성능평가를 위한 다양한 분포를 갖는 질의 작업부하의 생성 기법 (A Technique for Generating Query Workloads of Various Distributions for Performance Evaluations)

  • Performance evaluations of database algorithms are usually conducted on a set of queries for a given test database. For more detailed evaluation results, it is often necessary to use different query workloads several times. Each query workload should reflect the querying patterns of the application domain in real world, which are non-uniform in the usage frequencies of attributes in queries of the workload for a given database. It is not trivial to generate many different query workloads manually, while considering non-uniform distributions of attributes'usage frequencies. In this paper we propose a technique to generate non-uniform distributions, which will help construct query workloads more efficiently. The proposed algorithm generates a query-attribute usage distribution based on given constraints on usage frequencies of attributes and qreries. The algorithm first allocates as many attributes to queries as Possible. Then it corrects the distribution by considering attributes and queries which are not within the given frequency constraints. We have implemented and tested the performance of the proposed algorithm, and found that the algorithm works well for various input constraints. The result of this work could be extended to help automatically generate SQL queries for various database performance benchmarking.

지역자활센터 성과평가에 대한 실무자의 인식 차이에 관한 연구 (The Difference of Staff Perceptions in Performance Evaluations at Local Self-Sufficiency Centers)

  • 본 연구는 지역자활센터의 성과평가에 대한 실무자의 인식 차이를 알아보는 연구로, 구체적으로는 성과평가 기준, 평가 절차, 평가 시행, 평가 결과에 대한 보상, 평가 결과의 환류 각각에 있어 팀장급 이상의 실무자와 일반 실무자 간 차이가 있는지 살펴보는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2010년 9월 6일부터 9월 30일까지 전국 15개 지부의 지역자활센터에 근무하는 실무자를 대상으로 우편 설문조사를 실시하였고, 배포된 672부의 설문지 중 회수된 439부 가운데, 432부를 최종 잠재평균분석에 반영하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역자활센터의 실무자들은 참여적 성과평가 시행이라는 측면에 있어서는 비교적 긍정적으로 인식하고 있으나, 성과평가에 대한 환류 측면에 있어서는 다소 부정적으로 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 팀장급 이상의 실무자들은 일반 실무자들에 비해 성과평가의 기준, 평가 결과에 대한 보상에 대해 보다 부정적으로 인식하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 지역자활센터의 성과평가제도와 관련한 시사점을 도출하였다.

교원업적평가와 성과연봉제 그리고 강의평가 (Faculty Performance Evaluation, Annual Salary and Student Course Evaluation)

  • 2011년 1월 교육과학기술부의 '공무원 보수규정 개정안'이 국무회의를 통과함으로써 국립대 교원을 대상으로 성과 연봉제가 3월에 신규 임용되는 교원부터 적용된다. 2013년에는 비정년 교원, 2015년에는 정년 교원을 포함한 전체 교원이 성과연봉제의 대상이다. 성과연봉제의 4개 등급인 S(20%), A(30%), B(40%), C(10%)로 모든 교원을 나누려면 상대평가 방식의 교원업적평가가 매년 이루어져야 한다. 교원업적평가 기준은 학교마다 다르겠지만 대부분의 대학들은 교육(40%), 연구(40%), 봉사(20%) 등의 3개 영역에서 약간의 비율 차이가 나는 정도일 것이다. 교육평가에서는 담당 수업 시간 수, 대학원 졸업생 배출, 학생 지도 등과 같이 손쉽게 양적 평가가 가능한 부분도 있지만, 정작 제일 중요한 교육의 질에 대한 평가는 어떻게 할 것인가? 몇몇 연구자들이 교원업적평가에 적용하기 위한 강의평가 점수의 사후 보정 방법을 제안하였다. 그러나 기존 연구자들이 제안한 강의평가 점수에 대한 사후 보정 방법을 전북대학교에 적용해 본 결과는 아직도 공정성과 객관성에 대한 시비를 면하기 어려운 것으로 나타났다. 더 나아가 교육의 질을 제대로 평가하려면 재학생의 강의평가 이외에 동료 교수, 교육 전문가, 졸업생, 기업인, 학과와 관련된 외부 인사 등의 강의평가를 함께 고려해보아야 할 것이다.

간호학생의 학업성취도와 임상수행능력 및 임상수행자신감의 관련성 (The relationship among academic achievement, clinical competence, and confidence in clinical performance of nursing students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine relationships between academic achievement, clinical competence, and confidence in the clinical performance of nursing students, and to identify factors that influence them. Methods: This was a descriptive correlation study. Data were collected from 118 nursing students at a nursing college in Seoul. One-way variance analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analysis were used to examine relationships between academic achievement, clinical competence, and confidence in clinical performance. Results: Clinical competence was related to academic achievement in students' previous semester and to students' academic scores in a fundamental of nursing course. Clinical competence showed a weak positive correlation with academic achievement in students' previous semester and academic scores in a fundamental of nursing course in both evaluations by the professor and students' self-evaluations. However, confidence in clinical performance had no significant correlation with academic achievement. The factor affecting the clinical competence was academic scores in a fundamental of nursing course, and factors affecting confidence in clinical performance were health status, personality, major suitability, and class satisfaction in a fundamental of nursing skills course. Conclusion: These findings indicate that students with high academic achievement have better clinical performance, but confidence in clinical performance is not related to academic achievement.

