한국의 '정(情)'과 일본의 '아마에(甘え)'에 대한 인지적 고찰 (A Cognitive Study on Jeong in Korean and Amae in Japanese)

  • Since Takeo Toi's discussion in The Anatomy of Dependence (1973), the concept of amae has generated considerable interest in the fields of psychology, anthropology, communication and other fields. However, there have been few agreements on the definition and functions of amae (Behrens, 2004). Furthermore, it has rarely drawn interest from linguists in general and has rarely been discussed in the context of social interaction. This study aims to examine the concept of amae in Japanese and the corresponding phenomena in Korean, and attempts to explore the similarities and differences between them. The prototype of the amae relationship is the mother-infant relationship (Doi,1973). Even an adult can assume the role of a baby, showing his or her need for dependence on others and expecting to be accepted. It turns out that amae-like phenomena frequently occur in everyday life in Korea as well (Lee, 1982). There is no single term for the concept, but it can be translated in many different ways in Korean, for example, aykyo, ayang, ungsek, erikwang, etc. It can have either positive or negative connotations depending on the situation. It seems that the psychological system that causes dependent behaviors such as ungsek in Korea is cheong, one of the key terms characterizing the Korean culture. Cheong, like amae, starts in the mother-infant relationship extending to familial and to other relationships. A corpus-based analysis shows that cheong is conceptualized as gluing people together, growing over time, and also potentially fatal because it assumes illogical, uncalculated, and personal relationships. In conclusion, unlike some Japanese scholars' claim that amae is the Japanese concept that exists only in Japan, it seems that similar phenomena do exist in Korea as well, but that Korean has no single term corresponding to amae in Japanese. It seems that cheong can be posited in Korean as the inner emotional system that makes amae-like behaviors possible, and that there is not single term, but many, designating the behaviors, possibly because the behaviors have a negative connotation and are not encouraged in Korean society.

양육시설 아동을 위한 보편적 긍정적 행동지원 모형개발 (Development of Positive Behavior Support Model for Children in Child Care Institution)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 양육시설 아동을 위한 보편적 긍정적 행동지원 모형을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 55명의 양육시설 종사자 직원을 대상으로 PBS에 관한 요구도를 조사한 결과, 응답자의 76%가 문제행동 예방에 PBS가 필요하며, 인성교육의 대안이라고 응답하였고, 70% 정도가 시설에서 PBS를 운영해 볼 생각이 있다고 응답하였다. 구체적인 모형을 구성해보면, 준비단계에서는 PBS 팀 구성 및 직원교육, 기대행동선정, 현재 행동의 기초선 측정, 보편적 PBS환경을 구축하기를 제안한다. 실행단계에서는 사회적 기술교수, 강화실시하기, 자기행동 목표정하기와 행동점검, 문제행동학생지도, 모니터링 방안을 포함한다. 마지막으로 중재/전-후-유지기 간의 목표행동 변화측정, 사회기술 및 학업성취도 변화, 사회적 타당도 등을 측정하는 효과평가단계를 제안한다. 이 모형을 양육시설 아동들을 대상으로 적용함으로써 문제행동의 감소, 바람직한 행동의 증진과 동시에 아동들을 지도하는 종사자들의 효능감도 향상시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

청소년의 그릿에 미치는 요인에 관한 연구: 개인요인, 부모요인, 학교요인을 중심으로 (A Study on Factors Affecting Adolescent's Grit: Individual Factor, Parent Factor, School Factor)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 개인요인과 부모요인, 학교요인이 그릿 간의 관계를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 한국아동·청소년 패널조사(KCYPS 2018)자료를 활용하여 중학교 1학년 학생 2,394명을 표본으로 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년의 개인요인인 자아존중감과 주의집중은 그릿에 유의미한 영향이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 청소년의 부모요인인 거부, 강요, 비일관성은 그릿에 유의미한 영향이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 학교요인인 교사관계는 그릿에 유의미한 영향이 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 분석결과를 토대로 청소년기에 그릿에 미치는 요인들을 예측하여 후속연구에 제언하였다.

