  • Background: In times of continuous change and volatile markets, organizations are increasingly characterized by downsizing, work intensification, and resource rationalization. This has resulted in diversification, and the emergence of newrisks within the field of occupational health and safety, with an important impact. This paper focuses on one such type of risk in the modern workplace-psychosocial risks. The current study aimed to explore stakeholder perspectives, regarding the extent to which psychosocial risks are incorporated into strategic risk management practices, at both the business and policy level. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 14 professionals, representing employer, expert, policy maker, and trade union stakeholder perspectives. Results: It was found that the majority of organizations do not sufficiently, if at all, understand and incorporate psychosocial risks into strategic decision making, whereby the key barrier related to practical difficulties of not knowing how to manage psychosocial risks adequately. Conclusion: The study found that there is a need to close the gap between policy and practice on a number of levels. Future recommendations comprise a policy framework and infrastructure underpinned by educational initiatives, partnerships, and networks to drive a shift in attitudes toward recognizing the duality of the concept of risk (including both potential negative and positive outcomes) and moving beyond simple regulatory compliance.

  • This paper deals with performance measures for recoverable item control where the demand process is time-dependent. The performance measure is essential for modelling a multi-echelon inventory problem for repairable items. Most repairable items are expensive and have a great influence on the performance of equipments. Thus the information on these items is very useful to the decision maker. The purpose of this paper is to derive the system performance measure and the part(component) performance measure considering a cannibalization policy under the dynamic environment.

  • Causal maps or cognitive maps have been widely used to get insights for complex systems or decision makers. When insights come from the system behavior rather than its structure, we need simulation of causal maps and cognitive maps. In this paper, a method for directly converting causal maps and cognitive maps into stock-flow diagrams that can be simulated in computers in proposed. This method is called as NUMBER. NUMBER is an abbreviation for 'Normal Unit Modeling By Elementary Relationship'. In this paper, NUMBER is applied to a cognitive map of policy maker to show its usefulness.

  • In a situation where the online learning is expanding due to COVID-19, the current maker education has limitations in applying it to classes. This study is to design the class of online maker education using artificial intelligence tools in elementary school. Also, it is to identify the responses to it and to confirm whether it helps improve the learner's computational thinking and creative problem solving ability. The class was designed by the literature review and redesign of the curriculum. Using interveiw, the responses of instructor and learners were identified. Pre- and post-test using corresponding sample t-test was conducted. As a result, the class consisted of ten steps including empathizing, defining making problems, identifying the characteristics of material and tool, designing algorithms and coding using remixes, etc. For computing thinking and creative problem solving ability, statistically significant difference was found. This study has the significance that practical maker activities using educational artificial intelligence tools in the context of elementary education can be practically applied even in the online environment.

  • Two conditions should be satisfied if fiscal policy is to stabilize economic cycles; proper policy timing and significant policy effect. This paper evaluates whether the policy timing has been proper in Korea by investigating the correlation between fiscal policy stance and economic conditions. We first calculate quarterly FIs (Fiscal Impulse) using the estimated potential GDP and fiscal balance data. Based on these indices, we 1) analyze how FIs respond to the economic conditions summarized in GDP gap through regression analysis, 2) compare average FIs in expansionary and recessionary periods according to the NSO's economic cycles, 3) evaluate fiscal policy maker's perception of economic conditions and its intention by reviewing the budget proposals. Although regression analysis shows that overall fiscal policy, especially expenditure side, has properly responded to economic conditions, average FIs do not show the significant difference between expansionary and recessionary periods. It is inconclusive whether the fiscal policy timing has been proper. Budget proposals show that actual fiscal policy stance has been sometimes inconsistent with the policy intention, which implies that it is hard to utilize fiscal policy actively to stabilize the economy.

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the moderating effect of the 'IRrelevance Processing'(IRP) on the relationship between decision maker's openness and business problem solving creativity (BPSC). In order to confirm the psychological mechanism of BPSC and openness, we developed the irrelevance processing. In particular, the creativity in this study is different from the general creativity studied in psychology. BPSC is a study with practical value applied in the management environment. The results showed that openness of the decision maker was correlated with the BPSC, and that the irrelevance processing was a psychological mechanism to moderating effects relationship between openness of decision makers and BPSC. This paper proved the correlation between the propensity of decision makers and BPSC, and contributed to the study of corporate creativity by identifying the psychological mechanisms.

  • Patient revisit to used hospital is a key factor in determining a health care organization's competitive advantage and survival. This article examines the relationship between customer's satisfaction and his/her revisit associated with three different methods which are the Chi Square Automatic Interaction Detection(CHAID) for segmenting the outpatient group, logistic regression and neural networks for addressing the outpatient's revisit. The main findings indicate that the important factors on outpatient's revisit are physician's kindness, nurse's skill, overall level of satisfaction, hospital reputation, recommendation, level of diagnoses and outpatient's age. Among these ones, physician's kindness is the most important factor as guidelines for decision of their revisit. The decision maker of hospital should select the strategy containing the variable amount of the level of revisit and size of outpatient's group under the constraint on the hospital's time, budget and manpower given. Finally, this study shows that neural networks, as non-parametric technique, appear to more correctly predict revisit than does logistic regression as a parametric estimation technique.