제강슬래그와 폐아스팔트를 활용한 중온 아스팔트 포장의 거동 분석 (Experimental and Numerical Analysis of Warm Mix Asphalt Pavement prepared using Steel Slag and RAP)

  • PURPOSES : This study aimed to analyze the experimental and numerical behavior of warm mix asphalt pavement prepared using steel slag and RAP and to conduct economic analysis of pavement construction. METHODS : For developing high performance asphalt pavement, we performed three evaluations: fundamental analysis, experimental testing, and 3D finite element analysis. In particular, 3D finite element analysis was conducted on several pavement structures by adopting the results of experimental tests. RESULTS : Through the various evaluations, it was established that steel slag was effective for use as asphalt mixture aggregate. Moreover, asphalt mixture constituting steel slag and RAP demonstrated higher performance behavior compared with conventionally used asphalt mixture. Furthermore, based on the 3D FE modeling, we established that the developed asphalt pavement constituting steel slag and RAP can be utilized for thin layer pavement with comparable performance behavior. CONCLUSIONS :Warm mix asphalt pavement prepared using steel slag and RAP is more competitive and economic compared to hot-mix asphalt pavement. Moreover, it can be applied for preparing thin layer asphalt pavements with reasonable performance. The developed warm mix asphalt pavement prepared using steel slag and RAP can be an alternative pavement type with competitive performance based on the reasonable economic benefit it provides.

객관화된 구조화 임상시험의 학생평가와 교수자 평가 간의 차이 비교 및 영향 요인 (Comparison of Teacher's and Students' Evaluations on OSCE Performance among College Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to compare and contrast the evaluation scores on students OSCE performance between the instructors and students according to the Bloom's taxonomy. Methods: A total of sixty six students in a nursing college in Seoul, Korea and four instructors were recruited in the study. The 28 sophomore students were assigned to an OSCE on intravenous injection, whereas 38 junior students on tracheostomy care. Knowledge levels were measured by the students using the researcher developed knowledge questionnaires, and the attitudes and skills by the students and instructors by the modified clinical performance checklists. The data were analyzed by SPSS 22.0 program. Results: For knowledge, the higher GPA of the previous semester was only significant factor of higher knowledge scores. There were statistically significant differences in scores of total (t=-2.740, p=.008) and skill (t=-2.528, p=0.014), but not in attitude between the instructors and students' evaluations. The students evaluated their skill scores significantly higher than those of the instructors. For knowledge, the higher GPA of the previous semester was the only significant factor of higher knowledge scores. In attitude scores, the students in higher grade significantly overestimated themselves (t=3.076, p=.003). Conclusion: Clinical performance assessment requires methodological validity and reliability for student to attain necessary clinical skills properly and efficiently. The findings of this study mandate various assessment methods for nursing simulation evaluations to be valid.

Effects of 1 year of training on the performance of ultrasonographic image interpretation: A preliminary evaluation using images of Sjogren syndrome patients

  • Purpose: This study investigated the effects of 1 year of training on imaging diagnosis, using static ultrasonography (US) salivary gland images of Sjögren syndrome patients. Materials and Methods: This study involved 3 inexperienced radiologists with different levels of experience, who received training 1 or 2 days a week under the supervision of experienced radiologists. The training program included collecting patient histories and performing physical and imaging examinations for various maxillofacial diseases. The 3 radiologists (observers A, B, and C) evaluated 400 static US images of salivary glands twice at a 1-year interval. To compare their performance, 2 experienced radiologists evaluated the same images. Diagnostic performance was compared between the 2 evaluations using the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). Results: Observer A, who was participating in the training program for the second year, exhibited no significant difference in AUC between the first and second evaluations, with results consistently comparable to those of experienced radiologists. After 1 year of training, observer B showed significantly higher AUCs than before training. The diagnostic performance of observer B reached the level of experienced radiologists for parotid gland assessment, but differed for submandibular gland assessment. For observer C, who did not complete the training, there was no significant difference in the AUC between the first and second evaluations, both of which showed significant differences from those of the experienced radiologists. Conclusion: These preliminary results suggest that the training program effectively helped inexperienced radiologists reach the level of experienced radiologists for US examinations.

PQRST파 특징 기반 신호의 분류를 이용한 심전도 압축 알고리즘 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of ECG Compression Algorithms using Classification of Signals based PQSRT Wave Features)

  • 심전도의 압축은 시스템의 처리 속도를 높일 뿐만 아니라 신호의 전송량, 장기적인 기록 데이터 저장량을 줄일 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 심전도 데이터의 손실 혹은 무 손실 압축 알고리즘에 대한 성능 평가가 엔지니어의 관점에서 PRD(Percent RMS Difference)와 CR(Compression Ratio)을 측정하였다면 심전도를 진단하는 진단자의 관점에서 압축의 성능 평가에 대한 연구를 하였다. 일반적으로 심전도 데이터의 압축이 진단에 영향을 미치지 않게 하기위해서는 압축 후 복원된 PQRST파의 위치, 길이, 진폭, 파의 형태 등 진단에 필요한 것들이 손상되어선 안 된다. 대표적인 심전도 압축 알고리즘 AZTEC은 기존의 성능평가에 그 효율성이 검증되었지만 진단자의 관점에서 새로운 성능평가를 제시한다.
