The contrast ratio, brightness, and uniformity of S-IPS panel, whose alignment process was employed by ion-beam-alignment (IBA) technology, were improved significantly compared with the convention rubbing's panel, because the light leakage has been reduced in dark state effectively. The IBA technology could generate a panel whose pretilt angle was stable and low after post-treatment process.

Inkjet printing technology is a highly proprietary process. We have evaluated the possibility of using inkjet technique to prepare color filters. Product specification for TV application was used as a template to examine process capability. Technical aspects of ink composition, jetting ability, and surface interaction were discussed.

This paper proposes new algorithms for the estimation of displacement vector and moving object extraction using difference picture. First, the relations between the boundary of moving objects in two consecutive image and the boundary of difference picture regions are analyzed, then displacement vector estimation algorithm is proposed. Using the estimated displacement vector, moving objects are directly extracted from difference picture. Since the proposed algorithms do not process gray-valued image, they have a short processing time and are suitable to real time processing. From the experimental results, we observed that, if difference picture is wel extracted, the proposecd algorithms work well even in the circumstances of complex background, fast or slow motion, rotation etc., including occlusion where is not moving area.

The LED light source has many excellent advantages for the application of LCD backlight module. As we know, the operational temperature can significantly influence the characteristics of LEDs. Heat can decrease LED's output light intensity and make its dominant wavelength (${\lambda}d$) drift. These two factors make display's color temperature change and induce different NTSC results. Here, we perform an important relation between NTSC and the above two factors of LED-LCD display.

This paper described a 2.2" $QCIF^+$ ($176{\times}RGB{\times}220$) active matrix organic light-emitting diode display (AMOLED) using low-temperature poly-silicon (LTPS) technology. We have designed the OLED pixel to match the OLED material characteristic with COG specification and optimized pixel structure to improve color gamma adjustment and simplify signal complexity.

This study investigated the verbal responses of kindergarten children to fantasy and realistic picture books. The subjects were 60 five-year-old children divided into small groups of 4 children each. Each group was read four picture books of which two were fantasy and two were realistic. Transcripts of the children's responses were analyzed for number, content, and type of verbal response. Mean scores and standard deviations were measured and the data were analyzed by repeated one-way ANOVA. Results showed that the children showed (1) more verbal responses to the fantasy than to the realistic picture books. (2) They gave more verbal responses to fantasy picture books than to realistic books in terms of character, scene, event, and vocabulary. They also gave more verbal responses to fantasy picture books than to realistic books in terms of informative, heuristic, and imaginative types.

This study analyzes circulation statistics of television tie-in picture books from the Wake County Public Library System in North Carolina to determine their popularity among patrons. Caldecott winning picture books were used as a point of comparison. This study also examined OPAC holdings from North Carolina public libraries to determine television tie-in picture book popularity among collection builders. The findings of the study show that television tie-in picture books are found to some degree in the vast majority of North Carolina public libraries, and are more popular than award winners in the Wake County system.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the dual readership represented in the use of picture books. The study was conducted through in-depth interviews and observation of 9 families including 5-year-olds. The findings of this study were as follows. First, mothers exercised their exclusive right to choose books for their children. They usually used online bookstores, libraries, or book rental shops by consulting other mothers or merchandisers. On the other hand, fathers and children seldom involved themselves in the selection of picture books. Second, children preferred interesting books, while mothers favored complete series of books, which were usually for educational purposes. Third, dynamic interaction between mother and child was occurred during their daily routine of reading picture books together. Five-year-olds seemed to be transitioning into independent readers, and mothers showed that they were also readers of picture books when they appreciated and enjoyed them.

주의를 기울이지 않은 배경자극의 정서가가 표적자극의 지각처리에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 정서적 그림자극(IAPS) 위에 6개 글자들을 함께 제시하고서 실험참가자들에게 특정 글자를 탐지하도록 요구하였다. 글자탐지의 난이도를 달리하여 지각부담을 조작하였는데, 정확율과 반응시간 모두에서 저부담조건이 고부담조건보다 빠르고 정확하였다. ERP 분석 결과, 정서자극 없이 글자탐지만 수행한 통제조건의 경우 후측 시각영역에서 P1과 N1 성분에서 지각부담효과가 관찰되었다. 실험조건에서는 정서가와 지각부담의 상호작용이 후측 시각영역의 N1에서 관찰되었는데, 특히 중립정서보다 부정정서에서 고부담조건과 저부담조건간 진폭 차이가 더 크게 나타났다. 배경자극이 부정적인 경우 중립적인 경우보다 주의용량을 더 소모함으로써 지각부담효과가 더 컸던 것으로 판단되는데, 이는 주의집중 받지 않은 정서자극이 자동적으로 처리되어 표적자극의 초기 지각처리에 영향을 미친다는 것을 시사한다.

이 연구는 글 없는 그림책 활동이 유아의 그림 표상능력과 사회성 발달에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 연구대상은 K유치원에 재학 중인 만 3세 유아 30명으로 하였다. 그 중 15명을 실험집단으로 나머지 15명을 비교집단으로 선정하였다. 실험처치는 실험집단에 8주간 글 없는 그림책 활동을 실시하였으며, 두 집단 모두 그림 표상능력과 사회성 발달 검사를 사전 사후에 실시하였다. 그 결과, 글 없는 그림책 활동이 유아의 그림 표상능력 하위 영역 중 다양한 색채, 세부적 묘사, 조화로운 공간 표상, 다양한 형체, 주제 관련 표상, 표상의 독특성, 그림 표상의 완성도, 언어 표상의 연결에 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 글 없는 그림책 활동이 유아의 사회성 발달 하위영역 중 협동성, 자율성, 또래 간 상호작용에서 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 글 없는 그림책 활동이 유아의 그림 표상능력과 사회성 발달에 효과적인 교수-학습 자료로 유아교육기관에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.
