디지털 위상 고정 루프를 이용한 계전기용 주파수 측정 장치 (Frequency Relay for a Power System Using the Digital Phase Locked Loop)

  • 전력 계통에서 안정한 전력을 공급하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 전력 계통의 오류는 전압 및 주파수를 감시함으로써 검출 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 디지털 위상 고정 루프를 이용한 전력 계통의 주파수 측정 장치를 제안하고 이를 구현한 결과를 제시하고자 한다. 제안한 주파수 측정 장치는 위상 고정 루프의 기본요소로 구성된다. 위상분별기는 배타적 논리연산을 통해 위상오차를 검출하고 위상의 앞섬 및 뒤짐의 검출이 가능하도록 설계하였으며, 전력 계통의 주파수 동특성을 고려해서 3차의 루프 필터를 설계하였다. DCO는 출력 주파수의 분해능을 고려하여 입력 신호를 정확하게 추정할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 제안한 주파수 측정 장치의 성능을 검증하기 위하여 모의실험을 통해 주파수 변동량의 측정 범위 및 정확도를 검토하였으며, FPGA와 CPU를 포함하는 하드웨어를 구현하였다. FPGA에는 Verilog HDL로 디지털 위상 고정 루프의 위상분별기와 DCO를 구현하였으며 루프필터는 소프트웨어로 구현하였다. 제안한 디지털 위상 고정 루프의 성능 검증을 위해 정밀한 함수 발생기의 출력을 인가한 후 출력 주파수를 측정한 결과 및 전력 계통에 대한 실험 결과를 제시하였다.

무급유식 공기압축기 구동을 위한 영구자석 동기 모터의 센서리스 속도제어 (Sensor-less Speed Control of PMSM for Driving Oil-free Air Compressor)

  • This paper suggests the sensor-less speed control of PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) without the position sensor of oil-free air compressor. It estimated d and q axis back electro motive force using Back-EMF (Electro motive Force) observer to control sensor-less speed of PMSM. Also it used the method that tracks the information of rotor position and speed using PLL (Phase Locked Loop) based on estimated d and q axis Back-EMF. The sensor-less speed control of PMSM for oil air compressor application is carried out with the introduced rotor position and speed tracking method. In this paper, the experimental characterization of the sensor-less drive is provided to verify the accuracy of the estimated position and the performance of sensor-less control is analyzed by results obtained from the experiment. Moreover, the potential of PMSM sensor-less drive in industrial application such as compressor drive is also examined.

A New Start-up Method for a Load Commutated Inverter for Large Synchronous Generator of Gas-Turbine

  • This paper proposes a new start-up method for a load commutated inverter (LCI) in a large synchronous gas-turbine generator. The initial rotor position for start-up torque is detected by the proposed initial angle detector, which consists of an integrator and a phase-locked loop. The initial rotor position is accurately detected within 150ms, and the angle difference between the real position and the detected position is less than 1%. The LCI system operates in two modes (forced commutation mode and natural commutation mode) according to operating speed range. The proposed controllers include a forced commutation controller for the low-speed range, a PI speed controller and a PI current controller, where the forced commutation controller is connected to the current controller in parallel. The current controller is modeled by Matlab/Simulink, where a six-pulse delay of the thyristor and a processing delay are considered by using a zero-order hold. The performance of the proposed start-up method is evaluated in Matlab/Psim at standstill and at low speed. To verify the feasibility of the method, a 5kVA LCI system prototype is implemented, and the proposed initial angle detector and the system performance are confirmed by experimental results from standstill to 900rpm.

동기기를 사용한 계통연계형 가변속 풍력발전 시스템의 AC-DC-AC 컨버터 구현 및 제어 (Implementation and Control of AC-DC-AC Power Converter in a Grid-Connected Variable Speed Wind Turbine System with Synchronous Generator)

  • A 30kW electrical power conversion system is developed for a variable speed wind turbine. In the wind energy conversion system(WECS) a synchronous generator with field current excitation converts the mechanical energy into electrical energy. As the voltage and the frequency of the generator output vary according to the wind speed, a 6-bridge diode rectifier and a PWM boost chopper is utilized as an ac-dc converter maintaining the constant dc-link voltage with only single switch control. An input current control algorithm for maximum power generation during the variable speed operation is proposed without any usage of speed sensor. Grid connection type PWM inverter converts dc input power to ac output currents into the grid. The active power to the grid is controlled by q-axis current and the reactive power is controlled by d-axis current with appropriate decoupling. The phase angle of utility voltage is detected using software PLL(Phased Locked Loop) in d-q synchronous reference frame. Experimental results from the test of 30kW prototype wind turbine system show that the generator power can be controlled effectively during the variable speed operation without any speed sensor.

엔진발전기와 연계된 BESS의 무순단 모드 전환 기법 (Seamless Transfer Method of BESS Connected by Engine Generator)

  • In remote islands PV (Photo Voltaic) panel with BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) supplies electric power to the customers in parallel operation with EG (Engine Generator) to save fuel consumption and to mitigate environmental load. BESS operates in voltage control mode when it supplies power to the load alone, while it operates in current control mode when it supplies power to the load in parallel with EG. This paper proposes a smooth mode change scheme from current control to voltage control of BESS by adding proper initial value to the integral part of voltage control, and a smooth mode change scheme from voltage control to current control by tracking the EG output voltage to the BESS output voltage using PLL (Phase-Locked Loop). The feasibility of proposed schemes was verified through computer simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC, and the feasibility of actual hardware system was verified by experiments with scaled prototype. It was confirmed that the proposed schemes offer a seamless operation in the stand-alone power system in remote islands.

