월동전 예취 높이가 북방형목초의 월동성 , 이른봄 수량 및 양분생산에 미치는 영향 I. 초종별 예취 높이에 따른 저장탄수화물함량의 변화 , 월동성 및 수량 비교 (Effect of Cutting Height on the Winter Survival , Early Spring Yield and Energy Production of Italian ryegrass, Tall fescue and Perennial ryegrass I.   • 본 실험은 가을에 파종하여 월동전 예취 높이를 달리 하였을 때 공식초종의 탄수화물함량변화, 월동성 및 다음해 봄철 수랑에 미치는 영향을 구명하기 위해 초종(Italian ryegrass, tall fescue, perennial ryegrass)을 주구로 하고 월동전 예취 높이 (무예취, 6cm, 15cm)를 세구로 하여 분활구배치 3반복으로 설계하여 수행한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 초종별 예취 높이에 따른 목장내 온도변화는 tall fescue > perennial ryegraa > Italian ryegrass 순으로 높게 나타났으나 예취 높이 간에는 일정하지 않았다. 2. 월동전 초종별 평균저장탄수화물 함량은 세초종 모두 무예취>15cm 예취>6cm 예취순으로 나타났으며 초종간에는 Italian ryegrass > perennial ryegrass > tall fescue 순으로 높게 나타났다. 한편 월동율은 초종간 예취 높이에 차가 없었다. 3. 생초수량에 있어서는 초종간에서 Italian ryegrass>perennial ryegraa>tall fescue 순으로 높게 나타나 유의성(P<0.05)이 나타났으나 건물수량에 있어서는 초종간, 예취 높이간 모두 유의성 (P>0.05)이 나타나지 않았다.

그라스(Grasses)류의 현대 활용추세 관점에서 본 피에트 우돌프(Piet Oudolf)의 정원 디자인 특징 (Characteristics of Piet Oudolf's Garden Design from the Viewpoint of the Contemporary Trends in the Use of Grasses)

  • 본 연구는 자연식재의 경향, 기후변화, 유지관리 면에서 유리한 새로운 조경식물이 필요하다고 판단하여 향후 우리나라에서도 그라스의 사용은 늘어날 것이며, '그라스류를 어떻게 조경공간에서 잘 활용할 수 있을 것인가?' 에 관한 해답을 제공할 목적으로 숙근초와 그라스의 사용에 있어 세계적으로 주목 받고 있으며 현대적인 식재디자인의 추세를 이끌어 내고 있는 피에트 우돌프(Piet Oudolf)의 정원디자인을 통해 그라스 사용의 식재기법과 의미를 디자인 관점에서 살펴보고자 하였다. 우돌프의 그라스를 통한 정원디자인 특징은 다음과 같은 세 가지의 연구결과로 요약될 수 있다. 첫째, 그라스와 숙근초의 결합방식에 있어 일대일로 대응시키거나, 확대되어 드리프트(drift) 기법이 나타나도록 하였다. 이때의 그라스는 주로 공간을 전환하거나 이미지가 전이될 때 삽입되는 연결 소재로서의 역할을 한다. 둘째, 정원에서 시간의 지속성에 대한 해결방안으로 그라스의 갈색(brown color)과 질감(texture)을 이용하였다. 이는 가을, 겨울의 서정성과 회화성을 표현하는 역할을 하였다. 셋째, 규모가 커지면서 시점과 동선이 일치하지 않을 경우 층위를 설정하고 있다. 매트릭스, 섬, 분산층위를 통해 반복적으로 숙근초와 그라스를 교차시키고 있다. 이때는 장면과 장면을 설정해 가며, 그 속에서 그라스는 추상적 의미로 사용되고 있다.

사면(斜面) 녹화용(綠化用) 외래초종(外來草種)의 혼파조합(混播組合)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Mixed-Seeding Rates of Exotic Grasses for Slope Revegetation Measures)

  • This study was conducted to find out the growth characteristic of mixed-seeding in the grasses for slope revegetation measures. Seeding treatment with six combination types of five grasses used for this experiment such as orchardgrass(Dactylis glomerata 'Potomac'), perennial ryegrass(Lolium perenne 'Manhattan'), tall fescue(Festuca arundinacea 'Jaguar'), kentucky bluegrass(Poa pratensis 'Majestic') and weeping lovegrass(Eragrostis curvula). The growth of orchardgrass, perennial ryegrass and tall fescue were good on mixed-seeding condition in case of number of individuals, heights and coverages at this experiment. These plants will useful for revegetation measures mixed-seeding, but weeping love grass and kentucky bluegrass did not show a desirable growth in mixed-seeding condition, and these plant prefered mixed seeding to single seeding. Regeneration percents of orchardgrass, perennial ryegrass and tall fescue were higher than that of weeping love grass and kentucky bluegrass, and coverage kept on good condition through one year after seeding, therefore, these plants will effective for initial stage revegetation measures.

