  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of Housing Service Centers in terms of a new attempt made by NGOs and to then determine the implication of collaboration with lower level local governments in a housing welfare delivery system. The evaluation of the performance of the Housing Service Centers focused on three aspects: the performance outcomes for three years, comparative advantages to lower level local governments, and the vulnerability as an NGO. As a result of evaluating the outcome of Housing Service Centers and comparative advantages of Housing Service Centers to the local government, it is expected that a more effective housing welfare delivery system is able to be constructed when Housing Service Centers and lower level local governments collaborate. However, fiscal vulnerability of Housing Service Centers as NGO's will restrict the sustainability of the collaboration of both organizations. Therefore, as a conclusion, this study proposed that the governments should make use of Housing Service Centers as a public policy agency and projects should be based on a contract.

  • Purpose - This study has the following objectives. First, it seeks to build an integrated model that can analyze the path through which headquarters, subsidiary competence, and knowledge transfer performance influence subsidiary performance. Second, it analyzes the influence of the specificity of technology as a moderating effect factor on knowledge transfer process. Third, it will conduct an empirical analysis on distributive manufacturing MNEs and suggests an implication for companies that actually need technological localization. The difference of this study are as follows. First, unlike the existing studies, this study can expand a theoretical discussion as it uses subsidiary performance as the dependent variable. Second, it sets the specificity of technology as a moderating effect factor, not an antecedent, and can draw a theoretical implication. Research design, data, and methodology - This study built a path analysis model to identify the influence of the disseminative capacity and absorptive capacity of distributive manufacturing MNEs on subsidiary performance. Based on the previous studies, it set 19 items as 5 latent variables, and established 6 hypotheses by including the moderating effect of the specificity of technology between them. The final 203 companies were selected as analysis samples through a survey questionnaire. For empirical analysis, the study used PLS (Partial Least Square) that is based on structural equation model. Results - The empirical analysis result demonstrated that both headquarters' disseminative capability and subsidiaries absorptive capacity had a positive influence on knowledge transfer performance. Knowledge transfer performance also had a positive influence on subsidiary performance. In the analysis of moderating effect, the specificity of technology acted as a significant moderating variable only between knowledge transfer performance and subsidiary performance; it did not show a statistically significant moderating effect among disseminative capability, absorptive capacity, and knowledge transfer performance. Conclusions - The empirical analysis results of this study demonstrate the importance of disseminative capability and absorptive capacity in knowledge transfer to subsidiaries from the distributive manufacturing MNEs in Korea. The analysis on the moderating effect indicates that the specificity of technology in Korean companies influences on the process of making achievement by using the transferred knowledge.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of the leadership style of a CEO of a public performing arts theater to the quality management and business performance, with a focus on the differences by the leadership styles. For this purpose, a survey was conducted with the CEO of 165 public performing arts theaters in country, from whom 98 valid replies were collected for analysis and further validation of hypothesis of this study. The validation revealed that, first, the task oriented and change oriented leadership provided positive influences to the quality management activities, while relations oriented leadership failed to do so. Secondly, the quality management activities by the CEOs of the public performing arts theaters had positive correlations with the financial performance and market performance, which are part of the business performance indices of a performance art center. Thirdly, while the task oriented and change oriented leadership styles did have influences over the business performance; it was revealed that the quality management activities wielded only indirect influence toward such elements. The relations oriented leadership style appeared to fail to influence with significance. Such results as above show that only the task oriented and change oriented leadership style of a CEO in a public performing arts theater had positive influences over the business performance, with an implication that the CEOs of such facilities shall keep this in mind and exercise such leadership styles. In addition, another implication of this study was that it is also important to give efforts to the quality management activities, which turned out to influence the business performance significantly. The implication of this study is that the study was conducted with direct participation by the CEOs themselves of public performing arts theaters in country and an examination was made to see the differences by leadership styles.

  • The objective of this paper is to verify the association among IOS utilization, relationship quality, and firm performance. Based on the literature review, we configure a research model and verify the research hypothesis by utilizing structural equation modeling with data collected from 340 domestic manufacturers. The results of SEM are as follows. First, IOS utilization has a positive effect on satisfaction and firm performance. Second, satisfaction has a positive influence on trust and commitment, and trust positive affect commitment. Third, satisfaction and commitment has a positive effect on firm performance, but trust has not significantly affect firm performance. Finally, commitment plays a role of mediator in the association between trust and firm performance. The implication of this paper is to verify that ISO utilization is an important factor to improve the performance in B2B transaction. However, it is necessary to derive a more precise implication by considering diverse environment faced by each company in future research.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the determinants of the export performance of the most preferred trade exhibitions for SMEs. And the results are as follow. First, it is analyzed that the challenging entrepreneurship, the global orientation toward the overseas market, the quality of the excellent trade show, and the support system of the trade exhibition of the export related organizations all have a very positive effect on the export performance of the SMEs participating in the trade show. Second, the number and size of participating trade shows has no influence on controlling export performance. Third, there is a difference in export performance depending on participation frequency, participation size, participation method, and participating region. The implication of this study is that SMEs, which have a strong sense of entrepreneurship and a strong commitment to the global market, need to actively participate in trade exhibitions with relatively low barriers to entry. The policy implication is that organizers and export-related organizations need to understand the internal capabilities of participating companies in order to maximize the performance of participating companies. And Korea should also create an environment that can attract and hold excellent trade exhibitions held overseas. Therefore, the government and export-related organizations should expand the infrastructure for hosting global trade exhibitions. As well as an urgent need to build a system for attracting overseas buyers that can dramatically boost overseas buyer visits.
