  • Daylight responsive dimming system, which is always able to automatically maintain the target illuminance, is a energy strategic system. It is importance note that the photosensor depends how to be precisely indicated workplane illuminance at any location of indoor. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to find out the optimum location and spatial characteristics of photosensor by considering the correlation for the correct calibration of workplane illuminance and photosensor signal.

  • The most important role of photosensor is to measure on exact workplan illuminance of room when daylight responsive dimming systems are used. The shape of most optimal photosensor must be able to measure exact luminous flux without changing setting position corresponding to the change of room situations. That is, shape and positioning of optimal photosensor should be corresponded to the optimal luminous flux measurement.

  • The daylight responsive dimming system is an energy saving system that automatically controls lighting output of artificial lighting according to available daylight in inside, as well as keeps uniform workplace illuminance. The basic three components of the daylight responsive dimming system consist of a photosensor, a controller and a dimming ballast. This paper is a fundamental study of photosensor modeling for the daylight responsive dimming system. The correlation between photosensor illuminance on the ceiling and workplace illuminance is an important factor to accuracy of system performance, so that the purpose of this study is to improve accuracy for daylight responsive dimming system. This study performs to derive the optimized conditions of photosensor using the RADIANCE.

소규모 사무실에 적용된 조광제어 시스템의 최적제어를 위한 주광변화 분석 (Analyses on Daylight Variations for Optimum Controls of Daylight Dimming Systems in a Small Office)

  • The influence of outdoor sky conditions on photosensor signals were examined to determine an appropriate index that is effectively used for optimum illuminance fluctuation when a daylight dimming system is used for a small office. Field measurements were conducted under various sky conditions. Results indicate that the outdoor global and vertical illuminance fluctuated within narrow ranges under clear and overcast sky conditions. The fluctuation of sky ratio under partly-cloudy sky caused wide ranges of illumnance fluctuation. A partially-shielded photosensor at backwall produced 56% of light output from fixtures controlled by a photosensor at ceiling. This implies that the photosensor at backwall does not always guarantee target illuminance due to the less output. The fluctuation of light output from fixtures were insignificant under clear and overcast sky. The fluctuation range of photosensor illuminance under partly-cloudy sky caused wide fluctuation ranges of light output. Regression result implies that the outdoor vertical illuminance was recommended for an effective index that is used for control of light output.

  • 광센서 조광제어시스템은 실내로 유입되는 주광량에 따라 자동으로 광속량을 조절하여 설정조도를 유지시켜주는 에너지절약 시스템이다. 이 시스템의 성공여부를 결정하는 여러 요인들 중, 광센서의 측광값이 작업면 조도를 얼마나 정확히 나타내는가가 중요한 포인트가 된다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 실험을 통해 광센서의 여러 측광방향 형태를 결정하고, 각 측광방향별 광센서의 반응신호를 측정하였다. 그리고 광센서의 적절한 위치를 찾기 위해 실제공간에서 서로 다른 위치에 광센서를 설치하여, 작업면 조도와 광센서 반응신호의 관계를 측정하고 분석하였다. 분석된 결과를 토대로 광센서의 적절한 위치와 측광방향성을 제시하였다.

  • 대규모 사무소 건물에서 에너지 절약의 방안으로 조광제어시스템이 사용되고 있다. 광센서 조광제어시스템의 효율적인 구축을 위해 광센서의 형상에 관한 고려가 필요하다. 효율적인 광센서의 형상은 사무소 건물 재실의 다양한 변화에 대응하여 초기 설치위치의 변화 없이 유동적으로 작업면의 조도를 측정할 수 있어야 한다. 이 때 광센서 최적의 방향성과 위치를 고려하여 효율적인 광센서 형상이 디자인되어야 한다.

조광제어 시스템 적용시 실내조도의 변동예측을 위한 포토센서의 주광조도 분석 (Analyses on Photosensor Illuminance for Prediction of Fluctuating Illuminance by Daylight Dimming Control Systems)

  • This study examines the influence of fluctuating daylight illuminance on daylight dimming control systems. Field measurements were performed for a full-scale mocked-up model under various daylight conditions in winter. Fluctuating ranges for a partially-shielded photosensor were great when the variation of sky ratio was great. When solar altitude was lower the illuminance and fluctuating range of illuminance were great due to the influence of direct components of daylight and the interrefelction between surfaces in rear area of space. It implies that daylight dimming system would not function effectively, unless the desktop illuminance by daylight is enough. Fluctuation ranges of photosensor illuminance were lower than 50 lx under clear sky conditions, but they were greater than 100 lx under partly-cloudy sky conditions. It means that the fluctuation range of electric light output of lighting fixture would greater under the partly-cloudy conditions and cause potential visual annoyance to occupants. Outdoor vertical illuminance reaching the windows would be an effective factor that can be used to predict the fluctuation of photosensor signals for effective controls of daylight dimming system.

  • 본 연구는 실내로 유입되는 주광을 조광제어시스템의 적용에 효율적으로 활용하여 초과한 인공조명의 광량을 줄임으로써 에너지 절약의 효과를 높이고자 함이다. 광센서는 탐지된 광속량을 신호로 보내고 그에 알맞은 제어신호를 받아 조광율을 결정하는데, 일반적으로 사무공간에서 인공조명의 개수나 행수만큼 광센서가 설치가 되어 조명기구의 각 구역마다 다른 조광율로 조광제어를 하는 것이 인공조명 제어측면에서는 효율적이나, 시스템 설치비용측면에서는 비효율적이다. 그러므로 실험과 시뮬레이션을 통하여 미리 유입되는 주광 분포를 파악하고 조광율을 분석한다면, 하나의 광센서 설치로써 인공조명 구역간의 각기 다른 조광율로 제어가능하다.

알고리듬 변화에 따른 직/간접 조명시스템에 대한 디밍제어 효과분석 (Analysis on Dimming Control Effect by Algorithm Variation for Direct/Indirect Lighting in a Small Office)

  • This study examines the influence of control algorithms on dimming performance to determine appropriate control setting when direct/indirect lighting is controlled by a daylight dimming system. Computer simulation were performed for a small office with double skin envelope under various daylight conditions. A retractable fabric shading and Venetian blind were applied for internal and external envelopes under three CIE standard sky conditions. Unshielded and partially-shielded photosensors were used, and three control algorithms were applied for the sensors. In general, dimming level was too excessive due to the direct impact of light from lighting fixture to the photosensor. Providing insufficient lighting output, the unshielded photosensor completely failed to secure required illuminance under any daylight condition. When a partially-shielded photosensor was applied under clear sky, three setting points functioned effectively. Less sensitivity for the partially-shielded photosensor was effective to control the dimming system optimally with reasonable energy saving. However, the daylight dimming control system for direct/indirect lighting does not appear to be energy effective when photosensors without enough shielded area is installed on ceiling where light from fixtures reaches directly.

사무공간에서 효율적인 조광제어시스템 적용을 위한 주광분포 연구 (A study on daylight distributions for applying effective daylight responsive dimming systems in offices)

  • This study purposes to increase the energy-saving effects by reducing excessive intensity of radiation of artificial lighting through analyzing daylight incident A photosensor sends amounts of detected luminous flux to digital control unit(DCU) as a signal and then, it can decide dimming ratios, received a proper dimming signal from DCU. Generally it Is effective to control artificial lighting with the different control ratio of each row by setting a photosensor as same numbers and rows as artificial lighting. However, it is ineffective to do in initial costs of systems aspect in offices. As a result of grasping the distribution of daylight previously, we can dim different dimming ratios to each row of artificial lighting by a single photosensor.