  • To study the response to plant growth by the environmental factors, the effects of application of nitrogen on changes in the yield, crude protein, amino acids, chlorophyll, carotene, total phosphorus, acid-soluble phosphorus, phospholipids, RNA, and DNA were investigated with westerworlds 9Lolium sublatum) and perennial rye-grasses (Lolium perenne). The amounts of dry weight, crude protein, amino acids, chlorophyll, carotene, total phosphorus, acid-soluble phosphorus, phospholipids, RNA and DNA of both rye-grasses increased with adequately increasing nitrogen, and reached a maximum with an adequate application of nitrogen. The relationships between yields and crude protein contents, crude protein and RNA contents, and yields and RNA contents of westerworlds and perennial rye-grasses were found to be positively correlated, respectively. Turf Grass 초종의 건물수량 및 사료가치 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Dry Matter Yield and Quality of Turf Grasses)

  • 본 시험은 국내에 도입된 잔디형(turf type) 초종을 공시하여 이들 초종의 수량과 사료가치 등을 상호 비교하여 혼파초지를 조성하는데 활용 가능성을 검토하고자 시험을 수행하였다. 시험은 1999년 9월부터 2002년 12월까지 충남대학교 생명과학대학내 부속 초지시험포장에서 수행하였다. 공시된 잔디형 초종은 Kentucky bluegrass(Newport), red fescue(Salem), creeping bentgrass(Crenshaw), perennial ryegrass(Palmer II), tall fescue(Rebell Jr.) 및 redtop(Barricuda) 등 6초종 이었으며, 얻어진 시험결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 3년 평균 ha당 건물수량은 tall fescue (11,439kg)와 red top(11,312kg)이 다른 초종에 비하여 높았다(P <0.05). 2. 조단백질 함량과 건물소화율이 높은 초종은 creeping bentgrass, perennial ryegrass 및 Kentucky blueuass 등이었으며, 상대적으로 낮은 초종은 redtop, red fescue 및 tall fescue 이었다. 3. 3년 평균 ha당 조단백질 수량(CPDM)은 Kentucky bluegrass(2,329kg)와 redtop(2,300kg)이 높았던 반면에, red fescue(1,646kg)가 가장 낮은 결과를 나타내었다(p<0.05). 가소화건물수량(DDM)은 tall fescue(8,995kg)와 redtop(8,896kg)이 높았던 반면에, creeping bentgrass(7,152kg)와 red fascue(6,966kg)는 낮은 편이었다(p<0.05). 이상의 결과를 종합해 볼 때, 혼파초지에 보조초종으로 기대되는 잔디형 초종은 tall fescue, Kentucky bluegrass 및 redtop 이라 하겠다.

축구경기장 토양의 물리적 특성과 잔디 마모특성 - 2002년 월드컵 인천경기장 모형돔을 대상으로 - (Physical Properties of Soil and Turfgrass Wear Characteristics of Soccer Fields - A Simulation of the Inchon 2002 World Cup Stadium -)

  • This study was conducted to investigate physical properties of soil and turfgrass wear characteristics within turfgrasses inside or outside the stadium A 1/1000 scale model Inchon world cup soccer d[me was constructed for this test. Turfgrasses planted inside and outside the model dome were; Kentucky bluegrass(KB), Kentucky bluegrass + perennial ryegrass mixture (KB+PR), Kentucky bluegrass + tall fescue + perennial ryegrass mixture (KB+TF+PR), Zoysia japonica 'Anyangjungzii'(ZA) and Zoysia japonica 'Zenith\`(ZZ). The rootzone was constructed by the multi-layer method (United States Golf Association method). Traffic on turfgrasses was treated with a 120kg roller. Surface soil hardness, soil penetration and water infiltration values on cool-season grasses(KB, KB+PR, KB+TF+PR) was found to be better for soccer play compared to zoysiagrasses(ZA, ZZ). No big differences in surface soil hardness, soil penetration and water infiltration values were found between inside and outside of the model dome. Wear damage on cool-season grasses caused by the traffic treatment was low compared to zoysiagrasses. However, there was no difference in wear damage by the traffic treatment within cool-season grasses while wear damage on ZA was higher than on ZZ within zoysiagrasses. It could be concluded that physical properties and wear characteristics on cool-season grasses were much better for soccer play than on zoysiagrasses.

