Combined BOLD fMRI and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Study: Evaluation of Ipsilateral Motor Pathway of Stroke Patients

  • Purpose: In this study, we investigated the possible motor pathways of hemiplegic stroke patients usin combined TMS and BOLD fMRI approach and evaluated the correlation between TMS a fMRI methods. Method: Four subjects, who demonstrated left hemiplegia after stroke, are included. TMS was performed using a Dantec Mag2 stimulator (Dantec Company, USA) in single puls mode with figure eight-shaped coil. Following TMS localization, The BOLD T2*-weight images were acquired with echo planar imaging sequence (TR = 1.2 sec, TE = 60 msec, and flip angle = 90). Motor activation was studied by means of a repetitive fing flexion-extension task. The stimulation protocol comprised 10 cycles of alternating activati and rest (10 images per cycle). Total 60 cycles were performed and each cycle take abou 1.5 sec. The resulting images were then analyzed with STIMULATE (CMRR, U, o Minnesota) to generate functional maps using a student t-test (p < 0.0005) and cluste analysis.

유도형 축방향 모터의 6축력 제어를 이용한 대회전 구현용 통합 구동기 (Integrated Driver for the Full Rotation Using Six-axial Forces by the Induction Type of Axial-gap Motor)

  • To overcome the limited relative uncertainty and work range of the existing planar stage and the bulk structure of the contact-less motor for rotation, the novel operating principle to realize the precise rotation is suggested. It uses the two-axial vector forces, normal force and thrust force, of three-induction type of axial motors located $120^{\circ}$ apart, resulting in the contact-free rotation of the mover. Firstly in this paper, the magnetic forces across the air gap are modeled and simulated under the various conditions. It clarifies the feasible range of the derived solution. And the algorithm compensating the strong cross couple between the forces and the control inputs; generally AC magnitude and slip frequency, is given to realize the independent control of six axes. Finally, for the successfully implemented system, the round test and the micro step test results are given.

  • In this paper, Solar, Wind, fuel cell used in a Power conversion devices and industrial inverter motor to increase the efficiency of energy consumption, which is a core part of high-efficiency, high-voltage Trench Gate Field Stop IGBT was studied. For this purpose Planar type NPT IGBT and Planar type Field Stop IGBT have designed a basic structure designed to Trench Gate Field Stop IGBT based on the completed structure by analyzing the energy consumption of electrical characteristics, efficiency is a key part, high-efficiency and high-voltage inverter for industry regarding the optimization design for Trench Gate Field Stop IGBT.

낮은 온저항과 칩 효율화를 위한 Unified Trench Gate Power MOSFET의 설계에 관한 연구 (Design of Unified Trench Gate Power MOSFET for Low on Resistance and Chip Efficiency)

  • Power MOSFET operate voltage-driven devices, design to control the large power switching device for power supply, converter, motor control, etc. We have optimal designed planar and trench gate power MOSFET for high breakdown voltage and low on resistance. When we have designed $6,580{\mu}m{\times}5,680{\mu}m$ of chip size and 20 A current, on resistance of trench gate power MOSFET was low than planar gate power MOSFET. The on state voltage of trench gate power MOSFET was improved from 4.35 V to 3.7 V. At the same time, we have designed unified field limit ring for trench gate power MOFET. It is Junction Termination Edge type. As a result, we have obtained chip shrink effect and low on resistance because conventional field limit ring was convert to unify.

  • Power MOSFET operate voltage-driven devices, design to control the large power switching device for power supply, converter, motor control, etc. We have analyzed trench process, field limit ring process for fabrication of unified trench gate power MOSFET. And we have analyzed electrical characteristics of fabricated unified trench gate power MOSFET. The optimal trench process was based on SF6. After we carried out SEM measurement, we obtained superior trench gate and field limit ring process. And we compared electrical characteristics of planar and trench gate unified power MOSFET after completing device fabrication. As a result, the both of them was obtained 500 V breakdown voltage. However trench gate unified power MOSFET was shown improved Vth and on state voltage drop characteristics than planar gate unified power MOSFET.

Modeling and Multivariable Control of a Novel Multi-Dimensional Levitated Stage with High Precision

  • This paper presents the modeling and multivariable feedback control of a novel high-precision multi-dimensional positioning stage. This integrated 6-degree-of-freedom. (DOF) motion stage is levitated by three aerostatic bearings and actuated by 3 three-phase synchronous permanent-magnet planar motors (SPMPMs). It can generate all 6-DOF motions with only a single moving part. With the DQ decomposition theory, this positioning stage is modeled as a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) electromechanical system with six inputs (currents) and six outputs (displacements). To achieve high-precision positioning capability, discrete-time integrator-augmented linear-quadratic-regulator (LQR) and reduced-order linearquadratic-Gaussian (LQG) control methodologies are applied. Digital multivariable controllers are designed and implemented on the positioning system, and experimental results are also presented in this paper to demonstrate the stage's dynamic performance.

