To specify a formal semantics is to do a significant part for design, standardization and translation of programming languages. The existing studies of a formal semantics for Java have a weak point to describe a clear and practical semantics for an efficient translation. It is necessary to do research for a formal semantics to specify a static and dynamic semantics clearly in order to do an efficient translation. This paper presents the improved Action Equation that specifies a formal semantics for Java to extend the research using Action Equation. The Action Equation is a practical and accurate specification that describes object-oriented programming features and handles exceptions. The specified Action Equation is compared to other descriptions, in terms of readability, modularity, extensibility, and flexibility and then we verified that Action Equation is superior to other formal semantics.

The detection of position and speed in BLDC motors without using position sensors has meant many efforts for the last decades. The aim of this paper is to develop a sensorless technique for detecting the position and speed of BLDC motors, and to overcome the drawbacks of position sensor-based methods by improving the performance of traditional approaches oriented to motor phase voltage sensing. The position and speed information is obtained by computing the derivative of the terminal phase voltages regarding to a virtual neutral point. For starting-up the motor and implementing the algorithms of the detection technique, a FPGA board with a real-time processor is used. Also, a versatile hardware has been developed for driving BLDC motors through pulse width modulation (PWM) signals. Delta and wye winding motors have been considered for evaluating the performance of the designed hardware and software, and tests with and without load are performed. Experimental results for validating the detection technique were attained in the range 5-1500 rpm and 5-150 rpm under no-load and full-load conditions, respectively. Specifically, speed and position square errors lower than 3 rpm and between 10º-30º were obtained without load. In addition, the speed and position errors after full-load tests were around 1 rpm and between 10º-15º, respectively. These results provide the evidence that the developed technique allows to detect the position and speed of BLDC motors with low accuracy errors at starting-up and over a wide speed range, and reduce the influence of noise in position sensing, which suggest that it can be satisfactorily used as a reliable alternative to position sensors in precision applications.

The purpose of this study is to develop an online community construct, which proposes an inclusive illustration of the structure of online communities, for online community designers. This study reviewed researches from psychology, sociology, management engineering, and practical reports to understand the characteristics and dynamics of online communities. The proposed online community construct visualizes the cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects of online community. As the notion of community originates from geographical groups, and with the assumption that geographical community shares identical characteristics with online community, this study reviewed researches about geographical communities as a starting-point. Then the study went through three main perspectives (1) online community attributes, (2) sense of online community and (3) challenges of online community. Then this study proposed an online community construct that encompasses the reviewed frameworks. The online community can be seen as a congregation of members from two sources. One is from the 'Shared Goal' that meets the personal needs. Given the shared goal, members gather into the community without personal relationship and have more chances to feel the sense of belonging to their needs fulfillment or benefit. This befitting tendency leads to strengthening of membership. Public online forums fall under this classification. The other source is from the emotional connections that are already initiated by personal and casual contacts in the real world. The network of emotional connection can evolve into an online congregation of people under faint boundaries. Although there is no (or weak) shared goal, members are strongly bound to other members. Personal homepage or web log (blog) can be classified as an example of relationship-oriented community.

At present the educational envelopment of our country was placed in the difficult situation that cannot help but coping with the situation positively and actively against a lot of change and the crisis inside and outside. By employing the UI(university Identity) or CI(College Identity) for the communication method to overcome the above present situation and to take a triangular position again, those are recognized that making an effort to amend or re-generate the present images is important in the management of college. But UI or CI are upright and have strong feeling on the specific character of college which is called as educational organization. And in its application, it shows weak point that cannot scope softly against the changing current of times by lack of adaptability. By congesting the restriction of conveyance of image and upright nature of such operation, and also by developing the Image Mark that can convey variety, affection and polished feeling, and further by conveying the future-oriented images aimed by college to the educational consumers closely and softly, it is to take the roils faithfully for the strengthening of competitive power of college. In addition, in order to convey college image softly and effectively and also utilize as a means of positive propaganda, character was developed together.

The purpose of this study is to examine and understand decoding process of the Advertising - text to users a various aspects of semiotic approaches. Further more, through this study, show the sign- structures of the ad-text. For this purpose this study has chosen about the AD of publication of constant period that explore the variable characteristics, access the audience's meaning - structures. Through this analysis , grasp the point of internal and external linked structures. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; ㆍ The AD were applied using the transformational signifier of sign-system rather than the reflection of life's quality and products itself. Moreover to show itself meaning, the ad should do selection of transformation of thought than information-oriented. ㆍ The AD-text can be produced its productive efforts as well as decoding process of audience through various linked channel. Association, structured linking, audience's decoding, thematic structures are very important points in order to read the AD.

