This study aims at improving Korea's competitiveness in port logistics through marketing strategy with integrating the conceptual approach into the empirical one and combining both the oldest military treatise and the newest evaluating model in social science that was applied by the HFP(hierarchical fuzzy process) model enhanced by the KJ method. The empirical results of this study show Busan in the middle among subject ports. At present, Korea plays a reciprocal role in the port market in East Asia, but in the medium- and long-term, Korea's ports will vie together with most major ports in the East Asian region. A descriptive investigation shows that Korea's developing tasks in port logistics must be considered in the context of the direction for developing port policies, the necessity of expanding port facilities in the capital region, securing the sufficient traffic volume through the establishment of the hinterland linking system and its positive utilization, and reforming the direction for developing the global logistics through increased port competitiveness. In the short- and medium-term, Korea must use the opportunity factor of 'Growth and open door policy of China' as a geoeconomic advantage and to utilize Korea's ports as a gate to Chinese foreign trade. With the rise of China's economy, China also plays a significant role in both port and airport markets. Hence, the linking system between the two must be established to meet the expanding traffic volume, especially in the capital area. Moreover, it is necessary for Korea to secure port logistics through the establishment of the hinterland linking system and its positive utilization. The great accomplishment of this paper is to present strategies to increase Korea's port competitiveness in the rapidly changing environments of world logistics with the focus on both the oldest military strategic treatise and the newest empirical method in social science. In order to reinforce this study, it needs further compensative research because the evaluation structure could be subdivided with more extensive and precise criteria.

In order to solve the current problems and inefficiencies within the Port Authorities(PA) in Korea, this study introduces the concept of the integration of PA and analyses the intention of integration. This study is based on analysing the surveys participated by the members of PA. The surveys consist of six main factors which could influence the intention of integration of PA; contribution, autonomy, strategic factor, financial factor, marketing factor and environmental factor. The two main implications from this study can be categorised as follows. First, this study identifies the structural problems such as regional self-centredness of PA, obscurity of organisations' roles and their rights, limitations on diversification of business and restrictions within PA. Second, this study extensively discusses the option of improving the inefficiency whilst maintaining the current system or to switch to the integration of PA. In addition, it has been found that individual PA recognise the little need for integration. Since the results show that the strategic, financial, marketing and environmental factors would cause both significant and little significant impacts, it would be too haste to decide on a conclusion. However, it is possible to say that the rapid integration of PA can neither improve the efficiency nor improve the characteristics of each region. Therefore, the significance of integration of PA must be further discussed from many different perspectives. The results of this research will serve as a basic literature for further studies on the integration of PA in Korea. Moreover, the problems that have been identified and analysed in this study will contribute to establishing the strategy for further development of PA in Korea.

The purpose of this paper is to conduct a comparative analysis of container terminal operation in Busan and Kwangyang port. The research method used for this study is DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis} and among DEA methods CCR and BCC model has been used. According to the results of CCR model Gamman in 2004 and Gamcheon in 2004 are found to be the most efficient terminals in the sample and the inefficient terminals include Gwangyang Phase 2 terminal. Based on BCC model Gamcheon and Uam are identified as the most efficient terminals in three consecutive years including Gamman terminal in 2004. The inefficient terminals include New Gamman in 2002 and Hutchison in 2002. The research findings show that inefficient terminals need to fully utilise their terminal facilities and increase container throughput through effective marketing activities.

Major advanced ports around the world are preparing for environmental regulations such as increased efficiency of ports and low emission of pollutants in ports by utilizing fourth industrial technologies and ICT technologies such as AI, big data, self-driving cars and connected cars. It is also investing in developing fully unmanned terminals to solve the problem of workforce reduction caused by avoidance of 3D industries. However, the introduction of advanced technology is being delayed in domestic ports, which has led to a drop in port efficiency. In addition, port safety accidents have also occurred frequently, seriously affecting port marketing. Thus, the characteristics and types of each container terminal in Korea were analyzed and the factors for introducing autonomous cooperative driving were classified into five section factors and 15 division factors. Hierarchically classified factors will be surveyed on workers working in shipping lines, port construction, container terminals and related ministries.

