공군 조종사 직무만족수준과 이직의도에 관한 연구: 직무스트레스의 요인분석을 중점으로 (A study about The ROKAF Pilots' Job Satisfaction Level and Intention of Turnover: Focused on The Factor Analysis of Job Stress)

  • Many pilots of the Korean Air Force(ROKAF) leave their jobs in order to move out to civilian airlines. Thanks to this considerable turnover phenomenon, the ROKAF faces a serious lack of air defense power. While the common understanding of this problem mainly talks about 'money' as the main cause of turnover, some pilots point out rather different issues. Many pilots say in a large-scale survey that they face serious job stresses not only from relative shortage of their income compared to civilian pilots, camp life, separated family conditions, overly loaded administrative works, but also from their professional flight trainings and low promotion rate to high ranks. The survey shows, however, at the same time, that the ROKAF pilots do not consider their job trainings and overall roles as the military pilots as the main factor causing the intention to turnover. A critical aspect of the pilots' job condition is many stress factors consistently affect overall job satisfaction level which stimulates the decision to turnover when they have to choose between the extension of military service as a pilot and moving-out to civilian airlines for new pilot's life. In other words, they accept the job difficulties as pilot in the military, but their long-term job satisfaction level is negatively affected by the job stresses.

  • This study focused to find the main factors causing job stress to ROKAF pilots and of which factors affects to turnover intention. As a results, the factors of job stress are job characteristics, over loaded ground work, payment, promotion and employee benefits & service system. All of these 5 factors are positively related to the causes of a pilot stress. Among the job stress factors, payment, promotion and over loaded ground work are positively related as the same order. But, job characteristics and employee benefits & service system are not. Even though ROKAF pilots are stressed by annual requirement and night flying, and also are stressed by unfulfilled welfare, those two stress factors are not related to the turnover intention.

직무분석을 통한 회전익 항공기 조종사 적성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Aptitude for Helicopter Pilots through the Job Analysis)

  • The operational environment of helicopters extends from the civil air traffic control system to remote and hazardous areas and from day operations under visual flight conditions to night operations in adverse weather. Helicopters can move in any direction, remain stationary while airborne, climb and descend vertically, and take off and land almost anywhere. Thus their range of maneuvers and control requirements vary more widely than do those of fixed-wing aircraft. In this study, I analyzed the job of helicopter pilot through methods of observation, and classified the required ability of them into the domain of cognitive, perceptual/spatial, psychomotor. I expect that the result of this study will be used to aid training and selection of helicopter pilot.

학교급식 조리사의 직무분석 (The Job Analysis of Cooks of School Foodservice)

  • This study was to analyze the job of cooks of school foodservice. The purpose of this study were to examine importance of the present job and future-oriented job of cooks in school foodservice, and to compare the present job performance time with the future-oriented job performance time. The questionnaire was delveloped by focus group and pilot test. The work sampling was choosed to verify the objectivity of job analysis. The statistical software package was SAS 10.0. ‘Menu Management’, ‘Procurement’, ‘Receiving and Inventory control’ and ‘Cooking facilities Management’ of the present job was perceived significantly more important than the future-oriented job. ‘Procurement’, ‘Receiving and inventory control’, ‘distribution’ and ‘dishwashing’ of the future-oriented job was perceived significantly longer than the present job performance time. This study will be used to develop job specification for the cooks of school foodservice.

비행 스트레스가 직무 만족도와 안전문화에 미치는 영향 : 항공사 및 직급별 조절된 매개효과 (The Effect of Flight Stress on Job Satisfaction and Safety Culture: Moderator Effect by Airlines and Rank)

  • 본 연구는 국내 민간 항공사 조종사 193명을 대상으로 비행 스트레스가 직무 만족도 및 안전문화에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 비행 스트레스는 직무 만족도에 부정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 직무 만족도가 낮은 조종사는 안전문화 인식도 낮게 나타났다. 특히, 항공사와 조종사의 직급에 따라 비행 스트레스가 직무 만족도와 안전문화에 미치는 영향에 차이를 보였다. 이는 항공사와 조종사 직급별로 맞춤형 스트레스 관리 프로그램 개발의 필요성을 시사한다. 연구는 항공 산업의 안전 문화 강화를 위해 조종사의 스트레스 관리와 직무 만족도 향상이 중요함을 강조한다. 또한, 항공사는 조종사의 스트레스를 감소시키고, 직무 만족도를 높여 안전문화를 강화하는 전략을 개발해야 한다. 본 연구 결과는 항공산업에서 조종사들의 스트레스 관리와 안전문화 강화를 위한 방안 모색에 유용한 기초 자료로 활용하기 위함이다.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore the meaning of job experiences of fixed night shift nurses participating in a pilot project by a tertiary hospital, and to provide basic information for improving their night shift working environment. Methods: A descriptive qualitative study was conducted using individual interviews in September 2022. Three female nurses who worked fixed night shifts were recruited from a tertiary hospital. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Results: By analyzing the meaning of job experience as a fixed night shift nurse, four categories and nine subcategories were identified. The four categories of job experience of fixed night shift nurses were: expecting an improvement physical health due to predictable working hours, enjoying leisure time due to long off-duty hours, regretting for loosened relationships, and considering a successful settlement of fixed night shift nursing. Conclusion: As night shift work is essential for nurses to provide continuous nursing to patients, it is necessary to develop various strategies to improve the physical health of night shift nurses through fatigue management and good sleep quality, mental health through work-life harmony, and social health through intimate relationships between patients and coworkers.

