Small ions generated at conductor corona sources remain in the atmosphere until they recombine with ions of opposite polarity, attach to aerosols, or make contact with an object. Ion current density is major factor to design conductor configuration of DC overhead transmission line. Several techniques have been used to measure the ion current of HVDC overhead transmission line. In this study, the ion current density was measured by a plate electrode made of a metal flat board at DC corona cage. The sensitivity of the plate electrode is $0.156uA/m^2/V$. To obtain an useful database on corona discharge, it is necessary to do corona test on several kinds of conductor bundles. Therefore, a number of experiments were conducted on several kinds of conductor bundles. To reliably analyze ion effects, corona cage test data were obtained over a long period of time under various weather conditions and expressed as a statistical distribution. Ion current density distribution in foul weather shows a significant increase in levels over the corresponding fair weather. Based on this results, we evaluated the environmental characteristic caused by ion flow of three candidated conductor bundles.
In this paper, the electric properties of amorphous selenium specimen has been investigated. Amorphous selenium was thermally evaporated on the glass plate which had been deposited onto the interface by aluminium as an electrode. On the surface of the amorphous selenium, the aluminium electrode was deposited again in order to make an unit cell for dark current measurement. The dark current was measured while applying the bias voltage across the selenium layer in the range of 0V-2500 Volts. The leakage property of the amorphous selenium was significantly low at even high voltage range so it has good advantage as a X-ray receptor for digital radiography. For further study, the C-V curves measurement according to thicker amorphous selenium layer.
In this study, the weld strength of extru-rivet spot welding was investigated by simulation and experiment. In order to obtain hot plasticity flow bonding of the two plates by a single rivet, electrodes are used for heating of the two plates and the rivet by electric resistance. Because weld strength is influenced by the temperature in the weld zone, the diameter of the electrodes and the amount of current supplied to the electrodes are important variables. For the simulation, heat distribution and weld strength were calculated using DEFORM-3D. The weld strength in the weld zone was calculated for various values of the experimental parameters. The simulation results showed that the weld strength was the highest when the weld current was 37kA, the electrode diameter was 12mm, and the welding frequency was 90cycle. Aluminum 5052 was used for the experimental study. A total of three aluminum plates, two welding plates with 1mm thickness and one plate with 2mm thickness for the inserting rivet, were used for the experimental extru-rivet spot welding.
A conventional electrolyzing cell has been made by an ion exchange membrane inbetween parallel plate electrodes. A low dc voltage is applied to the electrodes for electrolyzing and the efficiency is remained in low. in this study, a novel electrolyzing cell with a pair of slit-type third electrodes installed inbetween parallel plate electrodes has been proposed and investigated experimentally. And pulse power wa supplied to between each electrodes. This slit type of third electrodes can concentrate the strong electric fields at the every its edges to accelerate the electrolyzing powers, and to generate oxygen bubble discharges for generating oxidants. And moreover the slits eliminate the space charge limiting action and the temperature of the water by leaking out through the slits from electrolyzing region to outside of the main electrode region. As a result, it was found that a strong electorzed water of pH 2.8 and pH 10.5 and oxidants dissolved water of 1 [ppm] in acidic water were obtained with a tap water fed at the electric current of 2 [A], which however were several times higher oxidant and ion concentration quantity compared with the conventional cell.

In this paper, a MEMS tunable capacitor was successfully designed and fabricated using an aluminum nitride film and a gold suspended membrane with two air gap structure for commercial RF applications. Unlike conventional two-parallel-plate tunable capacitors, the proposed tunable capacitor consists of one air suspended top electrode and two fixed bottom electrodes. One fixed and the top movable electrodes form a variable capacitor, while the other one provides necessary electrostatic actuation. The fabricated tunable capacitor exhibited a capacitance tuning range of 375% at 2 GHz, exceeding the theoretical limit of conventional two-parallel-plate tunable capacitors. In case of the contact state, the maximal quality factor was approximately 25 at 1.5 GHz. The developed fabrication process is also compatible with the existing standard IC (integrated circuit) technology, which makes it suitable for on chip intelligent transceivers and radios.
The effect of arc like streamer discharge is investigated on the hydrogen generation in the plasma reactor with multineedle - plate electrode geometry and SDR (Plasma reactor using the surface discharge). An additive of the two type (the saw type and the pellet type) was placed under the water surface to investigate the effect of the water surface conditions. The experimental results are compared in case of the reactor with and without an additive on the water surface. The generation of arc streamer discharge is more powerful with increasing applied voltage in the saw type. The maximum hydrogen Production concentration is about 4300 ppm at 74W in the SDR with additive of the saw type. Also, the Energy yield of the SDR (28990 g/kWh, 4300ppm, 74W) is higher than of the multineedle - plate electrode geometry (20892g/kWh, 3300ppm, 77W).

In the current study investigated the protective effects of citrus based mixture drinks (CBMDs) using oxidative stress in human dermal fibroblast (HDF) cells and restraint-stressed rats. The CBMDs contained citrus bioflavonoids including narirutin and hesperidin. The cell viability of HDF cells treated with $H_2O_2$ was observed at 53.9% but treated with CBMD-1 and CBMD-2 ($500{\mu}g/mL$) on $H_2O_2$ exposed HDF cells significantly increased the relative cell viability at 65.0 and 72.2%, respectively. In the treadmill test, the time spent on the electrode plate in the restraint-stressed group was analyzed 24.1 s, but restraint-stressed rats with administered CBMDs (300 mg/kg) had significantly decreased the time at 2.4 (CBMD-1) and 4.7 (CBMD-2) s, respectively. In addition, number of touches the electrode plate in restraint-stressed group was observed at 42.4 ea, but, restraint-stressed rats with administered CBMD-1 and CBMD-2 (300 mg/kg) were significantly decreased at 7.0 and 10.2 ea, respectively.

The plane bending corrosion fatigue test was performed on the welded zone between SM58 steel plate and SM41 steel plate jointed with submerged arc welding in the air and in the natural sea water with various conditions. The main results obtained from the test are summarized as follows: 1) The welded zone of the steel plates has the lowest impact strength and the highest electrode potential, but the hardness was mediate of SM58 base and SM41 base. 2) The cathodic protection of the welded zone was also effective for the plane bending corrosion fatigue, and the optimum protection potential of the welded zone was -1,000 mV SCE. 3) The corrosion fatigue strength under the various stress conditions of the steel plate could be estimated and also the require safety factors on the design could be obtained from the plane bending fatigue limit diagram.
High capacity container carrier has been considered for many decades to transport the more containers at the same time. Therefore, it is required for high capacity container ship to be applied thicker plate to accomodate a mumber of containers compared to that of general container ship. To increase productivity of welding, new welding process should be considered. A representive process for increase of weld productivity is EGW(Electrode Gas Welding) process. Both sides EGW process was evaluated for thicker-plate TMCP Steel. From the test result, it is considered that this process can be applied, showing satisfaction of mechanical properties such as tensile strength and impact property.