  • As photovoltaic(PV) power generation systems become more common, it will be necessary to investigate islanding detection method for PV systems. Islanding of PV systems can cause a variety of problems and must be prevented. However, if the real and reactive power of load and PV system are closely matched, islanding detection by passive methods becomes difficult. Also, most active methods lose effectiveness when there are several PV systems feeding the same island. The active frequency drift positive feedback method(AFDPF) enables islanding detection by forcing the frequency of the voltage in the island to drift up or down. In this paper the research for the minimum value of chopping fraction gain applied digital phase-locked-loop(DPLL) to AFDPF considering output power quality and islanding prevention performance are performed by simulation and experiment in IEEE Std 929-2000 islanding test.

RTL-SDR을 이용한 스테레오 주파수 변조 방송의 실시간 수신기 구현 (Implementation of Real-time Stereo Frequency Demodulator Using RTL-SDR)

  • 주파수 변조 방식의 방송 주파수에 동조되는 안테나와 Realtek 사(社)의 RTL2832 칩을 이용하는 디지털 TV용 튜너와 아날로그-디지털 변환기로 구성되는 universal serial bus (USB) 동글을 이용하여 스테레오 주파수 변조 방송의 실시간 수신기를 컴퓨터의 소프트웨어로 구현한다. 아날로그 방송 신호가 USB 동글에서 디지털 신호로 변환되고 이진 데이터를 컴퓨터에서 매트랩 및 파이선 프로그래밍 언어의 신호처리 기법을 이용하여 저역 통과 필터, 대역 통과 필터, 주파수 판별기, 양측파대 진폭 복조, 위상 고정 루프. 샘플링 변환, 디앰퍼시스 등의 기능 블록을 설계한다. 최종적으로 수신기의 실시간 구현을 위하여 파이선 및 C++로 구성되는 그누라디오 (GNU Radio)를 이용하여 수신기 알고리즘을 소프트웨어로 구현한다.

Voltage Balance Control of Cascaded H-Bridge Rectifier-Based Solid-State Transformer with Vector Refactoring Technology in αβ Frame

  • For a solid-state transformer (SST), some factors, such as signal delay, switching loss and differences in the system parameters, lead to unbalanced DC-link voltages among the cascaded H-bridges (CHB). With a control method implemented in the ${\alpha}{\beta}$ frame, the DC-link voltages are balanced, and the reactive power is equally distributed among all of the H-bridges. Based on the ${\alpha}{\beta}$ frame control, the system can achieve independent active current and reactive current control. In addition, the control method of the high-voltage stage is easy to implement without decoupling or a phase-locked loop. Furthermore, the method can eliminate additional current delays during transients and get the dynamic response rapidly without an imaginary current component. In order to carry out the controller design, the vector refactoring relations that are used to balance DC-link voltages are derived. Different strategies are discussed and simulated under the unbalanced load condition. Finally, a three-cell CHB rectifier is constructed to conduct further research, and the steady and transient experimental results verify the effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method.

Sparse decision feedback equalization for underwater acoustic channel based on minimum symbol error rate

  • Underwater Acoustic Channels (UAC) have inherent sparse characteristics. The traditional adaptive equalization techniques do not utilize this feature to improve the performance. In this paper we consider the Variable Adaptive Subgradient Projection (V-ASPM) method to derive a new sparse equalization algorithm based on the Minimum Symbol Error Rate (MSER) criterion. Compared with the original MSER algorithm, our proposed scheme adds sparse matrix to the iterative formula, which can assign independent step-sizes to the equalizer taps. How to obtain such proper sparse matrix is also analyzed. On this basis, the selection scheme of the sparse matrix is obtained by combining the variable step-sizes and equalizer sparsity measure. We call the new algorithm Sparse-Control Proportional-MSER (SC-PMSER) equalizer. Finally, the proposed SC-PMSER equalizer is embedded into a turbo receiver, which perform turbo decoding, Digital Phase-Locked Loop (DPLL), time-reversal receiving and multi-reception diversity. Simulation and real-field experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has better performance in convergence speed and Bit Error Rate (BER).

열차의 정위치 정차용 주파수의 PWM 생성 알고리즘과 시스템 구현 (Implementation algorithm and system for generating PWM frequency for berthing the train at station)

  • 일반적으로 정밀하고 안정적인 주파수 합성 방법으로 PLL이나 DDS가 주로 사용된다. 안정적인 동작을 위하여 FPGA를 사용하여 PWM 주파수 발생 알고리즘을 설계하고 구현하였다. 이는 목표한 주파수의 8,192배의 주파수를 만든 후 D 플립플롭을 13회 진행하여 1Hz 단위의 정밀도로 다수의 주파수를 발생시킬 수 있도록 하는 알고리즘이며 고안된 알고리즘을 이용하여 열차의 정위치 정차용 버싱 시스템에 적용한 제품을 개발하여 기존 운영시스템과 교체 시험을 하여 주파수 발생의 정확도 측면에서 성능의 우수함을 확인하였다.
