  • This paper propose a method to detect the rotor position of IPMSM(Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor) at standstill without a position sensor. The proposed method is based on current variation caused by the magnetic saturation of stator core as rotor position. By choosing an appropriate voltage vector and applying it to phase winding, it enables the algorithm to discern between a north pole and south pole, and subsequently estimates an absolute position. This method dose not depend on the model of the motor and the motor parameter.

  • This paper deals with dynamic analysis of linear switched reluctance motor considering electromagnetic characteristics. First, inductance profile of linear switched reluctance motor calculate at align and unalign position and phase resistance using analytical method. Analytical method of this paper used space harmonics method, also, analysis result compares with data that is derived through an finite element method, and proved validity. In dynamic simulation of linear switched reluctance, we analyzed dynamic characteristic of linear switched reluctance motor according to single pulse waveform and hard chopping voltage PWM.

  • The E-Core Transverse Flux Machine is a different design of transverse flux machines combined with reluctance principle. Determination of the rotor position is important for the movement of the ETFM by switching the phase currents in synchronism with the inductance regions of the stator windings. It is the first time that rotor position estimation based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is purposed to eliminate the position sensor for the ETFM. Simulation and experimental tests are demonstrated for the feasibility of the proposed estimation algorithm for the exercise bike application of the ETFM.

  • A new transformer winding method is proposed in this paper. Generally, PWM ZVS topologies use a leakage inductor to achieve ZVS operation. However, the leakage inductance of the transformer is not often enough to meet ZVS condition. Therefore, an additional leakage inductor is necessary, which causes large core loss because high input voltage is applied to the additional leakage inductor during a short commutation period. In this paper, a new separated leakage inductor winding (SLW) method is proposed. With the proposed winding method, a leakage inductor and a transformer can be combined in one ferrite core. Therefore, size and core loss of the additional leakage inductor can be reduced. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed winding method can achieve a significant efficiency improvement in a 1210.8W (12V, 100.9A) prototype converter.

  • This paper describes the current characteristics of outage generator for microgrid in outage mode operation. The outage can be generated with 3-phase voltage disturbance generator. The STS current becomes very huge during the first cycle of the outage, and the magnitude of the current depends on the time impedance, series transformer leakage inductance, interfacing reactor of PCS, and the maximum allowable PCS output current. The current and load voltage waveform are analysed through simulation.

  • The measurement system of ground impedance is based on a computer aided technique. The magnitude and phase of ground impedance were determined by the novel measurement and analysis using the revised fall-of-potential method. The ground impedances of the ground rod of 30 m long are considerably dependent on the frequency. The ground impedance is mainly resistive in the frequency range of 3-20 kHz. At higher frequencies, the reactive components of the ground impedances are no longer negligible and the inductance of the ground rod was found to be the core factor deciding the ground impedance.

  • A constant V/F control system of voltage contrlled PWM inverter has a unstable operation of the low- speed and the light-load. In this paper, the authors propose stability control with idealized operation of induction motor by the neglect of primary leakage inductance and resistance. Also ldealized operation system is adopted voltage error, feed back impedance circuit, and increasing resistance from dead time of switching is compensated by the soft ware with u-processors. The proposed simulation of the idealized control method is proved at the low-speed operation for three phase induction motor.

공극 변류기의 2차 전류 보상 (Compensation for the Secondary Current of an Air-gapped Current Transformer)

  • An air-gapped current transformer(CT) has been used to reduce a remanent flux in the core, particularly in the case of auto-reclosure. However, it causes larger transient, ratio and phase errors than the iron-cored CT because of the small magnetizing inductance. This paper proposes a compensation algorithm for the secondary current of the air-gapped CT during the fault conditions including auto-reclosure as well as in the steady-state. The core flux is calculated from the measured secondary current of the CT and inserted into the hysteresis loop to estimate the exciting current. Finally, the correct current is estimated by adding the measured secondary current to the estimated exciting current. Various test results clearly indicate that the proposed compensating algorithm can improve the accuracy of the air-gapped CT significantly and reduce the required core cross-section of the air-gapped CT significantly.

  • We have developed the absolute evaluation technique of capacitor and inductor by measuring the phase displacement as a function of resistance of employed resistors in voltage transformer(VT) comparator. The methods were applied to the capacitor with the range of 100 nF - $5{\mu}F$ and the inductor with the range of $100{\mu}H{\sim}1\;H$. The capacitance values of capacitor obtained using our method are consistent within the expanded uncertainty those obtained using capacitor bridge. The inductance values of inductor obtained using our method are also consistent within the expanded uncertainty those obtained using LCR meter.

  • This paper deals with characteristic analysis of Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) according to switching condition. When approved current in each phase by decided position, we made sure current and voltage according to turn-on, turn-off. In dynamic simulation of LSRM, through an experiment, we decided turn-on position of inductance profile. Also, we presented dynamic characteristic analysis model which is consisted at motor and sensor signal part, etc., and substitute circuit constant that get using magnetic equivalent circuit method, we confirmed current and voltage waveform.
