The paper presents an algorithm for the compensation of gain and phase imbalances to exist between I-phase and Q-phase signal at direct conversion receiver. We propose a gain and phase imbalances blind equalization compensation algorithm by using variable step-size adaptive loop at direct conversion receiver. The blind equalization schemes have trade-off between convergence speed and jitter effect for the compensation of gain and phase imbalance. We propose the variable step-size adaptive loop method, which varies the loop coefficients according to errors, for recovering these problem. By using variable step-size adaptive loops, we propose to speed up the convergence process and reduce the jitter effect and simulation results show that the algorithm compensates signal loss and speeds up convergence time.
In this paper, we proposed the frequency offset compensation algorithm and tracking algorithm which could improve the accumulated phase error for HDR-WPAN system. The proposed frequency offset compensation technique estimated each sample phase error by autocorrelation characteristics of CAZAC sequence, estimated phase error multiple each sample in a symbol, and finally compensated for the frequency offset. After frequency offset compensation using two steps, coarse and fine frequency offset, tracking algorithm have to use to compensate for the accumulated phase error. Because there is no pilot symbol in payload, more phase rotation occurred in received signal constellations due to the accumulated phase error as the payload length increase. Tracking algorithm compensates for a cumulative phase error ${\theta}$ between payload data.

Conventional single-phase series quasi Z-source voltage compensator can not compensate for voltage sag less than 50% that frequently occurs in the industrial field. In this study, single-phase series quasi Z-source voltage sag-swell compensator which can compensate the voltage variation of entire range is proposed. The proposed system is composed of two quasi Z-source AC-AC converters connected in series with output terminal stage. Voltage sag less than 50% could be compensated by the intersection switching control of the upper converter duty ratio and of the upper converter duty ratio. Also the compensation voltage and its flowchart for each compensation mode are presented for entire sag-swell region. To confirm the validity of the proposed system, a DSP(DSP28335) controlled experimental system was manufactured. As a result, the proposed system could compensate for the voltage sag/swell of 20% and 60%. Finally, voltage compensation factor and THD(Total Harmonic Distortion) according to voltage variation and load change were measured, and voltage quality shows a good results.

This paper proposes a design method of fuzzy phase-lead compensator and its self-learning by neural network. The main feature of the fuzzy phase-lead compensator is to have parameters for effectively compensating phase characteristics of control systems. An important theorem which is related to phase-lead compensation is derived by introducing concept of frequency characteristics. We propose a design procedure of fuzzy phase-lead compensators for linear controlled objects. Furthermore, we realize a neuro-fuzzy compensator for unknown or nonlinear controlled objects by using Widrow-Hoff learning rule.
This paper describes a phase compensation technique for the low power consumption OTA. Power consumption of the low power OTA is lower than that of the conventional Wang's OTA. However. this circuit has an oscillation problem. The phase margin is -24deg. By using the phase compensation capacitor, the phase margin becomes 52deg. As a result, the low power consumption OTA circuit becomes to have an enough phase margin and to operate stably.
This paper proposes a compensation PWM technique for the extension of output voltage ranges in three-phase VSI applications using three shunt resistors. The proposed technique aims to solve the dead zone, which occurs in high modulation indexes. In the dead zone, two phase currents cannot be sampled correctly, so that the three-phase VSI cannot be operated up to the maximum output voltage. The dead zone is analyzed in detail, and the compensation PWM algorithm is developed. The proposed algorithm is verified by numerical analysis and experimental results.

This paper proposes a novel and direct dead-time compensation method of the 3-phase inverter using space vector pulse width modulation(SVPWM) topology. The proposed dead-time compensation method directly compensates the dead-time to the turn-on time of the effective voltage vector according to the current direction of the medium voltage reference. Each phase voltages are determined by the switching times of the effective voltage vectors, and the practical switching times have loss according to the current direction by the dead-time effect in the 3-phase inverter. The proposed method adds the dead-time to the switching time of the effective voltage vector according to the current direction, so it does not require complex d-q transform and controller to compensate the voltage error. The proposed dead-time compensation scheme is verified by the computer simulation and experiments of 3-phase R-L load.

This paper proposes a current compensation method of a three phase PWM converter. The phase angle of utility voltage is essential to control a PWM converter. In the case of using synchronous reference frame PLL to detect the phase angle of the distorted source, harmonics of source voltage cause the phase angle to be distorted. PWM converter control by the distorted phase angle results in input current harmonics. This paper proposes a current compensation method which can limit THD of Input currents below to 5% that is the harmonic current requirements by IEEE std. 519. Its validity is verified by simulation and experiment.

In this paper, we investigated the method of compensation for optical pulse shape distortion due to both chromatic dispersion and SPM(self phase modulation) in a single mode fiber We selected MSSI(mid-span spectral inversion) as compensation method using OPC(optical phase conjugator). We used EOP(eye-opening penalty) parameter in order to evaluate the efficiency of waveform distortion compensation. In this paper, we induced optimum pump power level in optical phase conjugator through analytic method of computer simulation. And we investigated input signal power range being able to maintain stable reception performance under the condition of optimum pump power. We verified the possibility of high performance optical transmission system realization through the inducement and application of optimum pump power, input signal power and in-line amplifier spacing, because power control is important in the compensation for optical pulse distortion.

In this paper, a prediction and compensation method for the error in the phase measured by using the proportionality between two wavelengths in the TW-PMP (Two-wavelength Phase Measuring Profilometry) is proposed and experimental results are shown to verify the usefulness of the proposed method. For sample object, firstly, a phase-shifting with a quite large number of steps is adopted in measurement, compared with the conventional phase-shifting method, secondly, a 3-3 step phase-shifting method is used to measure the same object which is applied to high-speed 3D shape measurement, and then, measured results from these two phase-shifting methods are compared to calculate measurement noises. From the experimental results applying the proposed compensation method to the measured beat phase and absolute phase, it has proven that noises are decreased by 90% and 17.2% for each case.