교육전담간호사 제도 시범사업 적용에 따른 일 의료기관에서의 성과 (Application and Evaluation of the Pilot Program for the Education Nurse System in a Medical Institution)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the performance following the application of the pilot program for the education nurse system of the Ministry of Health and Welfare in a medical institution. Methods: This study was employed a non-homogeneous comparative group design by comparing new nurses who entered the medical institution after the pilot project from December 2019 to April 2020 with new nurses who entered before the pilot project during the same period. Satisfaction, academic achievement, job adaptation, personal turnover within one year, and patient safety incident rate were investigated as performance indicators. Results: After the pilot project, the overall satisfaction among new nurses, preceptors, and fellow nurses increased, but there were no significant changes in academic achievement and job adaptation in new nurses. The personal turnover rate decreased from 15.6% to 9.1%, and the patient safety incident rate also decreased from 26.3% to 15.7%. Also, the preceptor overtime also decreased from 3.67 to 0.66 hours. Conclusion: The performance of the pilot project for the education nurse system was related to improvements in satisfaction, turnover rate of new nurses, patient safety incident rate, and preceptor overtime. Above all long-term monitoring of each performance indicator is necessary through the continuation of the education nurse system of the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

조종사 정년연장에 대한 고찰: 65세 이후 (Pilot Age Older than 65, A New Challege)

  • The commercial pilot retirement age has continued to 65 since the International Civil Aviation Organization(ICAO) amended the recommended age limit from 60. The target of this review is to analyse whether aged pilots have an increased age-dependent risk of medical incapacitation. Medical in-flight incapacitation is actually very rare event and the demonstrated annual incapacitation rate provides an acceptable risk within the criteria known as 1% safety rule for a pilot undertaking air transport operations while some controversies exist. There is a possibility that the accident rate has decreased due to the improved skill by increasing pilot's age. At the decision of flight or not for elderly airline pilot the interacting factors of personal health status, piloting experience and new flight environments should be considered to define job limit criteria than mere the age. Results of a survey led by airline pilot association in Korea shows 65% of airline pilots are willing to fly without any age limit and 87% agreed that age limit is worthy to extend beyond current standard on the basis of medical examinations. Only 11% agreed to maintain current age limit.

비행안전 위해(Hazard)요인이 조종사의 안전행동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Job Stress and Hazard Factors on Pilot Safety Behavior)

  • 항공산업의 발전에도 불구하고 조종사의 인적오류에 의한 항공기 사고는 지속해서 발생하고 있다. 인적오류에 의한 항공기 사고의 원인은 비행안전을 저해하는 위해(hazard) 요인을 사전에 제거하지 못해 사고로 이어지는 것이다. 본 연구는 국내 항공사에 근무하는 운항승무원과 일반항공 (general aviation)의 조종사를 대상으로, 비행안전을 위협하는 여러 가지 위해 요인 중에서 조종사에게 심리적, 신체적으로 영향을 미치는 직무스트레스와 피로, 불안감이 안전행동에는 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보았다. 아울러 직무스트레스와 안전행동의 간에 안전문화의 매개효과를 확인하기 위한 실증분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과에 의하면 직무스트레스는 조종사의 안전행동에 직접적인 영향을 줄 뿐만이 아니라 안전분위기, 보고문화와 같은 항공사의 안전문화에도 영향을 미친다는 것이다. 이러한 조종사의 직무스트레스와 안전문화, 안전행동간의 상관관계를 통해 안전관리시스템의 성과를 제고하고자 한다.

Privacy Enhanced Data Security Mechanism in a Large-Scale Distributed Computing System for HTC and MTC

  • We developed a pilot-job based large-scale distributed computing system to support HTC and MTC, called HTCaaS (High-Throughput Computing as a Service), which helps scientists solve large-scale scientific problems in areas such as pharmaceutical domains, high-energy physics, nuclear physics and bio science. Since most of these problems involve critical data that affect the national economy and activate basic industries, data privacy is a very important issue. In this paper, we implement a privacy enhanced data security mechanism to support HTC and MTC in a large-scale distributed computing system and show how this technique affects performance in our system. With this mechanism, users can securely store data in our system.
