  • Cultures mean communication. With the whole world communicating online simultaneously, international availability has also been required in education. Especially the social media including the YouTube has opened a new age of e-learning, if not intending to do so, and the curriculum of a college or a university has kept up with the needs of our time. This study contains domestic and international professional programs equipped with internalization of a curriculum. It has suggested a role of college of arts as a customized and specialized institution which offers students advanced skills of related international industries through an internationalization of a curriculum of media and arts. It also suggests that full-time faculties need to develop a program to secure an international expertise. It can be concluded that a shift of paradigm towards education industry through social media contributes to needs to secure an international availability of a curriculum.

  • This study examines the stage costumes of the creative musical 'Hyecho', which was performed six times in the Chung Ang Art Center hosted by Chung-Ang University's performance & media agency from December 20 to 22 in 2006. The stage costumes were made based on these basic design elements of stage costumes that were dyed : line, silhouette, material, and color. First, the creative musical 'Hyecho' presents a new form of fusion theatre, which blends Korean traditional music and dance with videos. Thereby, the musical has opened a new phase in Korea's creative performing arts. Second, in musical performances that combines dance and songs, stage costumes should be made not only to attract the audience's eyes, but also not to interrupt actors' vocalizations and movements by taking their physical features into account. Also, costumes should be made in consideration of their relationships with visual elements, including stage settings and lighting. Third, the musical features fusion-style stage costumes, which combines Hanbok, the Korean traditional costume, and Indian traditional costumes with modern costumes. For the line and silhouette, costumes show the beauty of curves through the curves of Hanbok and India's traditional costumes and also through irregular pleats of pants. Also, by using cotton materials, which is easy to dye and not readily deformed, costumes feature colors that are found in nature through a gradation dyeing technique. In doing so, it offers visual amusement to the audience by making stage costumes look like a beautiful painting. Fourth, the stage costumes of the chorus feature costumes that use lining and pleated skirts using belts, and various accessories, including necklaces that use strings in order to express evil spirits. Since there is not much time to change costumes during a performance, using such items are helpful to show the unique characteristics of actors effectively during the limited time. Also, coordinating with the lighting director allows the costume designer to make better costumes for the chorus and make the performance more dramatic. Finally, it was not necessary to wash the costumes of the chorus of the fusion musical Hyecho 2006 since it was performed only six times. However, when using dyed costumes for the long-term performance, it might cause problems such as bleaching that result from the washing of costumes and low durability that can result in the deformation of costumes. As performing arts are made in various forms and are diversified, it is needed for stage costumes to change accordingly through new attempts and various ways of expression.

  • A cultural and art performance is a domain of the service from which consumers want to get a value through the experience, and a comprehensive study of the service quality the consumers judge to be important is necessary. Also, there are active studies of service quality in various service industries and fields, but there are not many studies related to service quality in the performance business. In the performance industry, the service quality of the theater has a great influence in order to express the distinct theme, and yet, there has been no study of the influences of the choice factors of performing arts, the quality of the physical environment, in other words, the quality of interaction and the quality of the outcome of their selection of a performance of each type of use by the audience of performing arts. Thus, this study aims to understand the quality of physical environment considered by the audience of a choir performance in the selection of the performance according to the type of use of the choir performance and analyze the influences of these factors on the quality of interaction, the quality of outcome and behavioral intention to provide suggestions for the establishment of marketing strategies in the future.

  • The objective of this study is to understand the current status of damage to Korean musical caused by the COVID-19, and also to seek for the coping measures and development direction in the post-Corona era. Thus, to understand the current status of damage, this study mainly researched the contents of NAVER TV musical performance transmitted for three years from March 2018 to February 2021 for analyzing the online performance and performance statistical data of Performing Arts Box Office Information System. As a result, this study could find a hypothesis and grounds to simultaneously verify and draw the positive and negative sides, pessimistic implications, and optimistic possibility. First, the performing arts would be multilaterally expanded after being divided into offline performance and online performance. Second, the utilization of online performance could narrow the gap(polarization) between capital area and non-capital area. Third, it is urgently needed to develop a win-win model for the establishment of a new musical market. Fourth, the performers' copyrights should be fairly protected. Fifth, the visualization requires the Korean-style support foundation and talent equipped with convergent thinking and knowledge. In such temporal changes from offline performance to online performance, there should be more sophisticated qualitative and quantitative growth in musical market.

  • Many Korean traditional music such as Jongmyo Jeryeak and Pansori are listed as UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage and are recognized for their value. However, compared to other genres, Korean traditional music shows various problems such as low proportion of paying audiences and bias of audience age. Previous studies in the performing arts point out that in order to solve these problems, it is necessary to analyze consumers. Existing previous studies on the Korean traditional music performance remained mainly to grasp the influence of performance quality of service on viewing satisfaction at the one-dimensional level. However, in order to meet consumer expectations, not only the satisfaction factor but also the reasons why performing art consumers do not consume performances. In addition, it is important to identify the factors that can cause service failure before the performance, to prepare countermeasures and to manage them continuously. In this study, the Kano-Timko model was used to classify the quality factors of Korean traditional music performances, and to identify the priority points of service failures of Korean traditional music performances through the potential customer satisfaction index. Through the results of this study, Korean traditional performing organizations and organizations will be able to prepare proactive countermeasures for service failures occurring in Korean traditional music performances and establish effective operational strategies to derive customer satisfaction. In addition, it is important to apply the concept of service failure in order to classify the performance quality of service that was identified only in a one-dimensional manner based on Kano model.

It involves the performativity of the audience and has various phenomena of contemporary performing art. This study aims to figure out methods of performativity. "Lost Missing and Forgotten," which is a collaboration from Finland and Korea created in 2012 and "Trailer," which is held in Copenhagen Denmark in 2010 by Kitt Johnson. Three principles of performativity which have borrowed as critical tools for this study are role reversal, community building, and contact, which based on "The Aesthetics of Performativity," written by Erika Fischer-Lichte in 2017. The study results show that performativity in the vertical structure and horizontal structure of site-specific performance can act as an environmental factor through the audience's body. Additionally, it turned out that role reversal principle was transformation audience to a creator; community building principle led to an interest in neighbors. Lastly, the contact principle was one of the methods to watch the performance.

  • Recently performing arts pursue a new rootage of the collective intelligence that seeks experimental thinking and diversity in creative convergence. Understanding in this way the concept of artist's horizontal creation structure and individual communication of the public, this study tries to analyze ${\ll}God's\;Eye\;View{\gg}$, an example of convergent performing art. The result of analysis is as follows. The convergence in performing art could be approached through experiential thinking and diachronic of artists by genre, and the interpretation and its value of the result of work be shared horizontally. ${\ll}God's\;Eye\;View{\gg}$ express a dynamic communication and meaning of poetic image, and shows the experimental creation of convergence and the individual communication ability of collective intelligence as a new value of convergence.