자기부상 스테이지의 제어를 위한 모델링에 관한 연구 (A Study on the modeling for the control of magnetic levitation stage)

  • In this paper, we addressed a modeling for the magnetic levitation stage. This planar magnetic levitator employs four permanent magnet liner motors. Each motor generates vertical force for suspension against gravity, as well as horizontal force for propulsion. Therefore. this stage can generate six degrees of freedom motion by the combination of forces. We derived a mechanical dynamics equation using Lagrangian method and electromechanical dynamics equation by using Co-energy method. Based on the derived dynamics, we can analyze the stage motion that is subject to the input currents and forces.

  • x,y평면 위를 자유롭게 구동할 수 있는 서피스 모터(평면 모터)의 디텐트력을 3차원 유한요소 해석을 이용하여 해석한다. 고정자와 이동자를 분리하여 모델링을 하고 접하는 면을 주기 경계조건으로 처리하여 실제로 이동하지 않고도 이동을 고려할 수 있도록 하였다. 고정자와 이동자의 계수 행렬을 분리하여 영역 분할법을 적용하여 계산 시간을 단축하였다.

저속 고토오크 제로터 유압모터의 최적 이 끝 틈새를 갖는 제로터 설계 연구 (A Study on Gerotor Design with Optimum Tip Clearance for Low Speed High Torque Gerotor Hydraulic Motor)

  • Gerotor hydraulic motor is widely used in hydraulic systems due to its low speed, high torque output and compactness in rotational direct driving of a heavy weight. Gerotor is a Planar mechanism consisted of a pair of rotor and circular teeth of stator assembly which forms a closed space, so called a chamber. The motion of rotor relative to the circular tooth is produced by the pressure difference of hydraulic operating fluid between the adjacent chamber. As all active contact points of rotor and circular teeth are subjected to very high sliding friction, a reduction in the performance of the gerotor hydraulic motor can not be avoided. Therefore, the core design parameters of gerotor profile used in hydraulic motors is to minimize a friction force by high contact stresses. The analytical design method of gerotor profile, based on envelope of a family of curves, is proposed. In this study, the influence of the tip clearances on three critical contact points between rotor and circular teeth of stator assembly has been explored by experimental data in this paper. At the same time a improvement method to reduce the friction force is proposed and the tip clearances on three critical points for getting an optimum gerotor profile are also analyzed.

3T에서 뇌 운동피질의 기능적 자기공명영상 연구 : Gradient-Echo와 Spin-Echo EPI의 비교 (Functional MR Imaging of Cerebral Motor Cortex on 3 Tesla MR Imaging : Comparison between Gradient and Spin-Echo EPI Techniques)

  • To evaluate the accuracy and extent in the localization of cerebral motor coutex activation using a gradient- echo echo planar imaging(GE-EPI) compared to spin-echo echo planar iimaging(SE-EPI) on 3T MR imaging. Functional MR imaging of cerebral motor cortex activation was examined in GE-EPI and SE-EPI in five healthy male volunteers. A right finger movement was accomplished with a paradigm of 6 task and rest, periods and the cross-correlation was used for a statistical mapping algorithm. We evaluated any sorts of differenced of the time seried and the signal intensity changes between the rest and task periods obtained with two technoques. The qualitative analysis was distributed with activation sites of large veins and small veins by using two techniques and was found that both the techniques were clinically uesful for delineating large veins and small veins in fMRL Signal intensity charge of the rest and activation periods provided simmilar activations in both methods(GE-EPI : 0.93$\pm$0.11, SE-EPI : 0.80$\pm$.015) but the signal intensity in GE-EPI(133.95$\pm$15.76) was larger than in SE-EPI(74.5$\pm$18.90). The average SNRs of EPI raw data were higher at SMA in SE-EPI(48.54$\pm$12.37) than GE-EPI(41.4$\pm$12.54) and at M1 in SE-EPI(43.24$\pm$11.77) than GE-EPI(38.27$\pm$6.53). The localization of activation voxels of the GE-EPI showed a larger vein but the SE-EPI generally showed small vein. Then the analysis results of the two techniques were used for a statistacal paired student t-test. SE-EPI was found clinically useful for localizing the cerebral moter cortex cativation on 3.0T, but showed a little different activation patterns comparad to GE-EPI. In conclusion, SE-EPI may be feasible and can detect true cortical activation from capillaries and GE-EPI can obtain the large veins in the motor cortex activation on 3T MR imaging.
