Insolvency of construction companies that play the role of main contractors can lead to clients' losses due to non-fulfillment of construction contracts, and it can have negative effects on the financial soundness of construction companies and suppliers. The construction industry has the cash flow financial characteristic of receiving a project and getting payment based on the progress of the construction. As such, insolvency during project progress can lead to financial losses, which is why the prediction of construction companies is so important. The prediction of insolvency of Korean construction companies are often made through the KMV model from the KMV (Kealhofer McQuown and Vasicek) Company developed in the U.S. during the early 90s, but this model is insufficient in predicting construction companies because it was developed based on credit risk assessment of general companies and banks. In addition, the predictive performance of KMV value's insolvency probability is continuously being questioned due to lack of number of analyzed companies and data. Therefore, in order to resolve such issues, the Bayesian Probabilistic Approach is to be combined with the existing insolvency predictive probability model. This is because if the Prior Probability of Bayesian statistics can be appropriately predicted, reliable Posterior Probability can be predicted through ensured conditionality on the evidence despite the lack of data. Thus, this study is to measure the Expected Default Frequency (EDF) by utilizing the Bayesian Probabilistic Approach with the existing insolvency predictive probability model and predict the accuracy by comparing the result with the EDF of the existing model.

Glomerular mesangial cells (GMCs) in diverse renal diseases undergo cell proliferation and/or hypertrophy, and gangliosides have been reported to play an important role in modulating cell structure and function. This study compared the effects of transforming growth $factor-\beta\; (TGF\beta1)$ and the effects of the application of exogenous gangliosides on GMCs and investigated whether the application of exogenous gangliosides regulated cellular proliferation and hypertrophy. Human GMCs were cultured with exogenous gangliosides and $TGF-\beta1$ in a media containing $10\%$ fetal bovine serum and in a media without the fetal bovine serum. Exogenous gangliosides biphasically changed the proliferation of human GMCs (0.1-1.0 mg/mL). A low concentration (0.1 mg/mL) of gangliosides mainly increased the number of human GMCs, whereas cellular proliferation was significantly reduced by raising the concentration of exogenous gangliosides. $TGF-\beta1$ greatly reduced the number of human GMCs in a concentrationdependent manner (1-10 ng/mL). Serum deprivation accelerated the gangliosides- and $TGF\beta1-induced$ inhibition of mesangial cell proliferation to a greater extent. Gangliosides (1.0 mg/ mL) and $TGF-\beta1$ (10 ng/mL) both caused a significant increase in the incorporation of $[^3H]leucine$ per cell in the serum-deprived condition, whereas it was completely reversed in serumsupplemented condition. Similar results to the $[^3H]leucine$ incorporation were also observed in the changes in cell size measured by flow cytometric analysis. These results show that exogenous gangliosides modulate cell proliferation and hypertrophy in cultured human GMCs, and these cellular responses were regulated differently based on whether the media contained serum or not. Results from the present study raise new possibilities about the potential involvement of gangliosides in the development of mesangial cell proliferation and hypertrophy.
Objective : Sinapis alba L. (SA) is a korean traditional herbal medicine that is usually used to prevent or treat inflammatory diseases, such as respiratory infection and rheumatoid arthritis. However, the effects of SA supplementation in vitro on serum antibody levels, splenocyte and peritoneal macrophage immune responses have not yet been determined. In this study, we examined the effect of SA on the production of Th1/Th2 cytokines. Methods : Splenocytes were isolated from naive C57BL/6 mice. Cells were enriched for CD4+ cell populations by first staining the cells with anti-CD4 (BD PharMingen, Calif, USA). CD4+ T cells were selected on a (CS) column, and the flow-through was collected as CD4+ T cells. Isolated cells were activated by overnight incubation on 24-well plates coated with $1{\mu}g/mL$ anti-CD3, $1{\mu}g/mL$ anti-CD28 and with SA ($100{\mu}g/mL$). Primary macrophages were collected from the peritoneal cavities of mice (8-week-old female C57BL/6). The peritoneal macrophages were washed and plated with RPMI-1640 overnight for the experiments. After 48-hours cultures, samples were centrifuged at 2000 rpm for 10 minutes, and the supernatants were stored at $-80^{\circ}C$. Mouse IL-4, IFN-$\gamma$ and TNF-$\alpha$ were quantified using ELISA kits (BioSource International, Camarillo, Calif, USA) according to the manufacturer's protocols. Results : SA at 100ug/ml decreased the generation of Th1 cytokine (IFN-$\gamma$) by 0.5-fold. However, SA has no effect on Th2 (IL-4) production. Conclusions : These results suggest that SA may play an important role in the control of T-cell-mediated autoimmunity by down-regulation of Th1 cytokine (especially IFN-$\gamma$, TNF-$\alpha$). These data may contribute to the design of new immunomodulating treatments for a group of autoimmune diseases.