Specialists' Views Concerning the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS) in Associations for Children with Disabilities in Saudi Arabia

  • To support early intervention, it is necessary to develop programming system tools that enable accurate, valid, and reliable assessments and can help achieve reasonable, generalizable, and measurable goals. This study examined the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System (AEPS) used by associations of children with disabilities in Saudi Arabia to assess its suitability for children with intellectual disabilities. A group of 16 specialists with different professional backgrounds (including special education, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and psychology) from 11 associations of children with disabilities took part in semi-structured personal interviews. The study concluded that AEPS is generally suited for use with children with intellectual disabilities. However, its suitability depends on the type and severity of the child's disability. The more severe the disability, the less effective the AEPS is likely to be. On the basis of this finding the researchers formed interdisciplinary teams to organise and integrate the children's learning and assess the benefits of AEPS, including its accuracy and ability to achieve adaptive, cognitive, and social targets, enhance family engagement and learning and develop basic development skills. This study also identified obstacles associated with the use of AEPS. These include the lack of comprehensiveness and accuracy of the goal, lack of precision and non-applicability to large movements and the fact that it cannot be used with all children with intellectual disabilities. In addition, the research showed that non-cooperation within the family is a major obstacle to the implementation of the AEPS. The results of this study have several implications.

The Significance of Professional Subjectivity of a Specialist in Taking into Account Educational and Civilizational Changes in the Information Society

  • A forecast foresight of the conditions for the development of educational affairs in the Information Society of Ukraine is presented, taking into account changes in the technique, technologies, and the socio-social sphere. Unresolved problems in Ukraine regarding the modernization and improvement of the education system by means of informatization are highlighted. The need for further improvement of Ukrainian education by means of informatization is noted. Formulated the main goal of future education. The necessary conditions for the successful development of future education are highlighted. The role and place of the key figure of the teacher in the education of the future is determined. The article highlights the theoretical and philosophical foundations of professional subjectivity of the future specialist. Recently, the world's pedagogical thought has increasingly focused on how to build an educational process so that it brings a sense of happiness to all its participants. It is believed that this is a new management philosophy in general, although its origins are in ancient Greek sources, which claim that only a happy life has meaning and value. It is found out that the professional subjectivity of a specialist is an important professionally significant quality of the individual, which provides a purposeful and optimal implementation of their mental, personal resources for solving professional and life problems, which is manifested in the desire for self-definition, self-determination, self-regulation and self-improvement in professional activities taking into account the information society. The structure of this phenomenon is shown.

고등학생의 대학 생활과학전공 진로탐색 프로그램 개발을 위한 교육요구 조사: 전문가 및 고등학생을 대상으로 (Educational Needs for the Development of a Career Exploration Program for Human Ecology Majors for High School Students: A Survey Targeting Experts and High School Students)

  • As human life and welfare become more valued in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, the role and mission of human ecology are expanding. Therefore, a career exploration and education program for high school students covering all the academic fields of human ecology may be necessary. To investigate what would be needed to develop such a program, a focus group interview (FGI) targeting experts within the same field and a survey targeting high school students were conducted. As a result of the FGI, a total of 3 categories and 7 subcategories were identified. The three categories included "human ecology and high school education," "human ecology and career choices," and "education program development and management in human ecology." The results of the high schoolers' survey showed that they had a moderate level of awareness about careers related to human ecology majors, but their interests and known information about human ecology programs in universities were low. Within the sub-content of each major, the contents with the highest educational needs were fashion product management, nutrition by disease, housing market analysis, personal financial management, and children's rights and welfare. If a career exploration and education program is implemented in the future, the most preferred type is a mentoring program by professors, students, and graduates in the field of human ecology. In conclusion, it is necessary to develop and implement an integrative education program about human ecology majors based on the educational needs of high school students.

How Effective Is Toothbrush Education through Environmental Changes in Elementary School Children

  • Background: Nowadays, dental health problems in Indonesia are still quite high. It is one of which influenced by low public awareness of the importance of maintaining the health of teeth and mouth that can be measured by toothbrushing behavior. Based on the results of RISKESDAS 2018, only 2.8 percent of the population has a proper toothbrushing behavior. Behavior tends to form at age 6 to 12 years. At this age, children begin to develop habits that tend to settle until adulthood, including toothbrushing behavior. Social cognitive theory is a theory of behavioral change that explains that behavioral changes are influenced by the environment, personal, behavior where these three factors influence each other. This study aims to identify changes in the dental behavior of second grades students before and after the joint toothbrushing at school for 21 days. Methods: A pre-experimental study-design was conducted on elementary school by pre-post treatment method where there are 2 classes that get intervention and 2 other classes as control. A joint toothbrush is performed every morning before the school activities begin. Before and after the joint toothbrushing, all classes are given questionnaires to see if there are any changes in behavior seen through knowledge, attitudes, and practice. Results: Respondent group showed increasement on their knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors towards toothbrushing. In contrast, the control groups showed no significant differences in the 3 factors. Conclusion: In this study the education of toothbrushing through environmental changes is quite effective in elementary school children. Insights into the benefits of this program and refinements of optimally targeted intervention, including longitudinal studies are needed to improve the results.

