DDS Driven PLL 구조 주파수 합성기의 위상 잡음 분석 (Analysis of Phase Noise in Frequency Synthesizer with DDS Driven PLL Architecture)

  • 본 논문에서는 빠른 천이 시간 및 고해상도 특성을 동시에 만족하기 위해 주로 사용되는 DDS Driven PLL 구조 주파수 합성기의 위상 잡음 분석을 위한 모델링 방안을 제안하였다. 기준 주파수 발진기(reference oscillator) 및 전압 제어 발진기(VCO: Voltage Controlled Oscillator)는 Leeson 모델을 적용하여 측정 데이터를 근사하는 방법을 사용하였고, DDS 칩의 위상 잡음원은 DAC(Digital to Analog Converter) 동작에 근사하여 모델링하였다. PLL의 위상 잡음은 디지털 분주기의 위상 잡음원으로 근사하여 모델링하였으며, 특히 저역 통과 필터(low pass filter)의 각 소자들의 위상 잡음은 전압 제어 발진기의 위상 잡음과 함께 고려하는 방법을 제안하였다. 모델링된 각 잡음 원들을 선형 시스템 영역에서 중첩의 원리를 이용하여 분석함으로써 주파수 합성기 출력의 위상잡음 분포를 예측하였고, 그 결과를 제작된 주파수 합성기의 측정 결과와 비교 평가하였다.

  • This research proposes a high-frequency circuit that can accurately predict the differential mode noise of single-phase inverters at the circuit design stage. Proposed single-phase inverter high frequency circuit in the work is a form in which harmonic impedance components are added to the basic single-phase inverter circuit configuration. For accurate noise prediction, parasitic components present in each part of the differential noise path were extracted. Impedance was extracted using a network analyzer and Q3D in the measurement range of 150 kHz to 30 MHz. A high-frequency circuit model was completed by applying the measured values. Simulations and experiments were conducted to confirm the validity of the high-frequency circuit. As a result, we were able to predict the resonance point of the differential mode voltage extracted as an experimental value with a high-frequency circuit model within an approximately 10% error. Through this outcome, we could verify that differential mode noise can be accurately predicted using the proposed model of the high-frequency circuit without a separate test bench for noise measurement.

  • Accurate prediction of the radiated noise is important to reduce the noise of the washing machine. It is also necessary to predict the excitation force accurately because excitation force can induce noise. In order to predict the excitation force acting on the washing machine, this paper conducts source identification method by use of phase reference spectrum. In this method, the transfer function between the cabinet and the motor through FEM and the measured response from the surface of the cabinet is used. The analysis of the radiation noise from the identified exciting force has been investigated. The comparison between the predicted SPL and the measured SPL at 1m apart from the front side of the washing machine showed good tendency.

  • Acoustic radiation efficiency is one of the important factors in the prediction of underwater radiated noise of ships. A ship has much equipment to operate successful mission in a ship. Most of equipment is running simultaneously as multi-excitation and becomes the source of underwater radiated noise. In many cases of multi-excitation, phase difference between multi-excitation is not considered. Because vibration response under multi-excitation is the vector sum of each single excitation, acoustic radiation efficiency based on surface velocity field can be affected by phase of excitation. In this study, acoustic radiation efficiency of a plate on air and a stiffened cylindrical model in water under multi-excitation with phase difference is investigated.

DAC를 적용한 DDS Driven Offset PLL모델링 및 설계 (Design and Modeling of a DDS Driven Offset PLL with DAC)

  • 본 논문은 레이더 시스템에 적용되는 고성능 PLL 주파수 합성기를 설계하고, 그 성능을 분석하였다. 소형화제작을 위해 PLL 간접합성방식을 적용하였으며, 광대역특성에서 우수한 위상잡음과 고속의 주파수합성시간을 갖기 위해 offset 방식의 PLL에 DDS를 기준신호로 설계 하였다. 또한, offset PLL에서 고속의 주파수 변환을 위해 DAC를 이용하여 coarse tune을 적용하였다. 이러한 구조에서의 성능 예측을 위해 각각의 잡음원에 대해 모델링을 적용하여 출력위상잡음을 예측하였으며, 제작결과와 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 simulation과 측정결과가 일치함을 확인하였으며, 100KHz 옵셋 주파수에서 -126dBc/Hz의 우수한 위상잡음 특성과 10usec 이내의 고속의 주파수변환시간을 갖는 항공기용 레이더 주파수합성기를 설계하였다.