축구경기장의 잔디초종 선정에 관한 연구 - 2002년 월드컵 인천경기장 모형돔을 대상으로 - (Turfgrass Selection for Soccer Fields - A Simulation of the Inchon 2002 World Cup Stadium -)

  • This study was conducted to select suitable turfarasses for use at 2002 world cup soccer fields in Korea. A 1/1000 scale Inchon worldcup soccer dome was constructed for this research. Species and seeding rates of cool-season grasses used inside and outside the dome were Kentuck bleugrass 10g/$m^2$ (KB), Kentucky bleugrass 10g/$m^2$+ perennial ryegrass 10g/$m^2$ mixture (KB+PR) and Kentucky bleugrass 6g/$m^2$+tall fescue 14g/$m^2$+ perennial ryegrass 4g/$m^2$ mixture (KB+TF+PR). Warm-season grasses also used in this study were Zoysia japonica 'Anyangjungzii' (ZA) and Zoysia japonica 'Zenith'(ZZ) which were layed as sod. So, total 5 types of grasses were used inside and outside the dome. The rootzone was constructed by the multi-layer method(United States Golf Association method). The plots were designed by randomized block design. Cool-season grasses(KB, KB+PR, KB+TF+PR) were found to be better performers for visual rating and visual color than the zoysiagrasses(ZA, ZZ). There were no significant differences in turf performance within cool-season grasses, while ZA showed better turf performances than ZZ within zoysiagrasses. The green color was maintained for about 10 months in the col-season grasses(KB, KB+PR, KB+TF+PR) compared to about 5~6 months in the zoysiagrasses. Root length and density data revealed higher values for KB, KB+PR and KB+TF+PR compared to ZA and ZZ. Root performance of 22 was better than ZA within zoysiagrasses which was the opposite result of turf performances. There was also no significant difference between U performance inside and outside the dome. However, the decreasing tendency of turf quality inside the dome at the end of the study showed that more proper maintenance technology was needed inside the d[me. It could be concluded by this study that cool-season grasses(KB, KB+PR, KB+TF+PR) were more suitable turfgrasses than waits-season zoysiagrasses(ZA, ZZ) for use at 2002 world cup soccer fields in Korea.

제주지역 말 방목 초지의 혼파조합별 생산성 및 채식율 변화 (Changes in the Productivity and the Percentage of Grasses Intake in Different Mixtures Grazed by Thoroughbred Horses)

  • 본 연구는 제주지역에서 말 방목에 적합한 혼파조합을 선발하기 위해 해발 450m에 위치한 한국마사회 경주마육성목장에서 티모시, 오차드그라슨 페레니얼 라이그라스 화본과 위주 초종으로 혼파 파종하여 2년 간 말(더러브렛)을 방목하면서 목초생산성, 식생변화 및 채식율 변화 등을 구명하기 위해 수행되었다. 연간 총 건물생산량은 1, 2차년도에 관계없이 혼파조합 간 유의적인 차이를 보이지 않았으나 시기별에 따라 생산량 차이를 보였다. 식생은 페레니얼 라이그라스가 봄철 크게 우점현상을 보였으나 여름철에는 하고 현상으로 식생구성이 낮게 나타났다. 방목 첫 해 티모시는 식생비율이 낮았으나, 그 후에는 연중 적절한 식생 구성을 보였다. 채식율은 티모시 주초종에서 높게 나타났다(P<0.05). 식물체 NDF, ADF, Ca 및 P 함량은 처리 간 차이를 보이지 않았다. 본 연구결과 제주지역(해발 400m 내외)애서 티모시 주초종(ha 당 티모시 20, 오차드그리스 5, 페레니얼 라이그라스 5, 화이트클로버 2kg)의 혼파조합은 시기별 생산성과 기호성을 고려할 때 말 방목초지로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Vegetation Changes and Yields of Tall Fescue-based Mixture Pasture in the Central Region of South Korea

  • Pasture formation and management are crucial to avoid yield reduction. This experiment aimed to examine the effects of tall fescue-centered mixed-seeding combinations on yield and vegetation changes in perennial pastures in the central region for two years, from September 2020 to October 2022. The treatments were arranged in three replications in a randomized block design: control (C), tall fescue-based mixture-1 (T-1), and tall fescue-based mixture-2 (T-2). The tall fescue (TF), orchard grass (OG), perennial ryegrass (PRG), Kentucky bluegrass (KBG), and white clover (WC) were used. The emergency rate of grasses (70.0 to 73.3%) did not differ among mixed seeding combinations. Overwintering rates (81.7 to 83.3%) were similar among treatments. The plant height of grasses was similar at each harvest date, with the highest height (86.2 cm) recorded in the second harvest of the first year, followed by that (58.4 cm) in the third harvest of the first year; it was least (38.9 cm) in the fourth harvest of the second year. There was no significant difference in the dry matter yield of grasses among the mixed seeding combination treatments in the first, third, or fourth harvests of the first year (p>0.05). For second-year grasses, dry matter yield was not significantly different in harvest date among the treatments (p>0.05). Based on mixed seeding ratio, orchard grass showed the highest yield at 70% in the C treatment, followed by tall fescue at 80% and 60% in the T-1 and T-2 treatments, respectively, in the first harvest after seeding. There was no significant difference in feed value between treatments (p>0.05), but a significant difference was observed between the third and fourth harvest (p<0.05). Therefore, it indicated that it is important to create perennial pastures in the central region through mixed seeding combinations centered on tall fescue.