The Prevalence of Retirement Planning Among Women in Malaysia - A Conceptual Article

  • Purpose: Many people recognize the fact that women are basically poor at financial and retirement planning. A small number of scholars have explored the factors and situations that influence the level of awareness of pre-retirement women and men with regards to planning for their retirement years. In most developing countries, including Malaysia, there are more men in the younger segment of the population and more women in the older segment, since women tend to live longer than men due to having jobs of relatively lower risk, their behaviors, and activities. Research design, data and methodology: Given that it is hard to predict whether they will be healthy in old age, women may require additional resources to obtain the care and assistance that they need. The transition from career life into retirement is a long process for people to go through. Some may be able to prepare for the next stage of life, and some may not be able to prepare due to personal reasons. Planning for future retirement is important because it will affect the quality of a woman's life after a certain age. Results: Without proper planning, women may face financial instability, depression, and poor psychological well-being. However, many women are unaware of their financial status or do not know their family's financial status, such as tracking the main income, budget, and expenses, financial commitments and have no proper record of assets owned, loans owed, or updated loan balances. Conclusions: The findings of this research have led to the conclusion that pre-retiree women are likely to regard their retirement savings as sufficient without realizing that they should have at least several types of savings instead of just one, and the grave consequences of not having any savings at all for their retirement years.

학습자 유형에 따른 개인 학습의 차이 연구 (A Study on the Differences in Personal Learning by Learner Type)

  • 교육이 이루어지는 현장에서 자발적이든 비자발적이든지 간에 학습자의 참여는 모든 교수-학습의 기본적인 전제가 된다. 지금까지 행동주의나 인지주의적 교육심리학은 교수-학습 이론의 발달에 상당한 도움을 준 것은 사실이지만 학습자의 학습유형에 따른 학습자 중심의 교육을 실시하는 부분에는 크게 도움이 되지 못한 것도 사실이다. 학습자의 학습유형에 따른 학습자 중심의 교육을 대학의 상황에 맞추어 적용하는 것은 결코 쉬운 일이 아니며 그 방법론을 교육현장에 적용하는 것에 어려움을 겪는 것이 오늘날 대학 교육의 현실이다. 현재, 신학대학에서 전문적인 신학지식과 통찰력을 가지고 목회 현장의 어려움과 문제들을 진단하고 해결하는 지식을 스스로 갖추도록 하며, 더 나아가 미래 사회를 이끌 수 있는 영적 지도력을 갖추도록 학생들을 교육시키는 것은 점점 어려운 현실이다. 학생 개개인의 특성을 이해하고 그들의 학습유형에 맞게 교수해야 함을 알고 있음에도 불구하고, 실행이 어려운 것은 학습자 개개인이 서로 다른 능력, 조건, 문화적 배경을 갖고 있으며 특별히 다양한 학습유형을 지니고 있기 때문이다. 이런 점에서 개인의 학습 효과를 높이기 위해서는 학생의 학습유형을 고려한 개별 학습이 효과적이라 할 수 있다.

농업계 특수전문대학 학생들의 학습 환경에 따른 정신병리 차이와 개인상담의 효과검증 (Differences in Psychopathology and Effectiveness of Individual Counselling According to Learning Environment of Agricultural Specialized College Students)

  • This study is aimed at researching on psychopathological characteristics of agriculture-specialized college students, in a specific educational environment, consulting some students who show maladjusted characteristics, verifying its effects and providing basic data for college life instructions. The complete survey MMPI was conducted for 676 freshmen and juniors attending K agriculture-specialized college located in Jeollabuk-do. To analyze the results, basic statistics, bivariate correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were implemented. The results of this study are as follows; First, the level of overall clinical scale was lower than 50 points, standard point, and freshmen showed higher depression (D), hysteria (Hy) and psychasthenia (Pt) in general. Such results are different from the other study results. It is considered an anxiety in early stage, resulted from a living in a dormitory. For the juniors who came back from one-year practice, anxiety about employment seems little because they are already employed. Second, The effects of personal consultation for maladjusted students were proved (p<.01). The students who got consultation showed improvement effect from 'very bad condition' to 'considerable depression', which is low score. This study has a meaning in preventing from any accident, by screening maladjusted students who are supposed to learn in a specific situation, by relieving their symptoms through consultation and letting them concentrate on learning.