Under the influence of ever-globalized world economy, Yangsan Port of Shanghai, a central hub of Chinese economy, was opened up on Dec. 1, 2005 in the expectation of heart of northeast Asian harbor logistics. It has triggered severer competitions among northeast Asian ports. In an effort to keep robust standing as a central port of northeast Asia, Korea has still built additional new ports and opened up 3 docks in Nov. 2005. Amid these changing port environments, it is foremost to take the competitive edges of new ports in advance of major rival ports in the interest of preoccupying the standing of those new ports as the central hub of northeast logistics. According to the developmental strategies of new ports can be summed up as follows: First, it is required to separate port development from marketing as a part of separating developmental entity from management/maintenance entity. Second, it is required to develop dedicated port for feeder vessels along with new ports to save more time and cost spent by shipping companies. Third, the attraction of jumbo shipping companies to port development needs differentiated countermeasures for each shipping company, and those measures should be taken in advance before jumbo shippers decide their own shipping strategies in future. Fourth, in terms of incentives for attracting jumbo shipping companies, it is required to offer the incentives to them in using new ports in connection with Busan ports. Fifth, it is critical to set up a benchmark of competitors(ports) for establishing one-stop automatic administration process system upon developing ports. Finally, it is required to prepare a plan for using rearward lands in connection with ports for more efficient use of development complex behind port.

Terminal market has rapidly crashed and market rates have taken a sharp plunge. The substantial throughput decrease resulted from the world economic downturn has been a finishing blow to the terminal operators in Busan. Every terminal operator is taking cost saving as its first priority and accelerating structural reform and downsizing. Under the desperate situation, the need of effective cost analysis would be highly required to effectively control operation cost and to develop new services to satisfy the different needs of the customers. Furthermore, terminal operators could reduce unnecessary activities and concentrate their resource on the more cost-effective process through the operation cost analysis. In order to suggest a new framework of the cost control of container terminals, this paper seeks to analyze terminal costs based on ABC approach by processing actual data.

In the 21st century, maritime industry is the field, which play an important role in the improvement of human. Due to geographical conditions and the development of technology, the demanding of human can be solved easier by shipping. With the advantage of the location and the help of modern technology, maritime in dustry bring various advantage for HaiPhong. In this field in general or the job such as assistant, marketing and the contribution of women is undeniable. Meanwhile, with the field of shipping, there are some problems, which are preventing women from the work of seafaring. However, in the current, female employees are necessary in all the work, the thinking of the job for only male still exit in the brain of citizen. Therefore, the solutions for this problem need to set not only in maritime industry but also for the others heavy industry.

본 논문은 인천항과 청도항, 천진항, 대련항을 대상으로 항만별 서비스품질 구성요인들 각각이 고객만족에 미치는 영향정도가 어떻게 다른지와 항만별 서비스품질 차원 및 만족도에 대한 고객의 지각 수준을 비교하였다. 연구결과 항만서비스의 품질차원은 '내적품질', '외적환경품질', '상호작용품질'로 구분됨을 확인하였고, 이들 항만서비스 품질 3차원은 대련항의 '외적환경품질'을 제외하곤 모두 고객만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 항만간 서비스품질 차원에 대한 고객의 지각 수준을 그룹비교를 통해 살펴 본 결과 인천항은 '내적품질'에서 청도항, 천진항, 대련항에 비해 낮게 평가되었으며, '외적환경품질'의 경우도 청도항, 천진항에 비해 낮았지만, '상호작용품질'은 천진항과 대련항에 비해 높게 평가되었다. 그러나 항만에 대한 고객의 만족은 인천항이 청도항, 천진항, 대련항에 비해 부족한 것으로 나타났다.
