A Control of the ZVZCS PS-FB DC/DC Converter using All-Pass Filter (전역통과필터를 이용한 ZVZCS PS-FB DC/DC 컨버터의 제어)

  • High power density and power conversion efficiency have been required in the power converters according to the rapid growth of industry. In this context, the next generation High Speed Train(HST) requires power converter which has high-efficiency, high-performance and high-density. In this paper, the new control technique for battery charger used for the next generation HST is proposed. The phase shift ZVZCS converter is classified according to a resonant circuit which is located in the primary or secondary side. In this paper, The PWM switching technique using all-pass filter is proposed to control ZVZCS converter which has resonant circuit in the secondary side. ATmega_128 micro controller based in all-pass filter in substitute for phase shift IC is presented to have digital control. To verify the proposed topology, the simulation and experiment are performed by using PSIM software and 1[kW] experimental set-up.

  • Microwave integrated circuit phase shifters have undergone remarkable development to satisfy the fast and precise phase control requirements for phased array antennas. It is shown how relection type phase shift circuits using PIN diode can be analyzed and implemented so as to derve design equations for any phase shift. The reflection properties are achieved by the use of an impedance transforming two-port network and the virtual matching impedance method. Experimental and theoretical performance of 2-bit hybrid phase shifter designed by this method are found to be in good agreement for each bit.

Compact Dual-Band Three-Way Metamaterial Power-Divider with a Hybrid CRLH Phase-Shift Line

  • A compact dual-band three-way metamaterial power divider is proposed that has three in-phase outputs. Fully printed composite rightand left-handed (CRLH) unequal and equal power dividers are first implemented for 900-MHz and 2.4-GHz bands with the power-division ratios of 2:1 and 1:1, respectively. An initial 1:1:1 power divider is then achieved by incorporating the input of the two-way equal block into an output of the unequal block, and trimming the interconnection parameters. The condition of an identical phase at the three outputs of the power divider is then met by devising a hybrid CRLH phase-shift line to compensate for the different phase errors at the two frequencies. This scheme is confirmed by predicting the performance of the power divider with circuit analysis and full-wave simulation and measuring the fabricated prototype. They results show agreement; the in-phase outputs as well as the desirable power-division are accomplished and outdo the conventional techniques.

  • 기존 X-ray용 인버터의 경우, 일반적인 Full-bridge 인버터를 사용하여 낮은 효율이 발생하기 때문에 1.6kW이상의 고전압 출력을 요구하는 X-ray를 사용할 수 없는 문제점이 있다. 본 논문은 X-ray 구동용 인버터의 높은 출력이 가능한 고전압 출력용 ZVS Phase-Shift Full Bridge 인버터를 제안한다. 기존의 X-ray 구동용 인버터를 사용할 경우에는 낮은 효율 및 높은 출력 전압을 발생 시킬 수 없기 때문에 X-ray 발생이 어려우며, 높은 출력을 발생시키기 위해서는 회로의 전체적인 부피가 커지고 제작단가가 증가하는 단점이 있다. 반면 제안된 회로는 X-ray 구동용 ZVS Phase-Shift Full Bridge 인버터로써, 영전압 스위칭을 통해 높은 효율로 인버터 구동이 가능하고, 높은 출력 전압을 발생 시킬 수 있기 때문에 회로의 소형화 및 고출력 X-ray 발생이 가능한 장점을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 제안된 회로의 이론적인 특성을 분석하고 모의실험을 통해 확인하였으며, 1.6kW급 X-ray 구동 인버터 회로에 적용하여 실험을 통해 우수성을 검증하였다.

ZVS Operating Range Extension Method for High-Efficient High Frequency Linked ZVS-PWM DC-DC Power Converter

  • In this paper, a full bridge edge-resonant zero voltage mode based soft-switching PWM DC-DC power converter with a high frequency center tapped transformer link stage is presented from a practical point of view. The power MOSFETS operating as synchronous rectifier devices are implemented in the rectifier center tapped stage to reduce conduction power losses and also to extend the transformer primary side power MOSFETS ZVS commutation area from the rated to zero-load without a requirement of a magnetizing current. The steady-state operation of this phase-shift PWM controlled power converter is described in comparison with a conventional ZVS phase-shift PWM DC-DC converter using the diodes rectifier. Moreover, the experimental results of the switching power losses analysis are evaluated and discussed in this paper. The practical effectiveness of the ZVS phase-shift PWM DC-DC power converter treated here is actually proved by using 2.5kW-32kHz breadboard circuit. An actual efficiency of this converter is estimated in experiment and is achieved as 97$\%$ at maximum.

  • Generally, high frequency switching DC-DC converter that DC power supply for discharge lamp drive to generate ultraviolet rays(UV) is acted by hard switching mode is used. Therefore in this paper, wish to mix first existent first-side status phase shift PWM DC-DC converter and posing secondary-side status phase shift PWM DC-DC converter by high frequency link DC-DC converter that use soft switching circuit technology and develop DC power supply for discharge lamp drive. DC power supply driving Discharge lamp proposed describe validity through simulation and an experiment.

  • Conventional phase shift full bridge (PSFB) converter has serious voltage oscillation problem across the secondary rectifier diodes, which would require the dissipate snubber circuit, thus degrades the overall efficiency. To overcome this problem a new simple voltage oscillation reduction technique (VORT) which effectively reduce the voltage oscillation of the secondary rectifier diodes for phase shift full bridge converter is proposed. Therefore, no dissipate snubber for rectifier diodes is needed. In addition, since it has wide zero voltage switching (ZVS) range, high efficiency can be achieved. Operational principle, analysis of voltage oscillation, and design consideration are presented compare with that of the conventional PSFB converter. To confirm the validity of the proposed VORT, experimental results from a 420W prototype are presented.

An Optical Graphene-silicon Resonator Phase Shifter Suitable for Universal Linear Circuits

  • This paper describes the construction of a phase shifter with low loss and small volume. To construct it, we use the two graphene layers that are separated by a hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and embedded in a silicon waveguide. The refractive index of the waveguide is adjusted by applying a bias voltage to the graphene sheet to create an optical phase shift. This waveguide is a compact device that only has a radius of 5 ㎛. It has a phase shift of 6π. In addition, the extinction ratio (ER) is 11.6 dB and the insertion loss (IL) is 0.031 dB. Due to its unique characteristics, this device has great potential in silicon on-chip optical interconnection and all-optical multiple-input multiple-output processing.

  • The designing method of the reflection and the loaded-line phase shifter is presented. Its phase shift is variable with changing of the stub parameters. In this paper, we design the 2-bit phase shifter which have 10\ulcornerand 90\ulcornerbit phase shift and analysi its characteristics. The experiments show 2d B max.insertion loss, 2.0max. input VSWR and 6\ulcornerphase error on 2.9-3.1GHz frequency range. They agree well with the theoretical results.

  • Operating conditions of photovoltaic power generator is very sensitive to the PV modules. The PV module's control is an importance issue in the removing DC ripple noise. In this paper, the phase-shifted-carrier technique, which is a new three-step dc-dc power multi-converter schemes, is applied to solar generator system to improve the output current waveform. The novel type of three-step dc-dc converter presented has many features such as the good output waveform, high efficiency, low switching losses, low acoustic noise. The circuit configuration is constructed by the conventional full-bridge type converter circuit using the isolated DC power supply for which the solar cell is very suitable. In the end, a circuit design for understanding three-step dc-dc converter and new solar power system were presented