Dance films, which started together as a combination of dance and video technology, have evolved into a new genre. Overseas, from early 1950s, experimental dance films have been produced and the dance film association is organized along with many dance film festivals are being held. However, it has not been long since the perception and creativity of the genre of dance films in Korea. Under these circumstances, holding of the 'Seoul Dance Film Festival' and experimental approaches by 'Dance Film Project' are important for the development of domestic dance films. Therefore, this paper explores the concept and development of dance films, the status and features of various overseas dance film festivals and the 'Seoul Dance Film Festival'. This paper also explores the roll and function of 'Seoul Dance Film Festival' and 'Dance Film Project', and their expected benefit along with possibilities of prosperity of domestic dance film. 'Dance Film Project' is the educational and experimental venue for producing of dance films, and the 'Seoul Dance Film Festival' is a platform for producing dance film makers, show of works, dialogue with audiences, international exchanges, and distributions. The dance film festival embodies the value of the past and current flow of the dance film and is intrinsic to the existence of a live content that can be predicted the future aspect of its roll. The two groups mutual growth and development are expected to play a positive role in the development of domestic dance films.

The oxidative stress induced by reactive oxygen species (ROS) may play an important role in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases. In this study, we investigated the neuroprotective effects of methanolic extracts of Prunella Spica (PSE) against $H_2O_2$-induced oxidative stress in PC12 cells. The cells exposed to $H_2O_2$-induced oxidative stress were treated with various concentrations of PSE; this treatment resulted in the induction of a dose-dependent protective effect, which was evidenced by the results of MTT reduction assay, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay, morphological assay, and colony-formation assay. Interestingly, we also observed reduction of apoptotic bodies in the Hoechst staining and flow cytometric analysis. These data show that apoptosis was significantly suppressed in the PC12 cells that were exposed to $H_2O_2$-induced oxidative stress and treated with PSE. These results suggest that Prunella Spica could be a new potential protective agent against $H_2O_2$-induced oxidative stress.
The purpose of this study is to explore the family as an interaction system, concentrating on the mutual influences between communication and family development; (1) how Communication patterns affect family relationships, and (2) how relationships among family members affect communication. In order to do this Galvin, Brommel used the following frame work; family is a system in which communication regulates cohesion and adaptability by a flow of message patterns through a defined network of evolving interdependent relationships. A family system consists of members, the relationships among them, the family attributes, the members attributes and an environment in which family functions. Within the framework of common cultural communication patterns, each family has the capacity to develop its own communication code based on the experiences of individual members and the collective family experience. Most of us develop our communication skills within the family context learning both the general cultural language and the specific familial communication code. Communication may be viewed as a symbolic, transactional process as the process of creating and sharing meanings. To say that communication is a process implies a continuous interaction of an indefinite large numbers of variables with a concomitant,. continuous change in the values taken by these variables. Finally the process implies change, Family functions include the primary functions of cohesion and adaptability, and supporting functions of family images, themes, boundaries, and biosocial issues. The primary functions reveal concepts integrated family interaction and supporting function, along with those of cohesion and adaptability, give shape to family life. the characteristics of developed relationships of richness, uniqueness efficiency, substitutability, pacing , openness spontaneity, and evaluation are reflected in the verbal and nonverbal behaviors with which family members negotiated a set of common meanings and develop thier own unique message system. The message system is the major element of communication process and influences both the form and the content of thier relationship and in create and share meanings. Family systems need to provide order and predictability for thier members, specifically focusing on communication rules and the networks by which messages are transmitted. Most rules emerge as a result of multiful interactions. There are basic rules and rules about rules, or metarules. Perceiving the rules of family system is very difficult because often family members don't think about the basic rules, much less the metarules. Breaking the rule may result in the creation of a new set because the system may recalibrate itself to accept more variety of behavior. Families develop communication networks to deal with the general issue. Family adaptability may be seen through the degree of flexibility in forming and reforming networks and networks become a vital part of the decision- making process and relate to the power dynamics operating within the family. Networks also play an integral part in maintaining the roles and rules operating with the family system. Thus networks and rules have mutual influence. The family -of -origin issues influence all aspects of family communication and account for many of the communication patterns, rules and networks and the role of the family -of-origin influences as a primary force for communication on behavior of newly forming systems. Each family system develops its own communication meanings. There is not one right way to communicate within a family but may be indefinitly large change of family life and communication behavior. Study on functional family communication helps to gain a better understanding of dynamics of family communication and ability of a new insight into the family.

