing companies which recognize about the exact RFID test standard and requirements for the International Standards. In this paper, a construction of Tag Performance test environments and test methods are suggested which are required by EPCglobal or ISO/IEC. Details about RFID Tag performance test items proposed by ISO/IEC FDIS 18046-3 are explained, performed RFID Tag performance test through the performing test against each measured item, and draw a result for the RFID Tag performance of International Standards.

  • Under the new system of 'Separation of pharmaceutical prescription and dispensing' in Korea, which was implemented in 2000, physician could not dispense a medicine, and outpatient should have a physician's prescription filled at a drugstore. After pharmacist makes up outpatient's prescription, National Health Insurance Service(NHIS) pay for outpatient's medicine to pharmacist, except an outpatient's own medicine charge. And NHIS only pay for outpatient's prescription fee to physician and, physician doesn't derive profit from dispensing medicine in itself. Nevertheless, if physician writes out a prescription with violation of 'Criteria for the Medical Care Benefits', NHIS clawed back the payment of outpatient's prescription and medicine from the physician or the medical institution which the physician belongs to. In the past, NHIS's confiscation was in accordance with 'the National Health Care Insurance Act, Article 52, Clause 1'. But, since 2006 when the Supreme Court declared that there was no legal basis on the NHIS's confiscation of outpatient's medicine payment, NHIS had put in a claim for illegal prescriptions on the basis 'the Korean Civil law, Article 750(tort)'. So, Many medical institutions filed civil actions against NHIS. The key point of this actions was whether the issuing outpatient prescriptions with violations of Criteria for the Medical Care Benefits constitute of the law of tort. On this point, the first trial and the second trial took different position. Finally the Supreme Court acknowledged the constitution of the law of tort in 2013. In this paper, the author will review critically the decision of the Supreme Court, and consider the relativeness between the legal effect of Criteria for the Medical Care Benefits and the constitution of the issuing outpatient prescriptions with violations of Criteria for the Medical Care Benefits as the law of tort.

  • The aim of this study was to obtain the traceability of the software used to analyze lateral cephalometry and to calculate the uncertainty of the measurements. Furthermore, this study aimed to provide a basis for obtaining standard references for measurement values for orthodontic treatment in children. Cephalometric data were collected from 100 children diagnosed with class I malocclusion between the ages 6 to 13 years who visited the pediatric dentist at Seoul National University Dental Hospital. To ensure traceability, a phantom device was created. Correction values were calculated by measuring the length and angle of the phantom device using the software. Type A uncertainty was calculated by obtaining the standard deviation of cephalometric measurements of 100 persons and the standard error of repeated measurements. Determination of the type B uncertainty was induced by minimum resolution and the position of the head. Using these, the combined standard uncertainty was obtained and the expanded uncertainty was calculated. The results of this study confirm that the currently used software has high accuracy and reliability. Furthermore, the uncertainty of orthodontic measurements in Korean children aged 6 to 13 years was calculated, and distribution range for class I malocclusion with 95% confidence interval was suggested.

  • The determination of the solar and thermal performance of fenestration is required for the evaluation of fenestration energy performance, estimating building load. Presently, there exist several methods for determining the thermal transmission(U-value) and solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) of fenestration system. These method are commonly grouped under calculation or experimental methods. While U-value testing and calculation methods have been long established, SHGC has been evaluated only by the method of calculation under the lack of any established testing method. However, it is difficult to assess the exact SHGC for various types of fenestration with sun-shading or other solar control systems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of interior venetian blind and roll screen on the SHGC of glazing system. SHGC has been evaluated by the KS L 9107 test method and exiting calculation method for precise comparison of the energy performances of various shading devices. In this research, the test sample consists of three different types of double glazing unit with venetian blind and roll screen. Slat angles of venetian blind were changed to $-45^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$, and$-45^{\circ}$. For the roll screen, measurements were taken with the roll screen in the closed position. In result, the venetian blind reduced SHGC by 21.2~28.4% at $45^{\circ}$, when compared to the double glazing unit. The roll screen reduced SHGC by 34.4~41.7% at closed. The differences between the measured and calculated SHGC were found to range between 0.001(0.2%) and 0.047(11.1%) for all test cases. For the cases of venetian blind $-45^{\circ}$, $0^{\circ}$ and $45^{\circ}$, the deviation ratio were 3.6~9.8%, 1.1~2.6%, 4.2~11.1%, respectively. For the case of roll screen, the deviation ratio were 4.1~5.7%.