엔진 가진력의 감도해석을 이용한 차실 소음 저감에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Noise Reduction of Compartment of Vehicle Using Sensitivity Analysis of Engine Exciting Force)

  • Vehicle interior noise has become increasingly important in this recent years. The noise of a vehicle is one of the important problems in a vehicle design. The interior noise is caused by various vibration sources of vehicle compartment. The booming noise of a vehicle can be significantly affected by vibrations transmitted from engine excitation forces to the vehicle body. Specially, we are interested in the state of transmission paths such as engine mounts to reduce noise in a vehicle compartment. In this paper, we have been calculated the contribution of each transmission path such as engine mounts to interior noise. To identify contribution of each input sources and transmission paths to output, the effectiveness of each input component to output is calculated. Sensitivity analysis is carried out for investigation of contribution to output due to input variations. With the simulation of magnitude and phase change of inputs using vector synthesis diagram, the trends of synthesized output vector are obtained. As a result, we suggested sensitivity analysis of vector synthesis as a technique of prediction and control for noise in a vehicle compartment.

  • An analytical study is presented on the hydroelastic vibration of two rectangular identical plates coupled with a bounded fluid by using the finite Fourier series expansion method. It is observed that the two contrastive modes, the so called the out-of-phase and in-phase modes appear. The proposed analytical method is verified by observing a good agreement to three dimensional finite element analysis results. All natural frequency of the in-phase modes can be predicted well by the combination of the dry beam modes. The theoretical prediction for the out-of-phase mode can be improved by using the polynomial functions satisfying the plate boundary conditions and fluid volume conservation instead of using dry beam modes.

Improved Single-Tone Frequency Estimation by Averaging and Weighted Linear Prediction

  • This paper addresses estimating the frequency of a cisoid in the presence of white Gaussian noise, which has numerous applications in communications, radar, sonar, and instrumentation and measurement. Due to the nonlinear nature of the frequency estimation problem, there is threshold effect, that is, large error estimates or outliers will occur at sufficiently low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions. Utilizing the ideas of averaging to increase SNR and weighted linear prediction, an optimal frequency estimator with smaller threshold SNR is developed. Computer simulations are included to compare its mean square error performance with that of the maximum likelihood (ML) estimator, improved weighted phase averager, generalized weighted linear predictor, and single weighted sample correlator as well as Cramer-Rao lower bound. In particular, with smaller computational requirement, the proposed estimator can achieve the same threshold and estimation performance of the ML method.

단거리 기상 레이다에서의 위상 잡음 영향 분석 (Analysis of Phase Noise Effects in a Short Range Weather Radar)

  • 국지적인 기상 이변이나 강우 현상 등을 분석하고 예보하기 위해서는 지역별로 저고도 탐색이 가능한 다수의 단거리 기상 레이다들이 필요하다. 그러나 이러한 레이다들의 특성인 낮은 고각의 전자파 빔 때문에 지표면 클러터가 기상 신호를 심하게 오염시킬 가능성이 매우 높다. 그러므로 이러한 문제를 완화시키기 위하여 일반적으로 도플러 저주파 대역 차단 필터를 사용하게 된다. 그러나 레이다 시스템에서의 위상잡음은 이러한 강력한 클러터의 제거를 제한시킬 수 있으며 잔존하는 클러터로 인하여 기상 파라미터 추정에 심각한 문제를 야기할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 레이다의 시스템 위상 잡음 특성을 분석하고 이러한 위상 잡음이 강력한 클러터가 존재하는 환경, 즉 단거리, 저고도 기상레이다에서의 SCR(signal to clutter ratio) 개선 정도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다.