This research concerns with the urbanization in Pusan City, the largest port city of Korea focus on the changes of traffic volume from 1970 to 1994. These results are as follow: (1) Urbanization of Pusan City has progressed with increasing the efficiencies of streets. At the first, it's ribbon developed along the main artery toward inland. Urbanization is the process of bear a resemblance to characteristics of CBD. It has both expansion and diffusion processed, simultaneously. Urbanization has progressed centered certain nuclei and developed with more varieties are ally and temporally. (2) Traffic volumes according to times which go and return to piers affected to the traffic pattern of the some parts within the city, it is one of characteristics in port city. Variation of traffic volumes according to times much greater at the nearer streets the piers and connected street with it than the rest of the areas within the city. Rivers and mountains affecting to the traffic pattern and play roles of diffusion barriers for urbanization. (3) In the mid-1980, regions which locate along the main arteries had reached to as same level of urbanization as central part of the city. And higher ranked central places within Pusan City developed toward pattern of CBD in the past. It suggests that these central places revoluted to the recreation of CBD function in the past. (4) Urbanization has developed as same as cell differentiation in process, and it encouraged the more greater variation among the regions and become clear the hierarchy of central places within the city.
Stories have existed with the history of mankind along with drawings. Any genre of art that discusses the flow of time, such as literature, film, and play, cannot be free from narratives. The comics are not an exception. The comics tell the narratives with drawings from the cartoons in single blocks to the full-length series in tens of volumes. Nevertheless, there are not many studies that discuss the narratives in the comics. They may have been overlooked because they have been studied in the field of literature. However, I am envious of the field of film, which unravels the narratives with the same visual images, profoundly explores its own narratives and experimentally modifies and expands them into various levels. Therefore, I would like to make a narrative approach to the comics in this study. This study will discuss the non-narratives. It may sound ironic that the study of narratives will discuss the non-narratives, but the narratives cannot exist without the non-narratives. The non-narratives in the narratives compose the narratives in various ways. Therefore, Chapter II will discuss how the theory of narratives in literature classifies the narratives and the non-narratives as a theoretical background. Then, Chapter III will analyze the forms of non-narratives in Han Jo Kim's "The Texture of Memory" to discuss how the non-narratives of comics are composed, while Chapter IV will summarize the preceding studies. Finally, the narratives should be actively studied as it is an essential component of comics. I hope that this study can lay the foundation for more in-depth discussions of the narratives in the comics.
In this paper. we propose a novel performance monitoring scheme for heterogeneous SOAP nodes. The scheme is basically based on two-level (kernel-level and user-level) packet filtering of TCP flows. By TCP flow, we mean a sequence of raw packet streams on a TCP transaction. In this scheme, we detect and extract SOAP operations embedded in SOAP messages from TCP flows. Therefore, it becomes possible to monitor heterogeneous SOAP nodes deployed on diverse SOAP-based middlewares such as .Net and Apache AXIS. We present two implementation mechanisms for the proposed scheme. The first mechanism tries to identify SOAP operations by analyzing all fragmented SOAP messages on TCP flows. However, a naive policy would incur untolerable overhead since it needs to copy all packets from kernel to user space. The second mechanism overcomes this problem by selectively copying packets from kernel to user space. For selective copying, we use a kernel-level packet filtering method that makes use of some representative TCP flags.(e.g. SIN, FIN and PSH). In this mechanism, we can detect SOAP operations only from the last fragment of SOAP messages in most cases. Finally, we implement a SOAP monitoring system using a component ca]led SOAP Sniffer that realizes our proposed scheme, and show experimental results. We strongly believe that our system will play a vital role as a tool for various services such as transaction monitoring and load balancing among heterogeneous SOAP nodes.
Arterial allografts have known advantages over prosthetic vascular conduit for treatment of heart valvular disease, congenital heart disease and aortic disease. Cell viability may play a role in determining the longterm outcome of allografts. Endothelial cell is one important part in determining the allograft viability. To evaluate the viability of endothelial cells using current allograft preservation technique, porcine heart valve leaflets and arterial wall were subjected to collagenase digestion. Single endothelial cell suspension was labeled with GSA-PITC(Griffonia simplicifolia agglutininfluorescein isothiocyan te), a vascular, endothelial cell specific marker. The cell suspension was washed and incubated with Pl(Propidium iodide), which does not bind with viable cells, Endothelial cell viability was evaluated by calculating the percentage of GSA-FITC(+) and Pl(-) group using flowcytometric analysis. Allografts were treated with $4^{\circ}C$ antibiotic solo!ion for 24 hours for sterilization. After this, half of allografts were stored in $4^{\circ}C$ RPMI 1640 with HEPES buffer culture medium with 10% fetal bovine serum for 1 to 14 days(Group I). Another half of allografts were cryopreserved with a currently used technique (Group II). During the procurement and sterilization of arterial allografts, 22.8% and 24.4% of endothelial cell viability declined, respectively. In Group I, 11.9% of endothelial cell viability declined further steadily during 14 days of storage. In Group II, 13.7% of endothelial cell viability declined. These results show that largest loss of endothelial cell viability occurs during the nitial process. After 14 days of arterial allograft storage under $4^{\circ}C$ nutrient medium or cryopreservation, about 40% of endothelial cell viability is maintained. There were no differences between the endothelial cell viability from aortic valve leaflet, pulmonic valve leaflets, aortic wall and pulmonic wall.