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to determine accurately the part of the tragus to be used to form the Ala-Tragal line or Camper's line in orthognathic profile patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 150 dentate subjects with age of 18-40 years with orthognathic profile were sampled. Life-size lateral digital photographs of the face with fox plane were taken in natural head position. Different angles between Eye-Ear plane and occlusal plane ($OT_1$-OP), Eye-Ear plane and ala-superior border of tragus ($OT_1-AT_1$), Eye-Ear plane and ala-middle border of tragus ($OT_1-AT_2$) and Eye-Ear plane and ala-inferior border of tragus ($OT_1-AT_3$) were calculated using computer software package, AutoCAD 2004. From the three angles formed by the Eye-ear plane ($OT_1$ or FH plane) and the ala-tragal lines, the one closest to the angle formed between Eye-Ear plane ($OT_1$) and occlusal plane (OP) was used to determine the occlusal plane of orientation. The obtained results were subjected to ANOVA F test, Tukey's Honestly significant difference test, followed by Karl Pearson coefficient of correlation test. P values of less than 0.05 were taken as statistically significant. RESULTS. The mean of base line angle i.e. $OT_1$-OP angle ($11.96{\pm}4.36$) was found to be close to $OT_1-AT_2$ angle ($13.67{\pm}1.93$) and $OT_1-AT_3$ angle ($10.31{\pm}2.03$), but $OT_1$-OP angle was found to be more closer to $OT_1-AT_3$ angle. Comparison of mean angles showed that $OT_1$-OP angle in both males (11.68) and females (12.51) is close to $OT_1-AT_3$ angle (males- 11.01, females- 11.95). CONCLUSION. The line joining from ala to the lower border of the tragus was parallel to the occlusal plane in 53.3% of the subjects. There was no influence of the sex on the level of occlusal plane.

  • The goal of suction denture is to enhance retention of dentures by the formation of negative pressure between the denture base and the underlying tissue and sealing around the denture by the mucosa. This patient has been converted to a completely edentulous state after the extraction of residual teeth. Fabrication of suction denture was planned because it was estimated that the conventional compete would be hard to achieve retention due to the absorption of residual ridge and lack of sublingual fold. Through appropriate clinical and laboratory technique such as preliminary impression on the mandibular rest position, provisional vertical dimension determination with Centric Tray® (Ivoclar Vivadent AG, Schaan, Liechtenstein), closed mouth definitive impression and jaw relation record using individual tray with Gnathometer M® (Ivoclar Vivadent AG, Schaan, Liechtenstein), artificial teeth arrangement considering stability of the denture, and proper polymerization technique that minimizes polymerization shrinkage, restoring the patient with suction denture resulted in satisfaction throughout the function and asesthetics.

  • Satellite systems for objects positioning appeared indispensable for performing basic tasks of maritime navigation. Navigation, understood as safe and effective conducting a vehicle from one point to another, within a specific physical-geographical environment. [Kopacz, $Urba{\acute{n}}ski$, 1998]. However, the systems have not solved the problem of accessibility to reliable and highly accurate information about a position of an object, especially if surveyed toward on-shore navigational signs or in sea depth. And it's of considerable significance for many navigational tasks, carried out within the frameworks of special works performance and submarine navigation. In addition, positioning precisely the objects other than vessels, while executing hydrographical works, is not always possible with a use of any satellite system. Difficulties with GPS application show up also while positioning such off-lying dangers as wrecks, underwater and aquatic rocks also other naturaland artificial obstacles. It is caused by impossibility of surveyors approaching directly any such object while its positioning. Moreover, determination of vessels positions mutually (mutual geometrical relations) by teams carrying out one common tasks at sea, demands applying the navigational techniques other than the satellite ones. Vessels'staying precisely on specified positions is of special importance in, among the others, the cases as follows: - surveying vessels while carrying out bathymetric works, wire dragging; - special tasks watercraft in course of carrying out scientific research, sea bottom exploration etc. The problems are essential for maritime economy and the Country defence readiness. Resolving them requires applying not only the satellite navigation methods, but also the terrestrial ones. The condition for implementation of the geo-navigation methods is at present the methods development both: in aspects of their techniques and technologies as well as survey data evaluation. Now, the classical geo-navigation comprises procedures, which meet out-of-date accuracy standards. To enable meeting the present-day requirements, the methods should refer to well-recognised and still developed methods of contemporary geodesy. Moreover, in a time of computerization and automation of calculating, it is feasible to create also such software, which could be applied in the integrated navigational systems, allowing carrying out navigation, provided with combinatory systems as well as with the new positioning methods. Whereas, as regards data evaluation, there should be applied the most advanced achievements in that subject; first of all the newest, although theoretically well-recognised estimation methods, including estimation [Hampel et al. 1986; $Wi{\acute{s}}niewski$ 2005; Yang 1997; Yang et al. 1999]. Such approach to the problem consisting in positioning a vehicle in motion and solid objects under observation enables an opportunity of creating dynamic and interactive navigational structures. The main subject of the theoretical suggested in this paper is the Interactive Navigational Structure. In this paper, the Structure will stand for the existing navigational signs systems, any observed solid objects and also vehicles, carrying out navigation (submarines inclusive), which, owing to mutual dependencies, (geometrical and physical) allow to determine coordinates of this new Structure's elements and to correct the already known coordinates of other elements.
