  • This paper aims to propose a design for simulation systems for container terminal operation evaluation. The systems cover both terminal design simulation for medium and long tern decision making and terminal operations simulation for day to day decision making. And both systems include the container terminal operation components, quay, yard and gate operations. For the flexible and efficient application of the systems, we designed the systems with three modules such as "Define Module"."Simulation Module" and "Animation Module". • In this paper the sway-control problem of a container crane is investigated. The control loop is divided into two stages. The first stage is a modified time optimal control for trolley traversing. The velocity command for trolley traversing consists of three components ; a reference velocity and two feedback signals for compensating the deviations of trolley and sway angle from their desired trajectories. For trolley's exact positioning the trolley dynamics is identified via an error equation identifier structure. The second stage is a nonlinear residual sway control that starts at the end of first stage. The control design for the second stage is investigated from the perspective of controling an underactuated system, and the control law combines the feedback linearization and variable structure control.

  • The flow characteristics of an intermittent fuel injection into a stationary ambient air were investigated using gasoline. The measurements were made by two-channel, air cooling type Phase Doppler Anemometer(PDA) system (DANTEC, 750 MW). And a pintle type injector of MPI (Multi-point Port Injection) system was utilized as a fuel injector. The PDA receiver optic was set up in a 60.deg. C forward scatter arrangement to obtain the optimum scattering signal of fuel droplets. The data were obtained by synchronizing PDA system with the fuel injection period, and the axial and radial velocity and turbulent components of fuel droplets were mainly measured for the analysis of temporal and spatial distribution depending upon the fuel injection pressures.

  • The authors aim to establish the theory necessary for developing the free gyrocompass. The following considerations are taken. One is to suggest north-finding principle by the angular velocity of the earth's rotation, and the other is to suggest that the motion rate of the spin axis in the free gyro frame is transformed into the platform fame and this transformed rate is again transformed into the NED navigation frame. After transformation ship's heading is obtained using the fore-aft and athwartship components of the motion rate of the spin axis in the NED frame In addition it was suggested how to solve the transformation matrix necessary for transforming each frame.

  • In order to use a GPS antenna for launch vehicles, it should be installed on the skin of the vehicle and be able to normally receive the live GPS signals during the vehicle's full flight mission. The GPS antenna on the surface of the launch vehicle is, however, exposed to higher temperature than inner equipments of the vehicle due to aerodynamic heating generated during the flight. Test specification of the GPS antenna for qualification of hot-temperature is determined to $+95^{\circ}C$ that is higher than inner components by $25^{\circ}C$. Test results in this paper show that the GPS antenna normally operates under the above environment.

  • The authors aim to establish the theory necessary for developing free gyro positioning system and focus on measuring the nadir angle by using the motion rate of a free gyro. The azimuth of a gyro vector from the North can be given by using the property of the free gyro. The motion rate of the spin axis in the gyro frame is transformed into the platform frame and again into the NED (north-east-down) navigation frame. The nadir angle of a gyro vector is obtained by using the North components of the motion rate of the spin axis in the NED frame. The component has to be transformed into the horizontal component of the gyro by using the azimuth of the gyro vector and then has to be integrated over the sampling interval.

  • A predictive controller can solve a control problem related to a disturbance-dominant system such as roll stabilization of a ship in waves. In this paper, a predictive controller is developed for a fin stabilizer. Future wave-induced moment is modeled simply using two typical regular wave components for which six parameters are identified by the recursive Fourier transform and the least squares method using the past time series of the roll motion. After predicting the future wave-induced moment, optimal control theory is applied to discover the most effective command fin angle that will stabilize the roll motion. In the results, wave prediction performance is investigated, and the effectiveness of the predictive controller is compared to a conventional PD controller.

  • This paper describes about the realization of a remote RF sensor system and its applications. RF Sensor System was designed and realized on DSP over the range of high frequency such as about 200[KHz]. It should be "wireless", "implantable" and "batteryless". Futhermore, the system should be consist of passive components such as R, Land C. The measurement was given using the inductive coupling principle between primary source part and secondary sensor part. This newly developed parameter estimation system can be easily applied to the Ambient Intelligent System including the ubiquitous computing and the sensitive environmental changes.

  • Maritime Big Data Linkage System is a system for linking maritime related internal and external data used in Korean e-Navigation. It is possible to create data acquisition, conversion, storage, analysis, management application service by technology of maritime data generated from inside and outside, and it can be configured and processed in units of components. It is also possible to monitor the flow of data defined by the workflow.. Through this study, it is expected that e-navigation service will be able to link data more efficiently and easily.

  • Herein we investigate the mass transport velocity caused by the viscosity near the ocean structure such as circular pile and inclined breakwaters. The mass transport velocity which is represented by the sum of the Eulerian velocity and the stokes drift were derived by Carter, Liu and Mei(1973). The tangential components of the inviscid velocity field at the bottom needed in the calculation of the mass transport velocity is obtained by solving the scattering problem due to breakwaters. The matched asymptotic expansion technique is employed to obtain the inviscid flow fields scattered by inclined breakwaters. The numerical results show that heary sediments tends to be deposited near the center of breakwaters and that the narrowing of the entrance width results in reduction of the magnitude of mass transport.