There were several methods of conception in seeking a visul idea of the advertising design. However, such conventional methods had a tendency that the degrees of utilization and satisfation are lacking. Also, in a thumbnail sketch phase, there was a great tendency to seek an idea based on pictorial elements only and thus depended chiefly on the existing references. Accordingly, originality was not high. Further, under the background which any common methods of a designer and a copywriter, if they have effective. I would like to propose a visul idea conception method, a condensing & amplification method for maintaining a logical system of advertising intelligence and for facilitating creative visualization through a language-oriented approach. The condensing & amplification method is the method of conception, in which after an appeal point as per advertising intelligence is passed through sentence and phrase and then condensed with word, various variation for the word develop, and by selecting the most creative word of the results, the thumbnail sketch commences based on the results amplified with the phrases and sentences.

This study is for the analysis on the basic engineering education for enhancing the quality of engineers at a local engineering school. Negative appraisal for the engineering education by industry, the decrease on the number of students applying for the colleges of engineering, the changes on the high school education make the engineering schools forced to improve the basic engineering education. For the starting point for the study, we have surveyed on the current engineering education by asking questions to professors, students and alumni of Hongik College of Science and Technology. Analyzing the survey results and considering the needs by industry, we have set the basic educational philosophy as educating practical engineers and have decided the goals of basic engineering education as changing to student oriented education, enhancing the field adaptation capability, improving the problem solving ability and introducing engineering design courses.

Purpose: A solid system in the process of establishing guidelines can increase social acceptance and utilization. The paper aims to comparatively analyze the system in which guidelines for health care facilities in the US, Australia, and the UK and suggest implications for Korea. Method: It conducted literature analysis of the system in the framework of composition, governance, and procedure for the Facility Guidelines Institute's Guideline for US, Australia's Australasian Health Facility Guidelines for Australia, and Health Building Notes for UK. Results and Implications: First, in terms of composition, the guidelines for health care facilities can be divided into composition by space and composition by issue. It is proposed to establish a system that space and issues are clearly separated, such as Australia's AusHGF, and complete it step by step. Second, in terms of governance, despite the fact that the medical supply is privately oriented, the medical system is controlled by the government in Korea. Therefore, it is suggested to form a separate organization in the public sector that establishes, researches, and revises the guideline that will serve as a focal point for experts in various fields to participate. Third, in terms of procedure, it is suggested to establish a guideline that reflects the experiences and demands of consumers by clearly organizing procedures including collecting opinions.

The purpose of this paper is to assess conservation value of forests and cultivated areas from the landscape ecological point of view. The main focus of landscape ecology estimates the reciprocal relationships between spatial patterns and ecological processes. This paper sets the criteria for conservation value and classify the conservation value based on the criteria. Forests and cultivated areas in Seo-Gu, Incheon Metropolitan City was selected as the case study area. In this research, factors such as patch size and connectivity have been selected in order to consider the landscape ecological aspect, gradient for the environmental physics aspect and to consider the environment-ecological aspect, grade of environmental-oriented land suitability analysis Map developed by the ROK Ministry of Environment has been utilized. GIS methodologies have been adopted to calculate the relationships among the above variables. Through literature review, the following evaluation criteria have been adopted: (1) based on island biogeography and metapopulation dynamics theory, patch size criteria are set 2ha and 10ha; (2) connectivity was set the degree of connection with surrounding grids; and (3) gradient of 20 degrees. Conclusively, this paper suggests that local conditions, landscape ecology and physical environment aspects should be considered to develop an estimation framework of the conservation value.

In this paper, we describe about interactive electronic book utilizing tabletop display interface and digi-pet. Because of this system can define a lot of gestures using touch point of finger, help that user experiences electronic book effectively more than existent input device. Also, support 1 users in 1 input device in existent mode, but this system can expect various effect because support Multi-user. The digi-pet(digital pet) is physical tools that convey emotion between tabletop display platform and user. And this shows various results acting as assistance because becomes master of story of imagination and participate directly on talk and makes change of story. In this paper, we described about oriented electronic book system the future that combines tabletop display and Digi-pet. This system is expected that the usefulness is increased by leaps and bounds along with technology development forward.
